So much for this thought. Buckle up for pick 5-9….

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!

But more often than not you’re most likely going to hit on an ANTHONY Richardson, Malik Willis or Geno Smith more than getting lucky with a CJ Stroud, Jaydon Daniels or Cam Newton. -

If you go back and look at the 2001 and 2002 drafts that’s exactly what we did. In 2003 that’s when we made our Super Bowl run with Jake. I’ve gone back several times in the last week or so looking at those drafts and seeing what we did and how it can correlate with what we’re going through right now. They definitely signed savvy veterans and drafted defensive rookies to help that 2003 team along. Dan Morgan was a part of that and hopefully he can remember that and do something about it. -
It’s his version of real life fantasy football, and he sucks at it.

Play him, fug it. Number 1 pick here we come.

Will Johnson hands down. He doesn’t have a coach/dad telling the media where his athletes and son are not going to play. I’m pretty sure we are on that list and we should just stay away from that drama because we have enough of it already. So draft an immediate day 1 starter to pair with Horn hoping that we can keep him and have a solid duo. With that done we should address further on defense and figure out are we staying 3-4 base or switching to 4-3 with a coordinator change. Either way we will need pass rushers. If we switch back to 4-3 we need to ensure that we have solid linebacker play and I think that should be a focus, because we have as had solid/ strong linebackers on this franchise. I’m done.

Actually I was driving my Pepsi truck this morning so I’m unaware of any news bout Bryce and LA
-
Thielen and/or Johnson to the San Francisco 49ers
-
Three-way trade, Matthew Stafford to the Miami dolphins and Bryce Young to the Los Angeles, Rams.

I must be the only one on the huddle thinking that we should take a fly on Zach Wilson. Either that or I just smoked some rocks this morning.

This is that desperate way of thinking. Yes, can Ward and Sanders might be the top two quarterbacks going into next year‘s draft but that is only a small part of the rebuild phase for this team. You’re talking about switching back to a 43 defense and going out and trying to get a 43 edge rusher, but we’re gonna have a hard time finding that in free agency versus going after them in the draft. There is a lot more defensive players on the front end of this upcoming draft and there is decent offensive players. So if we can get into bed with a team that falls in love with one of these quarterbacks we can potentially get a hall of draft picks if we trade back. Then we start building that defense and a gap quarterback for the time being. There is a lot more quarterbacks that are worth more in the 2026 draft and there is this year‘s draft so if we play the game and keep building this team up that way a rookie quarterback can succeed in year one and not hope to succeed in your two or three with a treacherous year one. A good run game and a good defense helps a rookie quarterback extremely. Hopefully with Brooks, the run game will be secured and if we use next year‘s free agency and draft to secure the defense, a rookie quarterback in 2026 can be successful.

Outside of finding the core for this team, we need to find some leaders. Look back, we had leaders on both sides of the ball. Either it was Luke or TD on defense or Cam and Olsen on offense. We’ve had leaders on this team that provided a heart beat for this team, something we could all rally behind. Look at the successful teams around the league. They have leaders on the team. Either it’s the players or a coach that empowers his team to bite off knee caps. All these teams have that it factor. We are lacking in all departments. Lack of roster talent, lack of leadership, and no heart beat. Hell at this point we are not even a team just a roster of players. A Team can be defined as: “a group of very different individuals who enjoy working together and who share a commitment to working cohesively to help the organization achieve its common goals and fulfill its purpose.” Yeah that ain’t us…

Trade everyone and fully rebuild..

We are still in the rebuilding phase. The defense has regressed, so therefore we need to go ahead and potentially look elsewhere for a new coach on that front. But as far as going forward Morgan and Canales should be allowed to continue their vision for the rebuild over the next two more years. We’ve seen improvement on the offensive line and there are flashes from the receivers and tight end, but the quarterback needs to be addressed going forward. keep allowing them to make small moves here and there and not overreact is the way to go -
Probably going to get torched for these two names that I’m about to throw out there. Why not take a flyer on Zach Wilson or Mason Rudolph? It’s not like they would do any worse than what we already have on this team. Also, another interesting name would be Trey Lance. Not sure what Dallas has been doing with him, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring them in and see what’s been going on with them. I know we don’t need any more reclamation projects on this team.

Trading back to acquire more draft capital would be the best option for this team. Then it would all depend on how we use that draft capital to address holes on the roster. Building in the trenches would be the first place to start on both sides of the ball.

Gotta have them on the cheap as well, don’t break the bank for a bridge QB -

Fields could be interesting to bring in next off season, but there are some other interesting FA QBs as well. They may not be high profiled Qbs, but interesting enough to take a look. -

It feels like David Tepper has the mindset of if you throw enough poo at the wall eventually, it will stick. Hence why he is hiring and firing management and coaches year end and year out. It is that instant gratification mentality. We want new management and new coaching, but if our owner continues to fire these people, we won’t get anybody in those positions worth a damn. -

Raiders added Brady, so why not add the Mannings to lore Arch to us. -

I think first and foremost, is that we have to establish some type of identity for this team. I’m not sure what that identity will be, but we have to start somewhere. We should probably go back to playing defense and running the ball even though that is an antiquated way of playing football in 2024, at least we were doing that well when we were doing it. The days of the cardiac cats. -

Horn can be one of those guys that we can build the defense around. We could use him as a captain for a young defense because he’s expressed that he wants to be here and that he was upset that we let some players go on defense. -

I know Mark Davis would love to do that, but with Tom Brady being a part of that ownership now it might be a long stretch to do that. -

Acquiring as many draft picks as we can is not going to do anything if we don’t have a better college scouting team for this organization. We are just going to be in the same position we are now with the scouting team and the front office drafting the same lame ducks as always.
