  1. He didn't have much choice. Either come here and show what he can do for the entire league to get a starter level contract next year, or sit at home.
  2. Projected 2022 NFL Starters who played more than 10 games in their rookie season: Trevor, Mac Jones, Murray, Dak, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, Winston, Tannehill, Wentz, Herbert, Z. Wilson, Russ, Mariota, Daniel Jones, Trubisky, Allen, Burrow, Stafford, Fields, Mayfield (or Darnold -- both started more than 10 their rookie year, only counting one of them). 20 of 32 starting QBSs in the NFL started more than 10 games their rookie season.
  3. I understand this. From a long term perspective though, it wasn't the best move to make. You're going to lack key data to make some really important decisions next offseason.
  4. It's like people forgot 3rd round rookie Davis Mills existed last year. Was he great? No. But he showed enough for the Texans to know how to approach this offseason at the QB position.
  5. There's only so much you can do with "mental reps." You need full speed, game speed reps against a team that spent all week preparing for you.
  6. That may be true, but I can only go on what is being reported not what I might want or hope for.
  7. That's short term thinking. So after this year, you either have to extend Baker for starting QB money, or you have to go into 2023 with Corral as essentially a rookie after getting very few reps in 2022.
  8. NFLN reporting a QB competition so that isn't happening. PJ probably gone after camp, though.
  9. NFLN reporting a QB competition, so this isn't happening. If Darnold was going to the Browns, he would have been part of the trade. With both Darnold and Baker in camp, there will be very few reps for Matt to develop.
  10. Which means very few reps avaialble for Corral to develop. oof indeed.
  11. The market has changed pretty drastically since he signed that deal.
  12. Which is why the Exempt List is the best option. It's open ended and completely under the Commissioner's conrol.
  13. I didn't see this posted. Please delete if a duplicate. It seems like every talented beat reporter we get in Charlotte moves on in short order. Jourdan was the first to come to mind, but I feel like there were a couple other really good ones who moved on as well.
  14. Let them keep Jimmy G. He needs a team to elevate him. He doesn't elevate a team. Sam for a few games, then see what the rookie's got. Throw in a game or two for Never Lost Walker. These are the QBs hand picked by Rhule. Let him ride or die with them.
  15. This is why the Exempt List makes the most since. It's both indefinite and the entire process in under the Commissioner's control. A suspension would have to go to the new collectively bargained Personal Conduct Policy.
  16. I was thinking about going up to see camp this year. I wonder when the full schedule of days and times will be out?
  17. Especially considering he'll probably have to take a pay cut when he gets his rookie deal. That NIL money is going to be ridiculous for him.
  18. The upstate is still really conservative. I'd be surprised if SC approved it before NC.
  19. I think Cleveland should give us a 5th rounder for taking that contract and a messy situation off their hands.
  20. Colin Cowherd has lost his mind. Sure, we've got the easier division and expectations couldn't be lower, but better coach? better owner? That's a hard sell for me.
  21. Congress always has the "big stick" of messing with the NFL's anti-trust exemption. That can put incredible pressure on the league to do whatever Congress wants them to do.
