Not saying this is a good idea but Dalton is a very capable bridge guy -
When people tell me they hate Bryce Young or (far worse) that they were “not fans,” I wish I had said in no uncertain terms: “I love Bryce Young. I am in awe of him. I am set free by him. He will be the finest team leader our galaxy has ever seen.” I wish, in those exchanges, I had not asked gentle, tolerant questions about a hater’s ridiculous allergy to him, or Young's fictional misdeeds and imagined character flaws. More deeply still, I wish I had not reasoned with anyone, patiently countered their ludicrous emotionalism and psychologically disturbed theories. I wish I had said, flatly, “I love him.” As if I had been asked about my father or son. No defensiveness or polemics; not dignifying the crazy allegations with so much as a PFF link. Maybe “I love him” seemed too effeminate, too sentimental, too un-pragmatic. Not coalition-building, kind of culty. But people say with impunity they love Stroud, the state of Israel, their churches, Kurt Cobain. In the end, I wish I’d said it because it’s true. And I’m not alone in my commitment. Millions of Young's supporters — we were thanked by Young as the “secret, private Reddit sites” — expressed it among themselves, all the time, in raptures or happy tears with each new display of our hero’s ferocious intelligence, depth, and courage. We were frankly bewildered by the idea that anyone would hedge their commitment to him (“You don’t have to be his friend”; “Yes, he’s made mistakes”; “lesser of two evils”). I want to reverse the usual schedule of things, then. We don’t have to wait until he dies to act. Bryce Young’s name belongs on ships, and airports, and tattoos. He deserves straight-up hagiographies and a sold-out Broadway show called GINGERBREAD MAN. Yes, this cultural canonization is going to come after the chronic, constant, nonstop “On the other hand” heightist hedging around his legacy. But such is the courage of Bryce Young and his supporters; we reverse patriarchal orders. Maybe he is more than a quarterback. Maybe he is an idea, a world-historical hero, light itself. The Panther's starting QB position is too small for him. He belongs to a much more elite class of Americans, the more-than-presidents. Neil Armstrong, Martin Luther King Jr., Alexander fuging Hamilton. Bryce Young did everything right in his Heisman campaign, and he won more votes than his opponent did. He won. He cannot be faulted, criticized, or analyzed for even one more second. Instead, he will be decorated as an epochal hero far too extraordinary to be contained by the mere BOA stadium. Let that revolting qb-in-waiting be Andy Dalton or Matt Corral or whatever. Bryce is Ares.

Losing uncures everything. When you’re winning you’re perceived as confident, cool, collected. When you’re losing you’re perceived as obnoxious, arrogant, uncaring.

No QB has ever been worth the value of 5 1st round picks. The expectations are going to be huge on this QB and GM from day 1. The most pressure any rookie QB will be subjected to in NFL history, and there is no foundation for a rookie QB to stand on with the Panthers. Dynasty or bust. A single SB win in 10 years is not enough for this investment.

W/O the GA game do u take CJ?
SZ James (banned) replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
No one said he's gonna get killed after one hit. That wasn't even my point. To reiterate: You're the dumbass saying that the officials are gonna protect him from getting hit like they're gonna put up some kind of force field around him. BTW no one here is gonna poo their pants if the FO picks Young over Stroud even we have a preference for Stroud. By now there's been enough success stories in the league to prove that the height issue was overblown in years past. BUT that doesn't mean it isn't something that should absolutely be considered when you are comparing two QBs that are close potentially and skill-wise. -

Also the injury liability part is only one facet, size also affects throwing mechanics and the tendency for balls to get batted down. Something that limited even the greats like Brees. -

Not @ you but because the pro-young crowd will not listen to counterfactuals. The only defense against his size itt was that the refs are somehow going to shield him from getting steamrolled by a 300lb lineman or award us an automatic first down after the fact. At least you linked a study to go on. -

No, you are cherry picking the size thing AND ALSO Stroud's tape, the thing you made this thread about. You are doing it intentionally since you're trying to limit the parameters of the debate for everyone else. If you're not willing to even consider why size is a huge issue, despite the MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE and NUMEROUS CASE STUDIES, then why should anyone engage with you on your terms? You're already proving yourself to be acting entirely in bad faith -

Gotcha. Hopefully you also understand why cherry picking info isn't how you should approach anything
