It's Official. Cam Newton signs $103.8 Million extension over 5 years.

With the anticipated Cap increases those are very palatable numbers. -
Stephen Hill and Corey Brown Impress at OTAs
Udogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
6'5 Cam, 6'5 KB 6'5 Funch, 6'5 Hill, 6'5 Olsen... That has to be some kind of record where the QB and every receiver is 6'5.- 53 replies

If Cam has an MVP type season, what will be the reason?
Udogg replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
It will mean: He will be #27 on the top 100. They will start the clip by saying. ... he is alright but he isn't Andrew Luck. Someone will make a top 10 QB list and leave him off just to drive website hits. The people who hate him will hate him more. There will be endless articles about his TD and first down celebrations. Some report questioning his commitment will come out of the blue. Someone will say he has better pocket awareness and clearly ignore that it's probably the most stable pocket he has seen since his rookie year. Aaron Rodgers, Luck, Either of the Mannings, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Flacco, Roethlisburger, Kaep, Wilson, RG3, etc.. would have to have had a horrible year for Cam to win it over them. -
Pie Internet Magnitude Performance The PIMP chart. Make it so then pie me.

Oline played better. Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen was a nasty combo.

No one here thinks he soft, No one here thinks he is lazy.. Lots of people think he's injury prone. A great deal of people think he is overpaid. Most agree when healthy he is our best RB.

REPORT: SS Swearinger claimed by Bucs on waivers
Udogg replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
For all the people who hated Charles Godfrey ...................... -
There is nothing wrong with our team. I feel we have just as much chance as the Cowboys to make a deep playoff run. Matter of fact, if we could just beat the Seahwaks once. I think that would be the last "mental" hurdle we need. That being said, Dallas is still missing pieces as well, it's just that their Oline makes our Oline look like a poo poo platter. Front 4 ---- Carolina even with the Kraken in Dallas. Linebacker ---- Carolina > everyone else in the league Seconday ---- I'll say push, but I think ours is better O-line ---- Dallas > everyone else in the league TE ---- I'll say push but Olsen is better imo. WR--- Dallas (yes Dez Bryant is that bad of a man) RB --- Carolina (Stewart is better than McFadden if the Cowboys get AP however, behind that Oline...eeewww). QB --- Dallas (2014 Romo better than last year 2014 Cam. Flame all you want but it's the truth. I would take Cam over Romo however). Coaching --- Riverboat Ron > Jason Garrett > Ron Rivera. We don't have the organizational structure to attract big name FA's. We don't have the weather, the night life, the state sales tax that usually end up being the determining factor). It is what it is and will be for the foreseeable future.

Jerry Jones is a business man and he took a wine/dine business man approach. Presentation is everything. Would have liked Collins but got to give credit where credit is due. Jerry Jones outworked everyone else and got the player he wanted.

Ealy played fine imo. Going into his second year I expect more improvement especially once he adds a little more weight. Once the secondary situation got fixed it appeared the Dline played better. Godfrey and Cason being off the field helped immensely as well. I don't know how anyone can rest their hopes on Frank Alexander. He is a suspension waiting to happen. For the first time in forever, I'm not particularly worried about either line. I'm more worried about depth at this point than anything else.

That was Mike Martz saying they didn't need the TE ... he was stupid. -

I think you're right. Not being able to cover anyone at the safety position probably doesn't fit in to O'Brien's scheme. I'm sure here he can fill in for the void we have been missing since Sherrod Martin left if we traded for him. -

Trade for a Safety who's weakness is coverage? Rather bring Godfrey back. -
Jameis Winston: I didn't steal the crab legs
Udogg replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Of course. Why would he say it during the school year on an undefeated football team? Knowing how anal the NCAA is, Florida state is going to lose scholarships , etc. over this hub bub. They are going to persecute the FSU over this, even though the bowl series made an additional 200Mill on top of the bajillion dollars they normally make. The system is fixed. -
Jameis Winston: I didn't steal the crab legs
Udogg replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
This happened to me at high school level. We walked into a store with old shoes, did the head nod and walked out with new ones. I can't imagine how many little freebies given out at the D1 level. -
I was on the Jordan Mathews bandwagon.
-
That could mean a lot of things. I think depending on how you already view Winston. you will take different meanings. That being said, any lawyer that would utter that statement I would fire immediately. In the same interview he was speaking about how the media blows things out of proportion he gives out that "not ready off the field " nugget. In which the media promptly blows it out of proportion. Matter of fact, with a lawyer that stupid, he must be innocent.

Why is it that some of you huddlers are fixated on..
Udogg replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not sure why there are many post after this. Pretty much should have ended the thread. Yes speed isn't a end all be all of measurables but it helps. Speed also has a dramatic effect on coverages played. Watch how Desean Jackson and TY Hilton are covered. I mean, even looking at our team, look how much better the passing game looked once Philly got involved. -
Five teams that won't return to the playoffs
Udogg replied to Toker Smurf's topic in Carolina Panthers
This sounds familiar. I can't remember when i heard an article like this before?... http://cover32.com/2014/07/03/ten-nfl-contenders-that-wont-make-the-playoffs-this-season/5/ http://www.therichest.com/sports/football-sports/4-nfl-playoff-teams-that-will-fall-in-2014/3/ -
Really? I mean it's the Falcons and I enjoy to no end any amount of suffering heaped upon them, however a first is...perhaps overkill?
-
I agree.. It also depends on when the RB run takes place in the 2nd. If Gurley is there in the 2nd ..I'm pretty sure we are going to take a hard look. Especially after releasing Deangelo and looking forward to reducing salary or cutting Jstew.(unless he has a monster year of course).

I liked the Kraken a lot. but I hate the Cowboys. So, ........ Thanks for the memories GH. Also F the Cowboys and anyone associated with the Cowboys...(except for Tony Dorsett).

If we do due diligence and feel like it's not a huge risk then I support the decision. Because honestly, every draft pick is a risk. However he has made a lot of poor decisions.
