You realize he's gonna make $15 million this year even without a contract extension, right? And that the franchise tag for NFL QBs in 2014 was $17 million? And will be higher than that in 2015? And higher than THAT in 2016 (the first year Cam could be tagged)? And that franchise tag salary is all applied to a single years cap since none of it is bonus that can be pro-rated across the term of the contract? So explain to me again how a long-term deal averaging $20 million for their Pro Bowl franchise QB would be bad for the franchise?

If that was all it was, it would be easier to ignore. The fact is though that what they want is for the players they don't like (like Cam) to FAIL, because in the great scheme of things they place their desire to be "right" over the Panthers winning and building for consistent success over a long period of time.

I'll believe that when Hardy and his agent Drew Rosenhaus come out in public saying that they'd be willing to do that. I've watched Rosenhaus for years and I can't think of a single time where he allowed his client to play for LESS money than they are worth on the NFL market playing a game that can end your career in a split second. Hardy may be that stupid. I'm thinking that Rosenhaus is not. (And, in all seriousness, I think Hardy is smart as well and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that he would agree to such a thing in the end either.)

There was plenty of material introduced into evidence by both sides in the first trial. Some of that evidence might be pictures of the purported injuries of the alleged victim. And the NFL has to ask the state for permission to gain access to those records and evidence. You think such things are open to public viewing on a web-site or something?

Which of the team leaders who are currently (as of 2015) overpaid are going to renegotiate their salaries DOWN in order to sign Greg Hardy to a long-term contract?
-
So you think its sound philosophy for players on the team to make decisions on personnel matters? Holy poo, you want this team to suck for years, don't you?
-
If any works of an attorney in defense of his client are introduced into evidence in a criminal trial, from that point on those works (or copies of those works) are records of the state and NOT the privilege of an attorney and his client. I'm surprised you don't understand this.

3 times innocent is less innocent than 1 time innocent? Interesting concept. Have you taken this to the American Bar Association?
-
So, to sum up your equivocation above, innocent is innocent for Hardy, but innocent is NOT innocent for Roethlisberger. It would have been a lot simpler if you had just said so.
-
I know that when I rant about the injustice of the Walmart goods acquisition system and their employee pay scale, THEY LISTEN!
-
I was informed after the Hardy charges were dismissed that innocent was innocent. Are you saying that innocent is innocent for Greg Hardy, but not for Ben Roethlisberger?
-
On the field, I don't disagree even a little bit. Off the field? I think he's shown time and again (even including his college days) he's a ticking time bomb.
-
He doesn't have a reputation of doing that since his Ole Miss days. AT ALL.

Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?

Can't wait until we resign him and he fugs up again and his salary against the cap is wasted AGAIN! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! -
The district attorney was theorizing?

You still seem to be under the impression that the evidentiary standards of a criminal trial are whats in play here for the NFL to take action. They're not.
-
And that we get compensatory 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks in the 2015 draft in addition to our normal picks. Might as well go whole-hog fantasy fapping if you guys are gonna fantasize.
-
Were they introduced into evidence in the first trial or not? If not, you would be correct. If so, you are wrong.
-
If the evidence from the initial trial reveals photos of a bruised and battered woman (not even saying there are such pictures, just saying *IF*), I think that would be more than enough evidence for the NFL to take action in defense of the shield's "image".
