If 90% of Collins game is stopping the run, but 90% of what he will be asked to do at the next level is stopping the pass, then you have to resolve this issue. I don't see him as a center fielder at this point, but I will try to watch more vids

Okay, had time to think about it. I think Collins is not a 3 down Safety as his ball skills are terrible. Fisher is a good call but still think he goes by mid second, especially since the LT's, like QB's get overdrafted O Leary is a football player for sure but might be at his ceiling already. 1. Jaelen Strong WR 2. Cedric Ogbuehi OT 3. Preston Smith DE Would work better for me at this moment. But it is all gonna change with FA and Pro days

I have not set up yet for a mock, but at first glance, I am good with the second rounder although I think we might miss him by about 10 picks

Cam Newton should be paid more than Luck or Wilson
stirs replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe the guys in ATL feel their QB is better because he gets a lot of money. NE fans might laugh in their face http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/01/02/nfl-quarterback-salaries-2014-aaron-rodgers-jay-cutler-matt-schaub That was my point earlier, a lot of you guys want our QB to make mega bucks because.......- 181 replies

You can't go by me, heck I don't think Luck should make big bucks yet either. I just think there is too much gap between guys that make 20-25 million and contributors who are at $900,000 for instance. I have a hard time thinking they are worth 25-30 times more than their other teammates.- 181 replies

5-8-1 My thing was, a 5 win season gets you more money than anyone in the NFL? If Cams camp wants the huge payday, lets give it one more season and then decide.- 181 replies

The test for me, for fans is this: Would you be happy or pissed if Newton signed with the Panthers for $17 million per year? Most here would be ticked off and complain becuase they think he deserves more. Same for Keek coming up, some peoples fandom of players gets in the way of their "big picture" team view in my opinion. Go back just a few years to all the "Double Trouble ain't goin nowhere" discussions. How'd that work out for us?- 181 replies

Panthers were 2-0 with a second string QB fueled by conserveative play calls and strong defense. Doubt INDY could pull a greasy string out of a cats rear without Luck. Seattle would still compete based on their stellar D- 181 replies

Panthers and Cam Newton in contract talks
stirs replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
I want the team to do well and not overpay for one single player. This fan base, somehow, thinks their pecker gets bigger just because their favorite player makes more than other players. Then, the same apologists go back and opine about the lack of affordable talent around their favorite player. Vicious circle. I hope everyone DG signs is at a "deal" for the team. Period.- 218 replies

Is 'BPA, or be damned' a flaw with Gettleman's draft philosophy?
stirs replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too easy to say BPA It is actually BPA considering quite a few things. Was Benji the top guy on our board? Maybe, but Gman said that there was not an Olineman worth the pick. So based on those statements and our draft pick, we were looking for our two biggest needs. -
Does Carolina Pass up on Offensive Tackle at 25?
stirs replied to Bj-Monster23's topic in Carolina Panthers
Flowers did kick butt in the bench press, especially with his long arms 37 reps Collins, who was billed as being very strong got 21 -
not sure of the coaching, but the front office and talent level is certainly on an upswing

Does Carolina Pass up on Offensive Tackle at 25?
stirs replied to Bj-Monster23's topic in Carolina Panthers
Obviously, we know Gman was not the GM, but, he was intimately involved and chosen for us because of the philosophy the Giants had. This is interesting from 1998 -2012. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyg/draft.htm Lots of DB's, DE's, DT's and a few skill players on offense. Just sayin, don't be surprised at a defensive player or WR on draft day -

Lots of guys who have a T beside their name, but not one of them can start at LT in his first season.
