  1. Yep, saw that as I went on down. 8 pages before I saw the thread, o well
  2. Sounds like the profile of the average Huddler
  3. Perriman might go to oakland at 4, oh wait, Al not around anymore. But in the least, he might push Strong down to us.
  4. Delhomme was a firey leader, but by no means was he elite. He would fall and fumble just from the wind of a passing DE nice guy, great team leader, but never threatened elite status and i was furious with he got that last contract.

  6. There are so many things at play here, just jumping on one side or the other and grabbing it by the throat and defending it to the death are laughable. To quote a great philosopher, "it is what it is" Cam Newton won the national championship with a running offense. Not his fault, he won games which was his goal and did it incredibly well. The offense he ran at Auburn gave him little opportunity to prepare for the next level however, which is a passing league. So, he comes to the NFL as a winner, but with question marks in his passing game. His first season was nothing short of a huge sigh of relief as he seemed to rack up the yards. However, the league, as it always does, takes away what worked for you one season and makes you develop different ways to beat them the next. This is where Cam is at this point. I want Oline and Dline to be the pillars of our team, period. I have always been about the trench guys, so I constantly want to upgrade those positions. The lines make better RB's, QB's, WR's CB's and LB's. There is no doubt we need a better Oline. But at the same time, there is no doubt that Cam is a bit behind in his development. That can be natural when you have relied on your exceptional athleticism for most of your career to bail you out of tough situations. If you look at hits and sacks on the QB in 2014, we were about the same as the Pats, who won the Super Bowl. If I am Gman, I look at it from the perspective that I have the biggest, most athletic QB's in the game and IF I can get his mechanics and pocket passing to be more consistent, then I am golden. But I cannot sign him to the mega deal unless he is improving at a good pace which makes me sure he will be a top 5 guy. If not, then I will make a move in the next season or two without ever having signed him to a long term deal.
  7. I made this statement several months back, but why would a GM and a head coach, on the eve of trying to sign their franchise QB, go out over and over and praise the QB to the press?
  8. You can bet we take a DT in this draft. He will probably be the 3rd or 4th round pick as we will be grooming him to take Cole or Edwards place as a backup
  9. Team has leverage at this point. Cam, if he has a great season, will get the leverage back. 5 wins is not what the agent wants on his guys resume when he sits down to negotiate. You don't think Gman would point that out? You better know he would. Not in a bad way, but he would use it to try to keep the cap in good shape for sure
  10. probably means he has already worked out the deal for TD, just not announced it yet.
  11. Agreed, to the whole NFC, especially the NFCS, FEAR THE SHORTS!!
  12. http://www.nfl.com/DraftTown Okay, so who wants to go to Chitown?
  13. Well, at least we can now understand the mood swings
  14. Shula could be better in some situations but my goodness at the crap coming out of ya'lls mouth. "Cam missed a lot of passes" Shula's fault? "All Cams receivers drop passes continually" Shula's fault? "Our line can't open a hole to save its life" Shula's fault? "Our OT's are revolving doors" Shula's fault? Some of you GM's should recognize that our personnel on the filed left a lot to be desired as far as execution of ANY play. If you can't block, catch or throw, then it limits you as an OC as to your success. Again, yes, I agree that on paper he made some predictable calls, but I am not going to lump all our offensive woes on him.
  15. Most fans look at now, and I mean right now. GM's look at now, next year and the year after that. Who can contribute now? A RB and a WR Who needs a year to learn? Any OT in this draft that you are thinking can handle the left side, thus our stop gap with Oher Who might be in their last season here? Norman? Stewart? TD? My thoughts are something like 1st Strong or Gurley (Immediate contributors) 2nd Cedric (gonna be learning behind Oher and strengthening his knee) 3rd Speedy DB or Buck Allen if we take Strong in the first. 4th DT's OT's to line up behind starters. and so on
  16. SCP No matter home or away, he leaves his mark(s)
  17. My biggest question is about the offense where Jennings thrived. The WCO is basically one where you get the ball to an athlete as quickly as possible. Many times on short crossing routes where the receiver can do a lot with the ball after the catch, but, you need to hit them in stride. These are my questions about how we would use Jennings. I think as a person, teammate, community and family guy, he is exactly what we would be looking for. As a football player, I am just wondering how the Panthers would use him. Slot? Is he quick enough?
  18. Wonder what role Rivera has in mind for Jennings if he did sign here. Change in our offense, run the same one?
  19. You got my point about the numbers. I think Teddy has much better touch than Cam has displayed and his numbers as a rookie are mostly better than Cams this past season. Cam is by far the bigger dual threat, but for a WR on a crossing route, Teddy might be the better thrower.
