  1. Lawyers are like the house in Vegas. No matter what happens, they win.
  2. It's going to depend on the chart. That's my issue with Tepper's "negative points" statement. Unless there is one universal chart everyone agrees to use (and there isn't), teams might come to you with a deal they think is positive or equal points (based on THEIR chart), but it calculates to negative points on YOUR chart. Don't just dismiss it out of hand, counter offer. That said, if you can't agree on the value of the assets (the chart), I guess its going to be hard to come to a deal both sides feel is equitable.
  3. Obligatory "he's better than PJ, but that's not a high bar to clear..."
  4. They did lose Armstead in Free Agency and it's said to be a strong Tackle class.
  5. Who is Joe Marino? Profile says he's a draft analysis for Draft Network. And has a Bills focused podcast. I wonder what he hard and he would have access to in order to gain his "insight".
  6. From everything Rhule has said about defense and a downhill running game, that's the strategy he's building. Run. Run. Pass. Punt.
  7. Panthers mailbag: On Malik Willis, Jimmy Garoppolo, Cam Newton and … German beer https://theathletic.com/3222516/2022/04/01/panthers-mailbag-on-malik-willis-jimmy-garoppolo-cam-newton-and-german-beer/
  8. My main concern is that we come of the draft still in possession of our 2023 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks.
  9. Have you ever read "Blood, Sweat, and Chalk" by Tim Layden? It's an origin story of the modern game's formation and play designs. "This is one of the most important sports books of our generation-and a lot of fun too. The formations and philosophies that win Super Bowls and national titles are made crystal clear. If you live for fall weekends, this is your book." - Peter King
  10. There it is. They wanted to use Cam as PR move to offset the backlash if they got Watson. Ugh. I'm so over Rhule and Tepper at this point.
  11. Sorry, Rhule doesn't have the track record for me to buy stuff like "I think he’s an amazing leader". This is the same guy who said "I'm unbelievably excited to get to work with Cam" not long after he was was hired. I just don't buy it.
  12. Certainly seems to be the most polarizing, at least on this board.
  13. With no offseason, and coming in cold off his couch? Do you know the last time Cam was fully healthy and had a full offseason program? 2015. Now I'm not saying we'd get 2015 Cam, we won't. But I'd love to see what he looks like with a full offseason and as healthy as he's been in a while.
  14. Those definitions look solid and are needed to have any kind of productive discussion on this issue. I would take the position that it's far too earlier to put Willis into one of those boxes, but I would agree hi is unlikely to be a "Pocket Passer" (by your definition) until much, much later in his career.
  15. Fitzgerald-Spielberger NFL Draft Trade Value Chart (caveat: not every team uses the same chart. Example for illustrations purposes only with a publicly available chart) #6 = 2092, #5 = 2184, # 7= 2014 Difference is 2,106 which is between the #5 and #6. Future picks are valued by each team a little differently. I've read where some teams give half point value at the middle of the first round. Yeah, it's going to take ALOT more than #6 (edit: and next year's 1st rounder) to get #5 and #7.
  16. The Raiders' moves this offseason certainly look like a team going all-in to compete in a brutal AFC West. Those don't seem like the moves of team looking to trade Carr.
  17. I'm quite leery of trading future 1st round picks. We have a brutal schedule and a bunch of new coaches and players trying to gel into a team. A top 10 pick in the 2023 draft is well within the range of outcomes for the Panthers with prospects like CJ Stroud for Bryce Young who are considered superior to this year's class by many of the reports I've read.
