To me, the obvious solution/outcome for both the Panthers and the Browns would be a trade of Sam Darnold for Baker Mayfield straight up. The money is a wash for both teams and both teams get a new QB to sell to their fan base. Cleveland simply sells the idea it was our terrible line plus a greenhorn OC that caused Sam's issues and that Darnold will thrive under Stefanski's QB friendly system. The thing most likely holding it up is the uncertainty around Deshaun Watson's suspension. I think the Browns feel good about Jacoby Brissett getting them through a six-game Watson suspension. They will want another option if Deshaun is out for longer.

Ask these guys were new head coaches in 2020. All of them dealt with the same COVID issues. All but one has posted a better record than Matt Rhule and the one that didn't is no longer a head coach. Kevin Stefanski - Browns. 19-14 Mike McCarthy - Cowboys. 18-15 Ron Rivera - Washington. 14-19 Matt Rhule - Panthers. 10-23 Joe Judge - Giants. 10-23 [Judge was fired following the 2021 season]

My loyalties are clear, but come on, are we really breaking down some warmup throws in OTAs? Gonna be a long summer.

Who was below us when we were 28th? NYG and NYJ both added multiple first rounders in the draft. I can't understand anyone having ATL or HOU ranked above us. We should at least be 30th.

With quality QB play. Is this roster ready to go?

We will inexplicably beat AZ. Weird things happen when we play them. Sea, NYG, and Pitt are all up in the air but none of those QBs scare you. All those teams are mentally counting our game as a W. I don't think six wins will be enough to save Rhule's job. -
I can't imagine think they will put that much stock into Sam looking good in shorts with no pass rush?

"Best bets" article puts Panthers under 5.5 wins

The line is perfect, but if we don't bring in a Jimmy G/Baker (which, to be clear, I don't want them to do), then I'd have to take the under. -
We already gave up our 2023 3rd round pick to get Corral. Let's not trade away are all draft picks again. Jimmy G/Baker might get you 7 to 9 wins. Then you have to decide if you want to sign them to an expensive long term extension, or let them walk for nothing, all without getting a good look at your rookie with game speed reps. The better course of action would be to get Corral on the field by Week 8, and see what the rook can do.

Matt Corral is Obi-Wan...

“We want to have a really strong quarterback room,” Rhule told reporters on Friday during rookie minicamp, “so I don’t think we would say no to a veteran at this point.” “We’re happy with the group we have,” Fitterer said. “I never put an absolute on anything. [But] we came into this weekend with the intention of getting a quarterback, and that’s what we did. And we’re going to go with this group.” Taken from this blog: https://heavy.com/sports/cleveland-browns/panthers-baker-mayfield-trade-matt-corral/

That about double the amount of wins that the sports books have us at right now.

Ron also had Cam and Luke. Foxy had some great players, but I'm not sure he had ones like Cam and Luke. Rivera should have been able to do more, but didn't.

I like this kid.

They have Houston and Atlanta as the top two for Young/Stroud, but we are in range. All the more reason to get a long look at Matt Corral this season. -
