100% accurate. If they have ANY hope of moving Darnold, they’re going to have to eat a hefty portion of that contract (like they did with Bridgewater) and, even then, would likely get nothing more than AT BEST a 5th rounder.

Cam Newton is now top 25 in all time Rushing Touchdowns

Did they “rig” that game to ensure that Manning only had 150 passing yards, zero passing TDs, and an interception? -

But, according to you, HoF QBs always throw BB’s and win Champioships purely through the virtue of their passing skills. So you are now denying your previously-stated view? -

And there it is, the ol’ “he was a football player” trope. Maybe you should also have described him as not a QB but an “athlete”? I only suspected before, but now I know. Thanks for finally outing yourself. -

Then explain Peyton Manning in Super Bowl 50. I know the correct answer, I’m just interested in seeing how you backtrack from your clearly stated position above. -
Impossible angles from the sideline. That’s why “film” has been a thing in football for what? Going on 60 years now? Maybe Rhule will hear about this amazing innovation one day.

As was @CRA

100% correct. And here’s the REALLY scary thing… Matt Rhule, with regard to coaching level and talent at the college level, wasn’t even a *shadow* of a Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. (Or even a Steve Spurrier.)

Cam optioned to that terrible 4th and 1 call
tiger7_88 replied to Tr3ach's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would like to think, when it comes to this, the OP and his ilk would return and take a knee while exclaiming “Mea culpa! Mea culpa! Mea maxima culpa!” But they won’t, because right or wrong has no reference in their minds when it comes to their primary goal… which is Cam Hate. -

John Ellis is a Carolina TREASURE. Tells it straight, good or bad. -
This Sunday - a likely reality for us Cam stans

Definitely putting out those “So excited to coach Cam Newton!” vibes from Rhule circa early 2020. i.e. In other words, hypocrisy and lies. -
Even amateurs who have watched football know that (most) QBs at the highest levels have “audibles”. Those who understand football a little better understand that the QB doesn’t “check check check” to an audible on a damn whim… he reads the opposing defense. Where is the MLB? Where are the safeties? Is the defense in man or zone? Is there an obvious blitzer? If, after reading the defense, the QB determines that the defense is lined up to the conditions defined for the “audible”, he checks to another play. Who defines the “conditions” to check to the audible? The HC/OC, *not* the fugging QB. The QB is merely following instructions. Who determines the “audible” play? The play-caller (usually the OC) *not* the QB. (And, in this case, the play-caller was Fat Fhules best bud and bro in bro-mance, Nixon.) This has been crystal clear since the moment the disastrous play happened. Yet the usual suspects immediately jumped in with the Cam hate. Including his incompetent head coach.

The blessed GIF is more appropriate than ever, don't you think?

Horn is an excellent player. Organizations that build their teams from the edge-in instead of from the interior-out are easy to spot at the highest levels of football though. Because they lose. A lot.
-
Hell, I remember his first days BLATANTLY lying about “how excited” he was to coach Cam Newton and 99% of this forum giving him a pass, calling it “coach speak”. No, Rhule was and is an arrogant and utterly dishonest cockroach and its nice to see eyes finally opening around Panther Nation about that.

If a team could be convinced to trade up and give Carolina more picks, that would be ideal. Hell, I don’t care if they trade down to the 2nd round, as long as they get a haul of picks of reasonable compensation in return, it would be worth it. Why? Because this team ain’t a one-year fix. A single 1st round pick doesn’t come NEAR fixing this teams rotten core. They need MORE top 100 picks, not a single top 10 pick. That being said, in either case (trade down or not), they need to pick OL as a priority then LB and DL as a lesser priority. NOT quarterback. If Fitterer can’t turn that 1st round goose into a pick-haul golden egg, this new, fresh RE-rebuild is gonna be longer and more painful than anyone can imagine.

And yet the smithers of the world will do their utmost to cover for chubby Rhule and not for Cam. Gosh, I wonder what the difference between the two could be? Probably because one is fit and one is chubby, right?
-
I wonder where the corresponding statement is by Rhule where OL should help out their QB’s but not stepping on their feet? I guess, according to Rhule, Cam doesn’t deserve “a little help from his friends”? Good ol’ Sam does, gosh darn it!

You should. Great movie. Short description: Beane understands that Oakland is a low-budget team, can't spend on elite free-agents, can't keep their own, good, self-developed players from leaving as free-agents because he can't pay them either, so he decides to build a roster on "metrics". Signs imperfect bargain-basement players due to their favorable "metrics" and not because (as the scouts in the movie would say) "he looks like a baseball player". Art Howe, the manager, continues to play the guys he likes who "look like baseball players" but continue to fail. Billy Beane trades Art Howe's boys for money and a soda-machine and leaves Art Howe only with Beane's "metrics" players. The A's win 23 in a row and make the playoffs. Based on real people and teams, yes, but (of course) HIGHLY fictionalized and that's what makes it a good movie.

Cam holds Cam accountable. If you haven't seen that over these many years, you're blind. Now, with that being said, can you point out to me all these times that Rhule threw Darnold and his boy P.J. under the bus to the media?
-
Translated: "The owner forced Cam Newton on me and now I'm gonna show him who the real boss is here!" Probably not a wise career choice. Shades of Moneyball's Art Howe/Billy Beane showdown with regard to players (yes, I know Beane was the GM not the owner, but roll with me here).
-
Remember good ol’ MoRon’s “I would have taken the shot too!” This organization has always been sooooooooo respectful and appreciative of Cam Newton.
-
My dude, you know that “blame Cam” is the fugging default setting for half or more of this forum. Why are you surprised the idiot chubster who fills the role of Head Coach on this team would be any different?
