  1. Sweden is not a politically explosive as the US, so they can be more pragmatic in their approach. At least that is my thought Here, we do not prepare, overspend when it is going on and when over, and use political fear as our guidance.
  2. Supposedly, not the venue to make that argument, but whatever, I don't want to get banned again
  3. Did you read the article?
  4. Their model is close to what I was trying to discuss a couple weeks back. Basically, you quarantine the vulnerable, protect them, and the rest of society operates cautiously. Big paraphrase Long article, but worth the read
  5. The TB regulars now are going to enlighten this thread now. Guess I will go to work
  6. You are ax grinding again
  7. I have tried "discussion" on this thread before, to little success, but lets try again. I questioned our approach early on, so let's talk about this one. In the end, will the Sweden model, rather than the lockdown model be better suited for the US? https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/04/coronavirus-response-sweden-avoids-isolation-economic-ruin/
  8. Maybe he could sing a song at the beginning? I mean, dry is fine with me, just give me the facts
  9. No matter how many times I told you, you now find this news? The press and the people who follow them were spouting 1.7 million deaths and the end to society. Guess who gets to take credit now for it being 60k deaths. They made their beds.....
  10. The country at this point, would be better served if just Pence and the docs came out for 30 mins and gave updates. Then let the Romper Room ensue with Trump and the media. Nothing good comes out of their interactions anyway, just school kid silliness. Most Amercians would turn off the TV at that point
  11. The air borne part will reduce greatly, but the "touching" part probably will not
  12. It was not a statement, but a "what if" based on numbers and the fact that if the elderly population, (the ones dying primarily) had the convenience of a coronavirus vaccine, like they do the flu shot each year, would it have been the same? Not saying it was the flu, was not that simple
  13. As I said last week, the press conferences are so tiring and long, he should come out, say hello and it was a bad day, and give it over to the experts. Nobody needs to hear the words "very, very, tremendous" 92 times China and WHO do bear a lot of blame
  14. Please try to emphatically reread my post
  15. In the US, especially in an election year, nothing passes into the political realm, it is born into a political realm that already exists and dominates and manipulates every moment of society. Critical thinking is out the window, numbers are out the window. Driving emotions is key to getting people to vote. Fear is one of the biggest ones.
  16. As I have mentioned for quite sometime, as soon as they get the test out for antibodies, I think it will be a game changer. The ones being sold from China are junk, big surprise, and the US is ultra cautious and slow, but when it comes, it will take a lot of guesswork out of our society.
  17. Settle down guys I was sarcastic to one of the political guys the other day when he was name calling and told him to take it to the TB and guess who got banned? Just get back to virus talk
  18. Well, at least you are emphatic, otherwise I might dismiss this guarantee
  19. You seem to be invested in the Coronavirus destroying the earth. Could it be in the end, that it turns out to be "just another flu", but without the flu shots that protect the elderly that we are used to? Not saying that is the case, but if we lose 20-60k each year with seasonal flu, and we have shots for it, then who knows where this one will rank If you are making big money as you say, I would say you are pretty intelligent, what do the numbers tell you? Emotion seems to be speaking for you with every post. We know what you feel, now, what do you think?
  20. In mid-March, we were being told 1.7 million might die, now, we are being told 60k. Will our looking back help prevention of the disease and ones like it in the future? I certainly hope so. But, will it also give us pause about how headlines are made for clicks and what it does to a society filled not with knowledge, but fear? I certainly hope so. Most Americans can rest easy now that they have enough toilet paper to pass down to their grandkids when they pass away.
  21. Election year, post virus. This is all you will see from Dems and Pubs and those so manipulated as to believe either one of them.
  22. When do you think we will see baseball season start?
  23. Ya'll can use this if you'd like. "rightwing" tinderbox? Up is down, left is right, black is white and water is dry.
  24. Maybe the Japanese bowing will catch hold here in America, haha. I doubt it, we would be too cool for that. No hugging, no hand shaking. The elbow touching seems a bit stupid and wonky. Not sure what will replace it if it goes
