Right. In that scenario we’d have a high draft pick to get one. This year spending picks and capital on Oline and skill positions is too important. It’ll give Bryce his best chance to succeed and if not the QB we take high in 2025 will benefit from those same things. If Bryce isn’t the guy he’ll be our Clausen 2.0 and walk us into a high pick

We need a clean sweep. No more of this mix match bs. New coach and gym hired same year

Petition to move Icky to guard and Moton to LT
poorboysrev replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I don’t get why it’s so hard to move a TE or RB or both over there and help him -
Right…the picks are already sunk cost. Best scenario by far is we unlock his potential. Scariest part to me is though Frank is undoubtedly a nice guy and all that he seems like a terrible fit to do that. Hopefully Bryce is resilient enough not to get David Carr’d. I’ve been wanting someone from the Shanahan tree forever…that offense just seems to work everywhere it goes. They need to just turn the kid loose and let him find his rhythm. He’s looked best in no huddle and hurry up offense and our running game isn’t good enough for ball control/defensive football…fug it go run n shoot at this point and just get him reps.

Man should’ve taken the cheap flier on Ridley

Yeah I really thought we were going to play the Pats. Wanted the rematch. In the SB in wonder what would’ve happened if we’d just went power run from heavy formations to wear out their smaller Dline instead of playing right into their strength which was their pass rush and secondary vs our “all world” tackles and WR’s. Probably the worst game plan I’ve ever seen on that stage. They had me calling for Fox ball ha

This is a good one…way to show the fan base and team that you’re not even trying to get back to the Super Bowl…letting Ted Ginn walk over a couple million dollars after the SB season was a huge mistake IMO. Him and Cam together was a big play waiting to happen. Why is our team so against fast WRs ha

I didn’t have to search for anything man I’ve watched football a long time and have a memory ha. Seen sure things flame out and guys people doubt succeed. The draft’s a crapshoot. Drew Brees was like what an inch taller if?? I’m not saying he’s going to be as good as any of those guys, just that it’s a bit ridiculous to act like we know 2 games in. He DID hang with both teams. They were close games. Obviously gotta get much much better. We’ll see if he/they can

How is bringing up other QBs that didn’t light it up right out of the gate but looked pretty damn good after a couple seasons of learning and adding weapons around them aimlessly throwing out names? They were in similar situations. Using the criteria you’re using not one of those QBs would have gotten time to develop. You’re saying a player in their first 2 starts is going to show you exactly what they can and can’t be. And somehow that’s a more reasonable take then how about we give him at least a season before the tar and feathers brigade gets the pitchforks out ha. Come on dude
-
Right on. Plus they’re ignoring the fact that it took until his 3rd year as a starter for Drew Brees to start looking like the Drew Brees in New Orleans. And that’s with the offensive talent difference he had in San Diego at the time which is nowhere near close. Killing the kid after 2 games in the nfl with some of the worst weapons in the nfl = crazy expectations or you just have your draft day axe to grind. They’d have ran Peyton, Drew, Lawrence, Tua, Allen and a plethora of others out of town 6 games into their first season for not looking like Mahomes day 1.

Official Panthers at Falcons GameDay Thread!

Bryce and Burns polishing up to bounce em off the falcons’ foreheads…it’s the Falcons not the Eagles. F em up! -
F it… trade for Diggs hahaha
-
I mean…how does anyone see this as a negative. Means we’re serious about a division title We need more than 2 pass rushers ha. All our others besides Burns are young unproven guys. Houston could very easily be a 3rd down pass rush specialist ala Trace Armstrong. Great pedigree and vet for the young guys to learn from. I like that they didn’t sit on their hands about the biggest question mark we had. Let the young guys duke it out, no one’s given squat. More pass rush the better. Get em Fitty

They’ll put Dalton in for the 4th Quarter when we’re up by 30
-
No chance in hell they yank him. He should start. Cam started week 1. So did Peyton Manning and most other number 1’pick QBs. Knowing the offense and playbook obviously won’t be a problem

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?
poorboysrev replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d say compared to what the Niners gave the Phins to move up to 3 for Lance and other similar deals it was a great trade for us. We gave up a 1, two 2’s, and a borderline number 1 WR that yes has potential to be better with better QB play than he got here but let’s not act like we gave up Davante Adams or Tyreek Hill. The number 9 pick was a swap for the number 1 so I don’t consider that giving them an extra 1st rder, semantics but annoys the piss out of me when the nfl “analysts” don’t make that distinction. Any high pick QB in the draft or big money free agent QB( ie Russel Wilson) comes with risk. Aaron Rodgers to the Jets has a BIG chance of getting that whole front office and staff fired with one injury. Any QB taken in the top ten generally gets 3 years minimum to pan out. Im not a college football fan but everything I’m seeing from Bryce looks like he’s special. IF it doesn’t pan out we’re back to our full complement of picks by the time that 3 years is up and I like that they staggered the picks so it’s not like we don’t have ammunition to add WR’s for him. I personally think between TMJ, Mingo, and even Chark( some freak injury stuff but he’s shown elite ability with lesser tier QBs) someone is going to breakout. It helps that we seem to have staff that will actually scheme our weapons open…I know something Carolina fans aren’t used to seeing but seems to work great for the Andy Reid’s, Sean Payton’s and Mcveigh’s of the league. Time will tell but I’m jacked that we swung for the fences here…I think we’re taking the division this year. I’m not afraid of any Bowles or Dennis Allen led team. I think Atlanta will be biggest competition but will run into the same problem we did trying to go with big, slow wrs except they’ve got Ridder instead of Cam. I get you’re just making conversation so no worries there man. The folks acting like we got fleeced like Ditka for Ricky Williams need to stop snorting lines with their espresso ha -
Right, can’t play scared. Draft the guy you feel best about, support him with personnel, scheme, and coaching and let’s see if he’s got that. I do feel like this staff seems more capable of that than the last time we had the number 1 pick but they still gotta land the right guy..point blank it’s just hard to to know who that guy is otherwise the mahomes’, Allen’s, Brady’s would’ve been drafted number 1
-
Barry was healthy when he retired. He retired because he was tired of playing for the Lions and they refused to trade him. #facts ha
-
Boyyyyyy!!!!
-
I’d prefer someone that can take the top off the defense to open up everything else
-
Yeah I don’t get the problem if you trade a pick for a good player..when what you’re trying to do in the draft is use the pick to draft a good player. Were people pissed when we traded the 3rd rder for Olsen?
