I agree he should have hit that hole, but those LBs were sitting on the play waiting to see which way he went. There were two that shifted to the outside when Miles committed and easily would have filled the hole if he went inside.

Wait isn’t getting to the second level untouched the holy grail of blocking?  Those backers are setup perfect a cutback.

A NFL back hits that hole full steam and breaks an ankle with the cutback or just straight trucks the flat footed backer.  There’s no doubt running up the back of the blockers on the right was the best way to get the least from this play.

Backers sit on every play ever ran, doesn’t mean they always make the play.

How do you not see that hole? He ran right into the pile.

My personal favorite aspect of this clip is the stutter step.  It’s high quality fail until you notice that and then it just steps the clip up to 10/10.  I consider this to be in the EPIC tier of fail gifs because of that stutter step.  If all Miles ever gives us is this extraordinary gif to post when failing is on topic then I salute him and the trade might have just been worth it!

  3. I'm honestly wondering if it's just more of the personnel management issues that have already been admitted regarding Thielen and TMJ.  The thought is almost preposterous until you consider that we called a play designed for a single player, that wasn't on the field and then called a timeout.

I hope Tepper has enough patience to stick with Reich and Fitterer through the season. Firing one or both will just set the franchise back even further.

We are a winless embarrassment.  I don't see how we can be set back further at this point.

However, the current situation should be given the remainder of the season, longer pending results.  There's no point in trying to salvage anything right now.   IMO everyone is playing or coaching for a job right now.

To be honest, I'm not worried about Bryce yet. He's a rookie and there are going to be growing pains. I just keep reminding myself that Peyton Manning had a pretty bad rookie year as well.

    This is so tiring.

Jimmy Clausen was terrible his rookie year and stayed terrible.  Does that have anything to do with Bryce?  NO and neither does Peyton Manning or anyone else.

Also, for the record (or records) Peyton Manning set rookie records for completions, yards, touchdowns and yes interceptions.  I don't think anyone with the full picture would say setting every significant rookie record ever was a pretty bad year.

Why on earth should they do that? The season is a write-off. We need to use the remaining games to give Young as many reps as possible. The whole sitting him to shadow a vet ship sailed long ago.

Because the locker room is losing faith.  Brian Burns offering zero encouragement publicly is the point being made here.  You're not going to find the patience you're preaching we need when players career paths and earning potential are affected by ineffective QB play.

Purdy would look terrible on this team

Who else would look bad?  Mahommes?  Allen?  Hurts?

Do you just categorically think anyone except Dalton vs Seattle would look bad?

Just curious why you decided to state Purdy specifically would look bad.
