  1. He’s a coach in every sense of the word. Could be giving an interview about a football game or 3rd period gym class. Doesn’t seem to be any glamour in him. Very refreshing.
  2. I get this sense also. I predict a close game and lots of bitching (rightfully so) directed at the OL.
  3. Cool stuff in the NFL. Makes me want to ditch work go play with a bunch of puppy dogs
  4. In people’s minds, because the dominos fell right for Gilmore and Henderson, all outlandish and highly improbable trades and deals have suddenly become highly probable. In some people’s minds. I will choose to find comfort in the fact that this FO is constantly working to improve the teams competitiveness. I might not hear about all of the pursuits and many won’t work out but they are actively working to make these things happen. Just trying to enjoy the journey.
  5. Simply put but this appears to be the trajectory. Lots of young talent. Not breaking the bank and using cap wisely it certainly isn’t boring.
  6. Agree. I missed the news that a team was planning on releasing an all pro OL. Apparently, if it’s not a lineman the FO should just bury their heads in the sand and ignore improvement in other areas. I just don’t get the logic in some of these posts. If there are upgrades available, regardless of position, and at the right price, this front office is looking. If anything this should provide comfort in knowing that they are probably actively trying to work deals that we haven’t even heard about. Whether or not they turn into anything is another matter but I don’t think people on Mint St. have their feet propped up on the desk watching the clock.
  7. You live in your parents basement. Time for you to do your homework and wash those Big Lots, pee stained Danny White sheets.
  8. Darn old had some bad throws and decisions. Not sure that it was because of him, the defense or the OL. That said, he seemed to respond to that and overcome it. He made some good plays down the stretch to get it within one score. Always thought there would be bumps in the road but felt we could work out some stuff with Sam. Still feel that way.
  9. Zod has another thread for this sorta stuff…
  10. According to my “research” (I.e I quickly scanned a Wikipedia page), the young man turns 23 tomorrow. That said he is young, has barely been a professional for a year and just had his life turned upside down. I can see this being an awkward situation for anyone and when you consider he is an introvert by nature I think it went well. I will give home some leeway before judging. Let’s see what happens. happy birthday CJ and welcome to Carolina
  11. It might be in part attributed to the way Snow schemes. Exploit the confusion on offense and feast.
  12. Patience is not very common in these parts. I
  13. In before “why don’t we just trade for their left tackle instead?”
  14. If I’m not mistaken he is tied with me for for regular season games played, catches and yards. Are you saying no one is trading for me either? feelings hurt.
  15. Yeah. This makes a lot of sense. The deal has some risk but there is major upside if it falls right. perfect scenario: he balls out and we end up with 3 starting caliber corners in Horn, Jackson and Henderson. Steal for the Panthers Not so perfect scenario: I think you come out ahead if he ends up being just a stop gap this year for Horn and then becomes nothing more than a depth piece. disaster scenario: He totally busts this year and barely sees the field. Still don’t think you lose too much but it’s hard to swallow.
  16. Well put. Perryman ended up being a bad experiment for the team so they salvaged what they could. Arnold may have been the chess piece for acquiring a long term CB. This FO sees players as both players and assets that can be moved for the betterment of the team. sounds cold but it’s business.
  17. I think these folks believe that the action to acquire a CB means that the team is disinterested in improving the OL. It’s a ridiculous mindset
