Thank you for the post and the videos.
Hubbard will look bigger after he's been in the Strength and Conditioning program for a full year.

Wilson reportedly had a much better day two including an 80-yard bomb to fellow rookie Elijah Moore.

isn’t the NCAA where you can coach up meager talent and win.
My casual observation of college football is you recruit overwhelmingly better talent and win year after year (Bama, OSU, Clemson...(

Everybody at that point still thought the Niners were taking Mac Jones (not that this would have anything to do with system fit).
The best read I've been able to make based on all the info surrounding the draft is that Fitterer and Rhule would only have been interested in a QB they saw as a sure fire franchise quarterback, and the only guys they saw fitting that description were Lawrence and Wilson.
Frankly, it's not like they'd have been alone in that viewpoint.
Opinions on this QB class were all over the place. Fit and Rhule certainly would have not been alone, but they would also have had plenty of scouts and fellow GMs disagree with them, especially the ones who staked their teams to Jones, Lances, and Fields. Those teams drafted them because they believed they are franchise guys.

Sounds like our DBs are already getting roasted
I'm not overly concerned about it, yet. It's highlights. Those plays are going to be more exciting to post/talk about. I've also read that our DLine has had to pull up many times because they busted through the line, but since its practice, the play continued. That pass rush will help the coverage.

Yeah, those 6-8 game losing streaks in the second half of the season really suck. Hopefully we've gotten all of those out of our system.
The second half our schedule is BRUTAL. A losing streak isn't out of the question.

really hope frit does not take the god awful hurney/gettleman approach of no contract talk/extensions during the season. that approach has let some real talent walk out our doors
21 hours ago, Mr. Scot said:I think that was just Gettleman. Don't remember Hurney doing that.
Fitterer addressed this question in his press conference opening camp:
"My philosophy would be when the time's right, who the player is, who the agent is. If it's natural. If it's the right time to do it. I'm not going to say we're never going to talk during the season. I'm not going to say we're always going to talk. It's just kind of a case a case situation."

You think they start Wilson week 1?
The Jets will 100% start Wilson week 1.
This is the Jet's QB depth chart:
Morgan is a 2020 4th rounder from Florida International.
White is a free agent signed in 2019. Undrafted in 2018 out of Western Kentucky. On and off of the practice squad for both Dallas and the Jets.

Let's say the Carolina Panthers come out this season and start off 4-0 in convincing fashion. Not close wins. Not flukes. They come out and win in all phases of the game.
At that point, will your excitement level be that of a playoff football team once again?
Excitement would be high. Our first four are the Jets, Saints (missing Michael Thomas), Texans, and Cowboys. We should be favored over the Jets and Texans. Saints should be interesting. Cowboys I'm expecting to be better than last year.
2-2 at worst. 4-0 at best. Chances are really good to make the playoffs stating 4-0.

It probably won't be until closer to the end of camp, but I'll be nervous every day we're practicing on the far fields. It seems like we lose someone to an ACL every year on that practice field.

I'm pretty much in agreement with many in this thread. I would love to have Watson, but certainly not at the price being discussed in the media.
We chose our hand when we choose Darnold over Fields. Now, we've got to play it out and hope for the best.

According to this, he was:
https://www.giants.com/news/james-bradberry-pro-football-focus-all-pro-blake-martinez-2020-season
He was also named to the real pro-bowl as well. Shaq on the other hand was one of the worst ranked guys on our D. I think a Bradberry/Horn tandem would have made for a nice D.
Unlikely we're as bad on third down (and therefore value Horn as highly) if Bradberry is here. We might have gone in another direction in the draft.

This is my guy. I hope he makes the team and eventually becomes a solid backup MLB, ST ace.
He's the only MLB listed on the roster beside Perryman. I think he makes it. Everyone else is listed as Will or SAM.

I'm more of the thinking that Dan Arnold is going to surprise people with his production and limit Tremble's opportunities with the ball.

I'm always optimistic this time of year. We've got over 80 days before football is played again. I'm going to be optimistic until they show reasons on the field for concern.
The best thing about this upcoming season, at least early on, will be being back inside a packed out BoA screaming along with the other Panthers fans.

"Sam Darnold is a better quarterback than Danny Dimes [Daniel Jones]." - Keyshawn Johnson on ESPN radio June 8th. He went onto say that he believes that with a healthy CMC and an improved defense, the Panthers will make the playoffs.

Ian Thomas will have 800 yards and 8 tds.
Assuming 50 - 60 receptions, that would have been good for TE4 last year in PPR leagues last year. I think your projection is wildly optimistic. He's going undrafted in almost all leagues so you can get him whenever you want.

What is more likely:
1)Darnold with a better oline, wrs, running back, OC and HC plays much better than Bridgewater....along with JC Horn improving our secondary substantially.
or
2)The 4th QB chosen in the draft from Ohio State goes to the BEARS and balls out.
If I had to pick, I say 1 is more likely.
Still scouting the helmet and not the player. Okay...

Rhule is in charge per the Old Guy

Tepper himself has said he was responsible for moving on from Cam. He said he wanted his "own guy".
