  1. So...you want to build a Little wall?
  2. yes yes, we all get what you're saying but there is no chance he drops to us. NONE. Even if he gets to the Lions, someone could leap frog us and get him.
  3. The comparison of him saying that Darnold is like Bitcoin, early Bitcoin, breh....no. I get what he was going for but that comparison was just not it brother. He made some points that I think everyone here knows. It's low risk high reward with him. That's about it.
  4. If Sewell falls, I'd be so happy with just that pick, but this draft would really make this team be able to compete.
  5. Oof, potentially that could have been a higher pick or more picks. Hmm..
  6. Jesus fuging christ, little to no pre-snap motions in that offense. I mean, Darnold might as well been out there with a fuging Crystal ball trying to figure out the Defense.
  7. You're asking for a very specific situation, but I'll give you an example of a QB with promise that only needed better coaches. Baker Mayfield. Say what you want from him, but he was touted as a franchise guy with the arm strength and talent and swag. Jackson, Greg Williams, Kitchens Basically had no clue how to run an offense or how to use Mayfield. They have a horrendous season in 2018 and 2019 resulting in a top 10 pick again, it's the browns. Enter Stefanski, a brilliant offensive mind that helped the Vikes get to the playoffs and really get a lot from that offense, he brings in his own OC an DC. In the draft they get an OT for their line, get him weapons, change the system to fit Mayfield and the story and results speak for themselves. Mayfield had potential and with the change of coaching staff, not necessarily him leaving Cleveland, but changing the scenery in the brass, he went from having a 59.4% Comp percentage to a respectable 62.8%. and he also lowered his turn over ratio, something everyone said of him in 2019. "He's a turn over machine, he throws as many picks as he throws TD's" (sound familiar?) and it was evident with the numbers if you look at the Ratio. 22-21 ratio and it went to 26-8. That's a HUGE improvement. let's take a look at Darnold. Same situation, different car I suppose. As you can see here, his TD/INT ratio is pretty even. Not good. You can apply the same situation to Darnold. Coaching staff that really didn't help him. He had no real weapons and an Oline that makes our look like studs. Change the scenery, change the coaching staff to ours. Rhule, Brady, Fitterer, they will make sure he gets a fair shot and will more than likely give him every opportunity he may need to succeed. If he doesn't the foundation will be set and ready for the person that WILL succeed. So really there's no were to go but up here. Panthers have been busy in the off season, they fortified the defense and not a lot of you are talking about this or even acknowledging it. A young QB's best friends are a safety blanket TE or RB, a decent Oline, and a stout Defense. On paper the defense is stout now, and we have CMC and POSSIBLY a TE in Arnold. All that's left is that OT or Oline help. That's it. And of course, the coaching staff and Darnold to put in the effort and work. Believe me, I am absolutely sure Darnold is ecstatic to get to start over and especially with a team that HAS weapons. I am sure the coaching staff is also as excited to have a QB that actually will hit players further than 30 yards and in stride and not throw behind or go off script and then not recognize it. It's a win win man.
  8. I mean, Davis wasn't a spring Chicken and he worked out. Whatever is cheaper to be honest, late round pick or vet min, whatever.
  9. At this point anything would be nice. Although I think a 4th would be the ceiling to be honest. If we're lucky a player that would be useful.
  10. Sounds familiar...didn't this happen sometime last year with another QB?
  11. I'm not the one to give Teddy a pass but it seems to me that Darnold is the complete opposite of Teddy. Teddy has had REALLY good teams around him and he somehow has not been good enough to take those teams over the hump. The Vikings with that Defense AND Peterson (still in his prime), the Saints with that DEFENSE and Weapons. Finally our team that well, had a promising D and decent O but the common denomiator here is Teddy. He was JUST NOT ENOUGH. Darnold on the other hand has played with poo. poo team, poo D, insane coaching staff, like a laughable O, about the only good thing from that O was their recently picked Tackle and Anderson, who is a Panther now. I'm not saying He's going to light it up, but I am saying that you're giving him a team that isn't as bad as the one he left and is already an upgrade to the QB he's replacing. Also you get at least 2 years to see if he's gonna be enough, and if he isn't well you gonna get replaced. That 2nd rounder allowed you to take a good look at him and build towards the future that includes him if he's good or doesn't if he's not the guy. Regardless this team will get better with or without him. If it's without him then it will be for the guy that is the one. I'm just glad they are not being stupid and stubborn like Rivera and the former brass that just had to stick to a guy even though there was someone better behind them or available. Yes it creates a lot of turn around but you're bound to find the right guy.
  12. If Darnold flops, potentially giving us a top 3 pick......at this point, the next QB he picks would be his last. I would like to think, since he signed a 10 year deal or however long that was. So he'd be safe but it would be his last chance I'd think, so yeah, I guess it would be the hot seat.
  13. It seems that the consensus is that Darnold could be a Tannehill type of situation. That getting away from a toxic system and have weapons and a competent coaching staff. The question here is who will have the pressure the most? Darnold or the brass for making this move?
  14. That's a hefty price to pay for Teddy's replacement man. I mean Imagine having a MVP QB play out his contract instead of signing a back up QB and then Trading for QB that isn't that much better? Feels like they are shooting themselves in the foot trying to be cute and smart. I commend them for trying to right the wrongs but at some point they will have to become a little wiser on the whole QB thing.
  15. Might as well get a player for him, because ain't no one giving up a 3rd. Maybe a 6th round pick, I guess we could recoup that. lol
  16. Wait wait wait...so, if for whatever reason one of the QB's falls to us at 8, you're saying the Panthers will take that QB AND still have Darnold? For example, Fields/Lance falls to 8. They still take the QB?
  17. Hopefully the only picks we see him throw on Sundays.
  18. I've been on my knees deepthroating for this team for over 2 decades man. I'm beyond embracing the suck.
  19. For those that are ignant like me, what does conditional mean?
  20. I don't see as a downgrade. Physically Darnold is ahead of Teddy, age wise as well. Put Teddy B on the Jets and he doesn't get a win. This is a lateral move at worst.
  21. Ugh..a 2nd round pick. I don't care if they added a 6th...It is essentially a 2nd round pick. Objectively speaking, if he works out, that 2nd round pick will be great value. At least it's not Teddy B.
  22. A swap without giving up picks is the best case scenario. This would be Ideal for us, I'm not sure if the Jets would like that tho.
