As Panthers fans, we've seen first hand how hard it is to replace a franchise QB. They didn't want to go through that.

It depends on if you mean had a winning record at the time of the game or finished the season with a winning record. Of Matt Rhule's 10 wins in 2020 and 2021, only 2 have come against teams that finished the year with a winning record: 2021 Week 10 over Arizona (w/o Kyler Murray), finished 11-6. 2021 Week 2 over New Orleans (displaced by hurricane), finished 9-8.

On a positive note at least we’re not the worst
trueblade replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel bad for Fields. Nagy his first year, and then they hire a defensive head coach and working under a first-time OC. They did nothing at WR this offseason. Trevor looked pretty bad this rookie year, too. But JAX went out and got a offensive minded head coach and a Christian Kirk. Jacksonville also has a first-time OC but at least he can lean on Pederson's experience. Trevor looks worlds better now. -
60.8% of our passing yards came on one play... 60%!!

Just a friendly reminder about today's victory...

A record of 2-5 after that stretch seems like a reasonable expectation. -
Easy fix here, draft Bryce Young and hire Ken Dorsey

First step is to start acquiring as much draft capital as we can. Here's a start: -
We only get 17 of these a year so I try to watch as many as I can. Hope for the best, prepared for the worst.

Will this franchise ever have an "offense minded" head coach
trueblade replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's one thing I like about Mike Lafluer. He's putting up yards and points with Joe Flacco (beat Cleveland in week 2) and had UDFA Mike White throwing for 400 yards last season. -

Mike Lefluer might be a name to watch as the season rolls on. -

Is this something you're seeing @TheCasillas? If we're THIS predictable. Oh wee mayne. -
Your daily Laughing coaching staff press conference (9/22)

He's probably using a third party Twitter manager app that either has a bug or is misconfigured. -
The other thing the Dolphins did well was the rebuild. Could this be a blueprint for us going forward? Miami, 2019 Traded Ryan Tannehill and 2019 6th round pick to Titans for 2019 7th round pick and 2020 4th round pick Traded Robert Quinn to Cowboys for 2020 6th round pick Traded Laremy Tunsil, Kenny Stills, 2020 4th round pick, 2021 6th round pick to Texans for Johnson Bademosi, Julie'n Davenport, 2020 1st round pick, 2021 1st round pick Traded Minkah Fitzpatrick, 2020 4th round pick and 2021 7th round pick to Steelers for 2020 1st round pick, 2020 5th round pick and 2021 6th round pick Traded Kenyan Drake to Cardinals for 2020 5th round pick

Sean Payton to coach in 2023 for the right team
trueblade replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
Their OC (Lombardi) came from NO, worked with Payton, and runs his system. The players wouldn't even have to learn a new offense. -

Are we at the lowest point in panthers history?
trueblade replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
That was such a fun ride, right until we had to go to GB. And even year one wasn't horrible. 7-9 was better than any expansion team before us. -
When we traded for Baker, I said that we were going to scuttle Corral's development because there just wouldn't be enough reps in training camp. I was assured that there would be plenty of reps and the "qb competition" talk was just that, talk. Well, my friends, it wasn't. The QB competition happened. The one day I was at training camp, PJ, Sam and Baker were working with the receivers, and Corral was on the far field, practicing handoffs from under center. I was also told that we needed to trade for Baker (and scuttle Corral's development) because people wanted "watchable football" this fall. How "watchable" have the first two weeks been? Now, no question about it, Corral looked lost in the preseason. Would he have looked as lost if getting him ready to back up Darnold had been the priority of the offseason. We'll never know. Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't. But I would have liked to have seen it.

I keep coming back to the 2019 Dolphins. They traded a bunch of good players. I don't know that any of them were CMC good (I mean very few people in the NFL are CMC good), but that seems like the path forward for Carolina to emulate.

I keep hoping they will make a special HOF edition Mills jersey. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I was right there with you on Fields. I really hope the kid turns it around. I wonder if Fields struggles will impact Stroud's draft.

I think they were trying to replicate the success Matt Stafford had moving from the Lions to the Rams, but Matt Ryan isn't Matt Stafford.
