  1. There is a lot of deserved negativity towards the team and HC but I have to acknowledge that they have made a great effort to address many of the problems. McAdoo is a great addition. They revamped the OL in free agency and the draft and now have a starting calibre QB who should be at worst, slightly better than Darnold not to mention a rookie with potential. Not sure how or if this will translate to wins but the focus was there in the offseason.
  2. Good assessment. I think Tepper has done a lot of things wrong out of the gate but Snyder is in another tier altogether.
  3. The compete thing is coach speak and I think it happens all the time. Similar to comments made about Ickey, I dont think the team wants to anoint anyone based on how they came to the team. Probably sets a bad tone for the other 50 guys battling for PT. I think everyone in the building including Sam would logically conclude that Baker will be the W1 starter barring some injury or unforseen fallout. But cutting Sam is another matter. I dont think cutting Sam gives you an advantage. For all his faults, Sam seems like a team player and he does not seem to be a problem in the locker room and will probably accept whatever role. Sam is going to make his cash and as a backup it is an easy way to make 19 million. I think/hope Rhule and Co know they need to pay attention to the Rookie and make sure he has chances and can develop so something like this can be managed and not detrimental to his growth. Not sure if all 3 will be active on game day but would hope the further we get into the season, barring injury it is more Mayfield and Corral if you are only suiting up 2 QBs.
  4. Competition is relative. I suspect Baker has a strong confidence going into campl
  5. If you are looking for the familiarity of disappointment and mediocrity you have come to the right place. I really respect your decision not to bandwagon on a front runner. From a roster perspective there are many positives as we have a young albeit undersized defense that will likely have problems with the run. Behind the front 7 we are actively trying to sign every CB that has ever played in the NFL. On the other side of the ball we have a generational talent at RB but he seems to be very injury prone since he started dating a super model. We also have a young up and coming receiver in DJ Moore who quietly does his job and is at the top of his game. In contrast, at receiver 2 we have a seasoned vet in Robbie Anderson who doesn't do his job very well but is not so quiet and is often posting nonsensical musings on the twitter We also have a room full of QBs that has one unproven rookie and 3 others we rescued from the land of misfit toys. Welcome aboard.
  6. She wrote the scouting report about his pocket presence and deep balls
  7. Not my business. Let Zach do Zach. And his moms best friend…
  8. I mean. He’s behaved big like a douche/diva/incoherent toddler but I don’t know that it is cut worthy just yet. Especially cause I think we loose a good chunk of cash.
  9. I hate being so negative regarding Rhule but it’s the reality. I will try to give him some rope because I don’t have the strength to hate or the ability to change the situation. I hope we play competitive football but I think the team strives for .500.
  10. I pied this post even though I fall into the “weird Af” category. I agree he had a down year and really hope he turns it around this year. I think the big problem with the ridicule is he makes himself an easy target. If you are going to drop as many balls as he did you probably shouldn’t be posting nonsensical look at me posts without expecting the consequences. I don’t hate Robbie, I just wish he would catch more and post less.
  11. Good write up and props to spending the time. I think the organization has a lot of problems but they have done some things right. The approach seems to be rudderless at this point but I do think Tepper wants to win and will dedicate resources to that goal even though doesn’t know what it takes to do that yet. Rhule looks to be in over his head but maybe he can learn to trade water with the folks he has surrounded himself with. Im a fan of the team and just hope for the best. But then again, I’m an NC State grad so I’ve learned to take mediocrity and disappointment with grace.
  12. Not a bad strategy. But if we had done that there would be a multitude of threads blasting the team about complacency and not wanting to get better. Fan base will not be satisfied until we have our guy no matter what the approach is.
  13. Robbie brings a lot of this on himself. His stats last year say he should keep his head down and be quiet. If he simply limited the talk, the backlash would not be as harsh.
  14. Can’t be the first time he’s coaching a player that did not have ideal tools. When such things happen in the workplace there are often lamentations but at the end of the day everyone realizes they need to do their fuuking job. Sometimes it means molding clay and sometimes making chicken salad out of chicken poo but I think Coach is up to the task
  15. Whether you agree with the mayfield acquisition or not (I was against it but oh well) I like the fact that the FO actually negotiates and tries to get the best terms possible.
  16. Robbie strikes me as not having much of a filter and does not really think about consequences before speaking. Most of the time I simply can’t figure out what he is trying to say.
  17. The glass half full in me says the infusion of seasoned pro staff should help to improve this. I just hope there’s no hole in the bottom of my solo cup
  18. Well said. I think at this point blind people that have no concept of football understand Darold's limitations.
  19. As a prospect, I see Corral with starting potential. My worst case scenario is we got a backup and he is an upgrade over PJ. On paper Im optimistic we have upgraded the position and good use of the pick. I don’t expect Corral to start right now. Time will tell if this is accurate.
  20. Good way to sum it up. If Hurney were around I would be looking for Darnold to be IRd due to a deep paper cut on his non throwing hand. Will be interesting to see how TC plays out.
