I heard Rapport on FS1 this morning. Fields is doing well just to get the play calls out. Dalton gets them out and then tells everyone in the huddle what there job is. It took Mahomes almost a full season behind Alex Smith to get acclimated to that offense. I wouldn't draw any huge conclusions on Fields, Jones, Lawrence, Lance, or Wilson based upon this season, let alone before they even take their first preseason snap (though Jones has taken snaps now). Even a seemingly successful rookie campaign would need to be backed up by an equally strong sophomore year. When it comes to evaluations, you're gonna get some right, and get some wrong. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

I don't think the flop rate of first round CBs is much better than QBs. Both seem like risky positions.

Shaq already in mid-season form, I see. Why are we paying him, again?

Winning or losing Week 1 isn't a great barometer for the season. One year we beat Minnesota Week 1 with Chris Weinke as our QB and didn't win another game all year.

Tepper would be even more inclined to start stepping in if his draft crush -- who Rhule and Fitterer wanted no part of -- flourishes...

I saw in the Camp Confidential thing that Christensen is a new dad. That's a rough transition in and of itself. Then you put going from BYU to the NFL on top of that and I'm sure the guy's head is in a fog.

The first trade down we made in the draft allowed the Bears to grab OT Teven Jenkins. He has yet to practice for them.

If Wilson's troubles translate into the season and beyond, it'll give me concerns about their evaluation process. Of course, it could simply Jets doing Jets things.

Some of those names aren't super legible in the clip, but it's abundantly clear they valued Horn over any other player on the board when we picked.

Mostly what I saw was complaining about the media's coverage and making judgements before Wilson even takes a preseason snap. I don't think you'll see 'we shoulda kept Sam' until he starts balling out for us. I did see this. It's from a Giants beat reporter, but it sounds like he was at Jets camp as well. I don't remember hearing anything about the Jets wanting Lance or Fields. It's was Wilson the whole time.

It'll be interesting to revisit this thread next offseason.

The dream would be Agent 89 and Mills both going in. But he's up against Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, and Reggie Wayne. Holt and Wayne didn't make it in their first year eligible. Also eligible are Devin Hester, Tony Boselli, Richard Seymour, Demarcus Ware, Leroy Butler and Zach Thomas. I could see Agent89 making it to the final 15, but I'm not sure he'll make the cut this time around.
