QB PJ Walker.  NFL Stats: 32/56 (57.1%) 368 yards, 1 TDs, 5 INTs

P.J. Walker XFL stats Walker started in five XFL games, and went 5-0 while tearing defenses apart. He averaged 267.6 passing yards and three passing touchdowns per game. He was also strong as a runner, with 24 carries for 99 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

    6-0 as a starter

Guys in the XFL were in the XFL for a reason. If we played XFL caliber defenses, his XFL stats might be relevant. Since we don't, only his NFL stats are relevant.

OK. 22 QBs chosen in the top half of the first round from 2011-19. First year of rookie deals that changed everything.

7 are(were) worthy of that status. Cam, Luck, Watson, Mahomes, Allen, Mayfield, Murray. Tannehill and Goff could go either way.

13 were busts. Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Manuel, RG111, Bortles, Winston, Mariota, Darnold, Haskins, Rosen, Trubisky, Jones.

So of 20, there is a 35% a team gets a franchise QB. Of all those busts, who “turned” it around? Tannehill was on his 2nd contract, with a major injury, on the team that drafted him.

Can you do the same exercise for 1st round CBs?

Kudos to @ncfan and @shaqattaq. It always easy to go back years later and say 'oh we could have had X' but NCFan was right here moments after the pick with "just with Chauncey Gardner-johnson sitting there, I wouldve jumped on him." and Shaq is right there in agreement.

I never get on someone for a bad take. If you put your takes out there, you're gonna put out some terrible ones eventually, but I like giving people kudos when they get it right.

  4. Sorry to hear about this and wish you a speedy recovery.

I hate to sound pessimistic, but after eighteen months of dealing with this, I just don't think we're going to beat this thing. We're going to have to learn how to live with it someway, somehow.

    (Note: I am fully vaccinated).

Hey if B.Zylstra caught half his passes that percent is near %75 completion rate...

Them two just couldn't connect for some reason...

And if some of the other receivers hadn't made nice plays to catch balls thrown behind them that percent would have been worse.

We can play the hypothetical game all day long it won't turn PJ Walker into an NFL backup.

The joint practices are much better than playing a series or three in a preseason game. On these practices you see film after you play and can go up against the same guys the next  day to correct it.  After games you either don't get a chance to play them again or have to wait weeks or months for a second chance. Hence the reason that playing a series or two in a preseason game is highly over-rated.

The coaches also have more control over the situations (down & distance, red zone, 2 minute, player X versus player Y) that they want to get reps in the joint practice. In the preseason game, the coaches just have to deal with whatever situations present themselves.
