Its ALWAYS about money. I bet you a dollar to a donut the reason that Johnson felt "disrespected" was BECAUSE OF MONEY (i.e. attempts by the team to get him to change his contract). Sounds rather familiar, actually.
-
You also understand that the dissension between he and the Texans is about money, right? So he's gonna hit free agency and all of a sudden become REASONABLE about money? When he wasn't before?
-
Because when you trade for him, that's the contract you get? You realize they are trying to trade him, right?
-
Yeah, paying a WR on the quickly accelerating downside of his career $10 million dollars per year would be just exactly the thing to fix the Panthers.
-
Not a definite cut. Its reported that if the Broncos win enough games, he'll earn all or most of it back. So its a "cut".
-
Mr. Barksdale has a very high opinion of himself, methinks. And it would seem like that number would be right around what Cobb deserves... maybe the guaranteed money that was offered was crappy?

At least someone liked my first round mock draft pick

Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks
tiger7_88 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wonder if those players would be willing to take a paycut to help sign him? And willing to pay Hardy's fine when he inevitably gets suspended? I'm sure they'd be perfectly willing to do that, don't you? -
The question on him has always been his inability to comprehend a playbook with regard to his learning disabilities. Lucky for us we have Mike Shula and the Dick & Jane offense.
-
So what you're saying is that he'd be an improvement over Byron Bell.

Mike Tolbert Attended DeAngelos Moms Funeral
tiger7_88 replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, as a journalist, she COULD have interviewed him first then checked his story. Interviewed other players. Asked around to see if any others had attended the funeral or if any other "leadership" had reached out to Williams after his mother's death. Journalists who are good at their job do that. Instead of taking one side of a story and running with it. Unless, of course, instead of a journalist, you are a fabulist. If you are a fabulist, then I think you're perfectly happy with all the attention you're getting from putting out an incredible (non-credible?) story. -

D Will says Panthers didn't reach out to him when his mother died

He did later. And he apologized for not calling earlier. And he changed team policy due to his oversight. What more do y'all want? Flogging? Crucifixion? Daaaaaaaaaaaamnnnn... -
D Will says Panthers didn't reach out to him when his mother died
tiger7_88 replied to QCkilla's topic in Carolina Panthers
It wasn't public knowledge that he had a beef with the organization over his mother's death. The only way they knew is either (1) he had told the reporterette sometime before this season or (2) he told them prior to the interview. Either way, he's begging the question. They didn't come up with it out of the damn blue. -

And yet Williams made it public by choice. -

So the only reason Williams brings it up is to re-open old wounds. -

Best point made in this entire thread. But, then again, if he did that, he would be inviting rebuttal from his teammates about WHY they weren't there, right? Maybe that's the reason? -

Couldn't disagree more. If he didn't have a problem with it still, he wouldn't have re-hashed it AT ALL. Its more than obvious he still holds a grudge about it. If mistakes were made and apologies were accepted, then its water under the bridge. Still sounds to me like Williams has built a dam. There's only one rational reason to believe he brought it up again... to place the organization into a bad light. -

Except that he specifically stated and tweeted that "owner *AND* leadership" did not reach out to him. What is Dave Gettleman if not "leadership"? -

First DeAngelo tweets that "owner and leadership" didn't reach out to him. https://twitter.com/deangelorb/status/570047602974175232 Then he states that after he called Rivera, Gettleman called him right afterwards. https://twitter.com/deangelorb/status/570045659526631425 Well... which is it? Did "leadership" not reach out? Or did Gettleman call? Sounds like he's having a tough time keeping his story straight. -

I don't have to imagine that because it happened to me. NO ONE of my co-workers knew my Mother. They expressed their condolences to me face-to-face. I certainly didn't expect anything more than that. Why should I have? Unless, of course, I think that me and my Mom were way more important than anyone else and deserved everyone else's explicit and special attention? Pay attention to me or I'll be an ass! That's kind of self-centered, don't you think? Dear DeAngelo: YOUR mother was no more important than MY mother.
