  1. I don’t consider my reaction emotional. BY arm looks suspect. His “processing” is way behind what we were sold. In no way has he looked the part of a difference maker. The standard to compete is Pat Mahommes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen, Dak, Tua…. All I want to see is either the physical tools OR the mental tools to overcome the lack of physical tools. Haven’t seen anything resembling either through two games at literally a third worst in HISTORY comically bad result, and that’s with the garbage time yardage.
  2. Sir, I salute you. I remain hopeful you are correct in your assessment. I sincerely wish you the best with fam tomorrow.
  3. The absolute measuring stick until the S3 has all the bugs worked out.
  4. That’s a red herring. We didn’t score “meaningful” points and you know it. Also, BY threw at least two that should have been picked.
  5. I agree with too soon to know. 2023 and 2024 are burnt no matter how you slice it, so we’ll definitely find out. I just haven’t seen anything promising, nothing….subject to change. Also, leading a TD against a Saints defense playing chess while you play checkers isn’t the kind of progress I want to see from #1 overall.
  6. But BY isn’t Peyton Manning or Drew Brees any more than he’s Jamarcus Russell, Jimmy Clausen or Ryan Leaf. It takes time to recognize a bust in the same way it takes time to recognize a great. What I’m talking about is the now, and it’s not good….at all.
  7. Ok so I think my point has merit then. Lining up under your RG in the N.F.L is a J.O.K.E. Especially if your #1 trait is supposed to be football IQ. TBH, I appreciate your optimism and content Scot, I really do. I’ll happily be wrong and happily eat my humble pie when BY puts it together. This has been two HISTORICALLY bad starts from the rook though and worse than that it actually looks awful, it’s doesn’t just feel awful.
  8. A balanced and nuanced breakdown of another Panther loss. This is the way. I hope everything is ok with your wife.
  9. I want you to be right, I really do. Bryce just looks like complete dog poo though, completely lost and inadequate would be my description. He has the 3rd lowest yards per completion of any QB in history with at least 50 attempts through 2 games. He lined up under his RG and had to be pushed over by the RB every BY nut hugger is hating on. It’s not good. I want it to be good, but it’s not good.
  10. I haven’t charted the play by play. The eye test is alarming though. Bryce has objectively and historically been awful through his first two starts. Anyone calling it anything different has blinders on. Maybe there’s something there we haven’t seen yet but if there isn’t this is a ridiculous and comical whiff by what is already a laughing stock of a franchise.
  11. There were three receivers nfl open for the 1st there. This is awful.
  12. What if someone told you Rhule wasn’t rock bottom.
  13. If this were a real super computer I wouldn’t want it doing my taxes. That was an awful decision and a weak throw.
  14. Dafuq is this challenge? Does it even matter if we’re right? Isn’t the challenge worth more than 9 yards in first down?
  15. Well we experienced a very small nugget of success during the second half of 2022 and felt a hint of optimism for the first time in five years, then promptly showed most everyone who had anything to do with it the door in favor of an "all-star" staff that was composed entirely of people looking for jobs. Week 1 2023 we lose by two TD to a team that couldn't pass for 100 yards. So I wouldn't call my attitude "excited" at the moment. It's more like I feel neutered of hope or like a scorned optimist. Wilkes did make the games worth watching last year so excitement can definitely scale with success. Will patiently wait for the reward that feels so far away atm.
  16. To be clear, I'm not bashing Bryce. I'm squarely in the wait and see crowd, just want to see him improve week over week. However, these comparisons to Manning, Burrow and other accomplished qbs that struggled are just ridiculous. You could much more easily build a list of QBs that ended up being terrible with comparable 1st game stats. Example: Jimmy Clausen 19/33 182y 1TD 1INT Now, I'm not saying he's Jimmy Clausen any more than his first game stats say he's Peyton Manning or Joe Burrow. I'm just saying these comparisons....at all...are a ridiculous way to support an argument. Let the rook cook, we'll all know in time.
  17. Said it before in another thread, worth repeating. My biggest concern is we looked best early and significantly worse as the game went on. All I really care about is seeing improvement game by game. Having some confirmation that the trajectory is positive. Panthers teams fading is nothing new to the fans even if the players and coaches are.
  18. IMO offsetting penalties should be overhauled. First, they should only offset if the yardage penalty is the same. A 15 yarder vs a 5 yarder should be a net penalty application. Second, personal fouls should always take precedence over any other foul and only be offsetting if both teams are flagged. Matters of player safety should always be penalized!
  19. That's not what he said. He said "hopefully" we get Jaycee back quickly.
  20. The thing I found most concerning today was that we got worse as the game went on.
  21. Let him walk for his own sake. The only way he’ll have a good 5 year injury free run is with another team. Black cats are curses.
  22. This is his second injury just running.
