Are we willing to wait? He may not be available until after February 12 [if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl]. That's a week after the Senior Bowl.

On the broadcast, they said BC was an ankle injury. Corbett is certainly the more concerning one. An ankle injury will heal well before training camp. A knee might not, depending on the severity.

LA Chargers loses their Wildcard game with Jacksonville. Staley is fired. LAC trades for Sean Payton. All predictions wrong or your money back!

We won't need to draft a QB after we sign Lamar Jackson in free agency.

That way when Tepper gets enamored with the next plate of meatballs, he can move quickly.

Not really. Rooney demands two external minority candidates. Ryans could be the second.
-
Wilks is an internal candidate. To satisfy the Rooney Rule, you must interview two external minority candidates.
-
Wonderful news. I'm happy to hear this.
-
Wilks strikes me as a 9-8, 8-9 coach. Some years that gets you in as a wildcard, others you just miss the playoffs. The ceiling for him is probably the divisional round.

Report: Panthers to interview Jim Caldwell, Frank Reich
trueblade replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is going to be like the GM search. We're going to talk to a bunch of people. -
No, he's not. We'd have to find another former QB turned Head Coach who took his team to the Super Bowl in a previous job. What are the odds of finding someone like that...
-
Amazing what hiring a former QB turned Super Bowl level coach (Pederson) did for Jacksonville. Wouldn't it be something if we could hire someone like that?

Playing hard, right to 7-10, and missing the playoffs...

Jim Harbaugh flirting with the Carolina Panthers UPDATE
trueblade replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every coach has friends and trusted people they like to work with. See also Steve Wilks and Al Holcomb. -
Are you watching the Panthers tomorrow
trueblade replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
We only get seventeen regular season games to watch our team. I'm going to watch every time they take the field. -
Missed opportunity.. They should have done a Cornhole tournament with the team captains instead of the coin flip. ESPN could have televised it. People could have placed bets.
-
So your position is one ring does not make a successful coach?
-
That's not what I'm saying at all. Everyone wants sustained success. Here's my premise you're debating: If the next coach gets us one ring, it was a successful hire. You're saying you don't agree with that?
-
Gotta get one before you can worry about any of that. We have zero. Do whatever it takes to get the first one and then figure it out.
-
If our next coach (whoever that is) gets us a Ring, it was the right hire.

The NFL could look to expand the playoff fields to 8 teams, with the Bills-Bengals game not being made up. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/05/nfl-ponders-playoff-seeding-without-playing-bills-bengals/
