We all owe Teddy Bridgewater an apology
tiger7_88 replied to ENC Pantherfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Panthers had a place-holder. His personality was too big for Fatt Fhule though and, in comparison, made Fatt feel threatened and small. -
Ahhhh, ok. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?

A “spot” he was conscious of and accepted when he took his current position. When you accept the known circumstances of the position and accept the big Tepper money that pays you in that position, you’re not allowed to avoid responsibility for the state of the franchise. Honestly, I don’t get the Fit defenders logic. It’s like y’all think Tepper stole Fitt from an orphanage and forced him in the GM position without his approval. -
I may be mistaken, but wasn’t Kroenke lifting the Lombardi over his head earlier this year?

He accepted the “GM” job knowing that Rhule had full roster control. In doing so, he started depositing Tepper’s sweet, sweet money in his bank account. Know what that means? That means Fitterer bought in to the way things were being done when he accepted the job. Which makes him, along with Rhule and Tepper, culpable for the current state of the franchise as well.

The more that comes out. The more it shows how deep the issues are

The more you hang on to the failed past, the more your past becomes present. -
HELL YE… ummmmm Just remembered, Tepper is still the owner.

So is every thread locked down except for the game thread? lol

Sweet! So the Panthers have a GM that’s happy and comfortable not having control over personnel? Sounds like a keeper!

Well, yeah… the NFL since the 1990’s has made it damn well clear that they don’t think it’s wise to try to sell defensive slug-fests that end with a score of 10-7. They want to sell EXCITEMENT and SCORING and have changed rules throughout the rule-book to make that easier than defense and running the ball. And yet this organization, though originating in the 1990’s, still (under 2 different owners) operates considering defense and running the ball as priorities #1 and #2. (P.S. Nothing I said above is meant to be construed as saying that defense isn’t important and running the ball isn’t useful in a gameplan. But their relative importance in todays NFL is *less* than that of being able to THROW THE DAMN BALL.)

I honestly love it when Carolina, Tampa, or Florida win the SC. Fug you Canadians and yankees, eh!

If you don’t like the QBs available, always always always go LT or DE. ”Oh but we just drafted a LT!” Then draft another one and play the better one at LT and move the other one to RT or the interior. Its never a bad thing to continue to build your OL and DL, especially on the edge and *especially* if the talent is elite.

As soon as the Panthers got new ownership, I was (virtually) SCREAMING on this forum that the new owner MUST clean house. But no. Retained MoRon, who was and continues to be a failure. Retained Hurn Dog who was a PROVEN failure. Hired a failure in Matt Rhule. Then retained HIM as he failed year after year after year. Its arguable if Tepper is the worst owner in football. Snyder and Haslam *might* be worse. What isn’t arguable is that, as of today, Tepper might own the worst *organization* in professional football.

Only until MoRon ran Cam into the ground until Cam broke, then he looked a lot like Rhule… especially after McDermott pulled the eject to go to Buffalo.

So you’re saying that the G-men are 4-1 with a new coach using a team stocked with Davie G’s talent?

Jason La Canfora on the Panthers Future and CMC
tiger7_88 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, but Tepper wanted Rhule so damn bad I would almost guarantee you that there is no “offset” language in his contract. Which would mean if Tepper fired him, Rhule would get the contractual payout on his Carolina contract *and* sign a fresh, new, full college contract afterwards. -
This is, indeed, a scary point. Somewhere in the INFINITE, existing, parallel universes, there's a David Tepper who NO MATTER WHAT keeps sticking with Matt Rhule, year after year, until Matt Rhule finally "gets it" and has a winning season. For the simple reason that David Tepper would like to point to the low, dirty yokels and say "SEE! I TOLD YOU SO! I WAS RIGHT AFTER ALL!" Let us all hope and pray that this particular universe is not our own.

The sad fact about CMC is he's almost *always* gonna be either a "little" or a "lot" injured.
