Average time to throw (Spoiler alert: Bryce is 2nd to last)
MGH1989 replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it’s fair to criticize him. He is clearly smart and has great acumen, which makes his struggles surprising. I also think there has been some signs of good play. Like you said the context also matters and he just has not had the support that anyone expected. It sucks, but it’s gonna take time. -

Like is said in my earlier post. I think he is hesitant to rip it on the first or second read in part due to lack of separation. That’s normal rookie stuff. Not Sam Darnold I’m seeing ghosts. That’s just an over exaggeration in my opinion. -

He did that because he was looking at the defense. Miles Sanders even said as much. It’s happened before. You’re putting way too much stock in that one moment. -

It hasn’t been great and he is clearly sped up, but I did not see anything near seeing ghosts. -

It can’t be said enough and I think posters keep losing sight of this, he is a rookie. Of course a decade long vet is going to get the ball out faster. The other issue I think is that Bryce is over processing. He is going through his reads because he isn’t trusting the first or second or even third and the protection just won’t hold up that long. Dalton had considerably more urgency to trust the first read and get it out this past weekend. -
Everything is connected. O-line can't run block anymore Offense isn't productive on 1st or second down Offense is in too many 3rd and long situations O-line can't protect on 3rd and long Receivers cannot separate Rinse repeat Factor in questionable play calling and the inability to get chunk plays and it just one big recipe for disaster.

It sucks. I know it does. We deserve a winner, but the Cardinals just beat the Boys and the Colts just beat the Ravens. Never had bad as it seems.
-
Not his fault his players keep jumping the snap.
-
And when there is a down field shot the receiver can’t capitalize.
-
This offense is just so unimaginative.

I thought we were past this point in Charlotte sports fandom where fans just want to draft UNC/Duke/State products…

I think the expectations of winning came more from the fanbase and the state of the division more than anything else. There are some glaring issues on this team that is making it hard to compete. Namely the offensive line, receivers, and overall depth. The former I think has more to do with injures than anything, but I still think you need some young guys to develop and get better depth on the line. As to the receiving core, I think we grossly overestimated the additions as being at least average enough to get by when it’s been probably the worst group in the league. Bad receivers and little protection had really hurt Bruce, who I think had been good given everything. Yet, I think we also overestimated someone as prepared as Bryce being able to overcome the stayed issues. At the end of the day he is still a rookie. With all that said, I think you’re going overboard on how much of a rebuild is needed. You have playmakers at every level of the defense, which has balled out despite injuries. You need depth, but it’s basically there. Offense is more a work in progress, but you know what you need to improve. I don’t think this team is more than an off season away from being where they want to if the FO can hit on the moves they need to.

Cams first season he had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen. Jeremy Shockey, and J-Stew/D-Will. Bryce has nowhere near that talent. Just because and experienced Cam could rise above it later in his career doesn’t mean a rookie QB can right now.

When did this fanbase become so insufferable? Like I don’t even remember it being this bad in 2010. Every result is literally the worst outcome of all time.
-
Says it’s a bad trade and then literally says it’s too early to say whether Young will be good or bad. lmfao wut. Y’all need to go to bed.
-
Measured, thought out, and articulate thoughts on the game. Unfortunately it’s gonna be lost among the brigade of chicken littles running around with their heads cut off.
-
When it’s all said and done Bryce haters are gonna eat their words.
-
It was literally a one score game for almost the entire game.
-
Yea in his 5th season. He had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, and Jeremey Shockey as a rookie.
-
Sucks. We won so much with them.
-
Lmfao the mouth breathers trying to say Young had a route open there. Y’all just love to be miserable.
-
Yes, we agree on one thing. You’re a casual.
-
This is such a casual football fan mentality. QB gets rushed up the guy immediately and expects magic to happen.

Go check the stats of how often teams convert on 3rd and long and get back to me.
