If top tier qb had the physical talent and confidence...yes they can get the ball there before the FS does.
-
I'm trying to understand what was everybody's expectations of plummer the first 2 games??
-
I mean....a top tier qb could make that throw. So if you think bryce can't then he may not be one. Which obviously is the concern.
-
In other words, other franchise qbs would make that throw and set themselves apart from the mediocre Qbs. Thats one of the expectations for bryce this year is to make throws that will set himself apart from the average. lm not gonna argue he won't be more productive because it will be hard to be worse than last year. It's more about within that production is he taking chances and trusting the deep ball like you said.
-
I thought he had more than enough time in the pocket and still held the ball too long at certain times. Definitely more than plummer had all pre season but of course nobody wants to talk about that.
-
Because i dont care about a specific number. That will come down to what will be required far as the team is instructed. For example, he could very well not have a substantial increase in yards and TDs because the run game is working so well but still play well despite his low number. It happens.
-
More tds, less interceptions and obviously more yards with more of those comimg from big plays. He only had 2800 yds passing while playing in 16 games. Is it to much to ask too improve on that to you??
-
Damn...I didnt even notice that lol. I did notice that his throws still look weak to me and just don't come off his hands strong. When the coverage tightens up that's gonna be a good indicator of progress.

It sounds like when we drafted Ickey and it was more polished tackles in that group. On another note I think XL will be fine it's just possible the opportunities will be far and between this year. It's just gonna come down to staff finding ways to get him involved and bryce being able to establish a connection with him.
-
I have already said I don't expect bryce to be worse than last year mainly because it would be really hard to be worse than what he was just looking as his numbers alone. HOW MUCH better he will be this year is the real question and what I'm paying attention too. If it's minimal improvement than is just as bad as none at all for him. This is still a number one overall pick and I'm gonna continue to treat him as such unlike other fans.

Not getting excited over torching guys that will probably be cut Monday. I thought a TD on that drive was the minimal expectation honestly after the way the pre season as gone. Anything less was a failure to me. I mean they had to go for it on 4th down to sustain the drive. But it was a better showing then last year pre season game. I still think there was emphasis on keeping the first string off the field until the staff was really confident in them. But there is no more hiding after today. Lets hope it continues.

Its almost like he is a rookie who was always learning the pro game. Crazy how your draft status gives you all kinds of excuses. Lol

Jack Plummer!!

Marshall the new slant boy!!
-
Well it doesn't make any since smitty because Reich probably never wanted bryce for his offense. Just putting that out there.
-
That is true. Hopefully he get the jitters out sooner than chase did.

Come on leggette

And this is the contrast to practice and pre season games. You start seeing the holes in your starting group when they play in real game action. You can't just go off joint practices.
-
Yes, but he is still holding the ball too long. That was the concern last year besides everybody just blindly blaming on the o line. He has to speed up the decision making even with an improved o line. He won't have all day.
-
That was a 4th down conversion away from being disastrous, I thought from the start there is no way you cant walk away with a TD there and they did that.
-
I was bout to say please don't settle for a field goal.

Jaycee Horn’s future with the Panthers
CPF4LIFE replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean this is not surprising. Dude is a top 5 player when he on the field and also shows it in practice. -
Only ever coached by his Dad who just so happens to be arguably the greatest defensive play in the history of the league. So that also means he has had a nfl pedigree ever since he was a kid and already has the perfect guiding system in place and someone to tell him what it takes to be NFL player. I dont see that as a negative. Padding stats thing comes across more as a forced critique then a legitimate criticism. How many times have we ever discussed a qb padding their stats? Qbs have to make plays at every opportunity, its not like Colorado was a ultra talented team plus that defense was trash against good teams so a qb in a position of playing from behind is gonna feel forced to do more giving the opportunity. We know that very well from the early days with Cam when he would lead the team in TDs, passing yards, and rushing yards. NOBODY here ever accused him of padding his stats in losing because we understood the team wasnt good yet so Cam had to do more. Ever since Deion got to Colorado that team has gotten unnecessary hate by the public and other teams because of the attention given to them by the media regardless of if Deion or shaedur has done anything. Im not worried about the drama as much as other people because thats more of a colorado thing only, and wont be coming to an NFL team when he gets drafted.
