A) their defense is going to be one of the best in the league
B) as you say its way too early to be thinking of draft picks
C) they had a chance to draft both Mac and fields and they didnt
They have an under rated set of skill players too. Sutton looks to be 100% back from his ACL and Jeudy is a good receiver. Fant is a top 10 TE, and by Week 4, more people than just the state of NC and Fantasy Football players are going to know the name Javonte Williams..

No one is giving the Texans even close to what they want given the massive black clouds hanging over Watson's head right now. They pretty much only have two choices - trade him for much less than they seem him to be worth or sit tight and hope the clouds pass.
Even if they traded him, the return (the draft picks) can't be used until next April/May. His value skyrockets as soon as there is clarity from the legal system/league on how much time he will miss. There's no reason to trade him before next offseason. He'll get a year off from getting hit every week behind the Texans Oline and cash those big checks.

I To the unvaccinated those are going to be the ones in the hospital and costing their teams games.
Since your statement includes "and costing their teams games" it puts 'the unvaccinated' in the context of NFL players (not the general population). So last season, pre-vaccine, how many NFL players who had COVID last season wound up in the hospital?

Update: Sportrac says we've moved to #2.

I seriously wouldn’t mind taking a look at DeAnthony Thomas. The Black Mamba could add some juice to the PR team.
He's DAT fast.

That was also before this season. If we go out and kick some ass this year, or at least show a lot of improvement on offense, why wouldn't one of them want to come here?
If we do "go out and kick some ass this year", that would pretty much mean Darnold had a great year. Why would they want to come here? Why would we want them?

That list isn't exactly prestigious company. Some serious playoffs droughts in there. Let's hope some leaders stand out for us this season.
Browns at 3, Rams at 6 and Indy at 8 are the only playoff teams in the top 10. Tampa at 30, and KCC at 23.

Stafford said he would turn down trade here so I would say if he doesn’t want to be here, why would any of the others?
Stafford didn't want to come here because we didn't look like a contender, and LA did. That's not an inaccurate assessment.
As for next offseason, if we have a terrible year, we'll be no more appealing to an aging veteran franchise QB than we were this offseason, and if we have a great year, we still won't be appealing because it'll probably be because Sam did pretty good, and we won't be seen as having an opening at the QB spot.

As of 8/31/2021 at 7:35 p.m., we are fourth youngest team in the league.
- Jets 25.1
- Lions 25.2
- Browns 25.3
- Panthers 25.3
- Jaguars 25.5
These young guys would be used to Rhule's college ways. It might be helping with Rhule's transition to be so young.

I don't mind the idea of playing smashmouth football and leaning on this defense, I just question whether we have the personnel to actually run it...
It's just a hard way to win in today's offense driven NFL. Much less room for error. It's kind of like do you want to be the goalie or the striker. As the goalie (smashmouth + defense) you have to be perfect every time, but as the striker (high flying offense) you only have to be perfect once.

So that's 2 significant FAs who didn't even make it threw camp. The other got trade.
2 of them we kept eflein and Erving are also ones that should be on the street right now.
Fitt is showing so far that FA agency signings from other teams is not gonna be his nitch.

Fitt was primarily on the college side for Seattle. We've seen before our existing pro personnel people leave much to be desired. I'd wait until after an FA season with Dan Morgan in the building before you judge Fitts on his FA skillz.

This argument is getting stale, the amount of temple players who have been cut. PJ Walker is just better and with development can be a starter. I'll stand on that.

Sorry if this has already been said
The best part of this news is that it means we can all come together as Panthers fan and cheer on Chinn, Horn, Burns and company as they destroy Mac Jones on Nov 8.

Coaches absolutely have the leeway to eliminate all unvaccinated players.
On a similar topic, what's the make/miss roster-spot count on all the players who voluntarily sat out last season?
67 players who opted out of the 2020 NFL season. I don't have the time to look up if they made their teams or not. I imagine quite a few of the Patriots players did.

Let's go get Josh Rosen too.
Rosen didn't look awful playing with the scrubs Monday night.

Weirdly enough, Belichick was quoted just this morning as saying that Newton was "going in the right direction".
Apparently the right direction was out the door
So what I'm seeing is Rhule isn't the only coach to talk a guy up before kicking him to the curb?

Well, I learned something today. There was a guy named "Aaron Monteiro" in the NFL and evidently he was on the Panthers' roster.
He was the guy that got beat like a drum by Burns in one of the few early camp Tweets.
Question for you 50 years plus folk (and others)?

It's probably like most things in life. You think one would satisfy until you get the one. Then after a while you realize it doesn't satisfy and you want a second, a third, a fourth...
