If we ever get the antibodies test, I would venture to guess that 30% will have been infected already

So, going back to my observation about the approach Sweden is taking and possibly developing herd immunity. Guess they will be ahead of the world after all?

After suspicion of China cheating on numbers, they suddenly find 1300 new deaths in one day.

Can't wait to go eat Mexican food again. You know, like all the other 20 yr olds, haha

Thought you guys were saying it would take 4 years?

Question about Sweden Will they have herd immunity after this? Might have some high numbers, but maybe it will pay off in the next couple of years? Thoughts? Insults?

Like I said, a pecker measuring contest

You think Trumps call to get back to work will hurt him? Not so sure. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/04/16/the-shutdown-backlash-is-coming-soonwith-a-vengeance-189809 As I said, its a fine line

https://www.france24.com/en/20200416-grave-concerns-about-covid-19-immunity-passports Question: How many of you, with the economy facing real issues, would rather contract the virus and get back to work? Would you take the chance?

Cannot wet your whistle, but certain "wets" are still good. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/who-pushes-back-on-calls-to-ban-wet-markets Maybe WHO will put out the best way to slaughter cats.......just so we know we are doing it correctly

Broadband capabilities will be the big push when this is over. Hate to own thousands of office buildings as they will probably go a bit south.

China will pay, Europe and US will see to it.

Yes, a banner year. https://www.cbo.gov/publication/24992 Not gonna help you grind your ax, you're on your own.

Ummm.....Most people understand that the House spends the money, thus the Gingrich comment. We seem to do better with Dem presidents when they have Pub controlled house and purse
-
Its a pecker measuring contest. The governors will do what is best for their states, period. None of them want anything but what is best for their state. If they shut their states down economically for too long, they are gone, if they open them up too early, they are gone. Trump does not want that responsibility. Easy for him to second guess them when it is over
-
Gingrich/Clinton was about the last time it came close. After that, it all became about vote buying, either through massive tax cuts that we could not afford without making cuts, or new giveaways that we could not afford without making cuts. So pols just say, "vote for me" and I will give you xyz. Pretty bold huh? Of course I thought the whole thing would crumble by now. My economics classes lied to me, did not think we could run 0% interest and 24 trillion in debt, but hey, maybe I should just get in line and hope they start giving away new pick up trucks. I know I could use one, and Michigan could use the work.....any pols out there? Its a win/win. What's another trillion among friends?
-
I gave up on the country when Pubs starting spending just as much or more than Dems. 24 trillion in the hole now. Past the point of no return. Vote buying is not my thing Was also not a fan of Mr Strategery

By staying on point, you mean ragging on Trump. Fine, have at it. I am just pointing out the fact that most can easily dismiss Trump, but won't even fathom how Biden would be at the mic. Fine, after November, you might get your chance to find out. The biggest point I was making is the fact that the WORLD is experiencing this. Not many countries have been spared. When Trump did find out and started limiting flights from countries, the loyal opposition did just that. So you are saying that they would have done better? Fine, grind your ax, I just don't think a Dem nor Pub could have seen this coming, no matter what all the political opinions say. Did not vote for Trump, nor Hillary. Had she been in office, we would have been hit just as hard. It's election year, so I get everyone wanting to get their side heard, I just don't agree.

I buy my Chloraquine at the Raceway, you?

Any mayor, governor, or president would be in unenviable shoes at the moment. You have to walk the line between making people take the virus seriously and not lose hope. Trump is not my guy, but then again, neither will Biden be my guy. Can you imagine the daily news conferences with him at the podium? I no longer care for the political bends to everything as I don't look at pols as my savior for everything in my life. What Trump "says" is infinitely worse than what he does. If he'd just come out, say thanks for being here, I give you the docs now for question and answer related to the virus. Then, he can say, now I want to introduce the economic panel for question and answer. That would be his best bet. For as little respect I have for any politician, I can't pin a pandemic on one. How they handle it can be debated, but there is a line of economy and health that has to be walked.

In case people have not noticed, it's election year. This means that everything will be headlines, everything will be politicized, and that is if we start back to work or we stay at home. All sides meet regularly to discuss public opinion. Fear of depression on one side, fear of certain death on the other side. Common sense, which is not to be used, is actually what is needed most. Science is even being politicized now with "models"
-
You hate to think selfishness plays a part sometimes in the perceived benevolent headlines for some companies. But I did hear a few are publicizing their PPE efforts mainly so they can stay open and continue running their regular line products. I actually know a couple of them.

You actually might be very close. What would the seasonal flu look like each year with "no flu shot"? Probably like the coronavirus. Seasonal flu takes 20-60k each year in the US, and that is with the flu shot.

Its almost like we should have been quarantining the folks most affected from the beginning and not treating the entire nation as if they were 80 yrs old with COPD. The middling approach did not protect the older ones.

Just pull out the giant Federal Government credit card. We use the plastic here better than anywhere on earth
