  1. Fauci now working the CYA circuit https://www.foxnews.com/health/fauci-says-asymptomatic-coronavirus-transmission-is-possible-following-who-statement-that-was-not-correct All this builds confidence (sarcasm for those who have trouble spotting that sort of thing)
  2. As long as it doesn't come from the WHO website, then I am all ears.
  3. If I look at the overall new cases across the country, they are actually going down, even though things are opening back up and we are testing more.
  4. Give it a day, it will change again.
  5. If they want to brag on a country, tell them about Vietnam. Right next door to China, and no deaths. Of course they are a communist country and will ship you out to the jungle for a few weeks if they suspect you were around someone infected, but still.
  6. Yeah, not too sharp to infect the one group we know will have a tough time with the virus. And I don't even think they made use of the ship, nor the Javits center.
  7. He just wants to rail about Trump. Trump is a moron, but the entire world is dealing with this thing, so the entire world has no leadership. Only the islands have leadership. Maybe we can dig giant motes on the northern and southern border.
  8. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ Although it is Sunday, and Sundays seem to be a low reporting day, 373 deaths is way low for what we have seen over the last couple of months.
  9. Again, until deaths start going back up, I don't think the public will do anything but open more and more. The protests are generally by folks who are from teens to 40s and not many will be adversely affected. As long as they are careful with grandparents and are not working at rest homes. Actually, as long as deaths are trending downward, would it not be smart for large numbers to continue to get the virus?
  10. Pols want votes. Issues are how they get votes. A divisive issue is what they want, and at least they did not have to create this one, it is real. And make no mistake, they do not want to solve it, they want to be needed. D or R, will do the same crap just to have an audience.
  11. We are kinda screwed. Government has anointed themselves saviors for every situation in our lives and they fail, miserably, every single day. And as you say, as long as people # something, they think they are doing their part to actually change hearts. It is soooo self serving. Everyone will do things that promote themselves or their cause during this coronavirus and racial crisis. The government and the elections this fall is going to be the biggest 3 ring circus we have ever seen. It will NOT change the hearts of the people, it is just not the way that kind of thing will work. Common sense and empathy are rare these days, and when exhibited, scorned by those with agendas or political campaigns to win. And one more thing, I think churches have dropped the ball big time. There is not a more urgent time for heeling which the church is supposed to do, than now. We should be worshiping, barbecuing, etc., and generally caring for each other, yet the distance keeps everyone from doing anything but accepting "others" opinions on each other. "Those" people, no matter who those people are, should never be outsourced to Twitter, MSM, or pols. THEY will want to form opinions based on their own agendas, Pub or Dem. Social media is great in some senses and diabolical in others.
  12. I would not put so much emphasis on your opinions guys. The whole thing has morphed from 2.2 million deaths to 110k deaths. Some states that opened early are doing fine. The things you are hearing and the sources you use, are just parroting some other source that is guessing too. What we do know is what we have know all along. Older folks and ones with certain conditions should stay waaay safe. The rest, not so much according the the numbers

  14. Either that or he'd need a catheter
  15. Looks to be about $1500 worth of stadium beer
  16. If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? Guess it depends on who tells you
  17. https://www-bloomberg-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2020-06-04/researchers-retract-lancet-study-linking-malaria-drug-to-risks Like I said many pages ago, take what you hear with a grain of salt, like the weather, it will change.
  18. If the daily deaths continue to trend downward, then not sure there is anything wrong with more and more people becoming exposed. Protecting rest homes should be a paramount concern
  19. Despite the memes, you have a point
  20. I heard Atlanta was spot for Repub convention.
  21. Apparently, it is better to die from almost anything, than to die from Covid
  22. Mostly young people, so as long as they dont work in a rest home....
  23. as opposed to straight homosexuals?
  24. More people under 40 probably got killed by falling trees in that survey
