Telling people that nobody is a hero is not being hard on pols. They have enough to now to answer to their own.

From a pure purchasing standpoint, buying and selling, why the middle ground? If teams see him as a good enough player for a 5 year deal, then how can his agent let them get by with only $5 million per season?
-
You might have the same opinion, but would not be yelling it through gritted teeth.

The anonymity of message boards is priceless

Meh, we would have acted the same if the Falcons or Saints had won also. Natural to hate to see your rivals do well, not so natural to want some sort of teenage petulant cancellation of their celebration. I knew last year that all you guys needed was a QB and hated seeing Brady and the team gel as each week went by. But the thing that stood out to me was your defense. Those guys elevated their play to Super Bowl level and was the key to the game to me

We did fairly well with the weapons we had last season even without CMC. However, there is no doubt that our TE corps could use an upgrade. As mentioned, several will be available in FA and many teams will be struggling with cap numbers, so fingers crossed. The draft will be for offense for sure, but I don't see TE being one of the main targets this draft
-
That is probably what I would do also, but again, there are 32 teams and someone will have the extra cap room for a flier
-
We have already tried getting a QB via trade, so we are looking at proven guys. Watson is all that is left unless the new GM has a line on Russell Wilson, so that leaves the draft. I do not think all 4 QB's will be gone by the time we pick. After Jacksonville, you could make the case that every team has their QB already in place. Of course you can make the case that anybody can take a QB, it is what makes us all go nuts every single time a new MOCK comes out. It is a tight rope, but I would sit tight and take Fields or Lance at 8. I think both might be there when we pick. The wild card will be SF trading in front of us with Detroit to grab someone. Most likely, if our guys think he can run our system, we will have a choice between the Mahomes type guy in Lance, or the Brady type guy in Jones. It is up to our coaches and the system they use going forward. Either way, we surround them with a lot of good players by keeping our picks. It is about the best you can do in the 8 spot

There are 32 teams with guys paid to evaluate talent. We just shoot from the hip on a message board. If Mitch was THAT good, there would be a line forming to get him. Who knows, there might be, but his inconsistency might dictate more like a 2 year deal for 7 million.

I think Wilson could be an injury concern waiting to happen. I do not like Fields inconsistency. I worry about Lance playing at less that top level competition and running our style of offense. Those things give me pause for giving up waaaay too much of things we sorely need on the HOPES that we find the next Mahomes. Chances are, most will find the next Mariota, or Carr, someone fair, but certainly not worth the draft capital you gave up to get them. Plus, I am very conservative on drafting QB's. I was scared to death when we had the number 1 pick and took Cam. I wanted to trade down. Lastly, Jones is more of a Brady than a Mahomes physically. Not saying he can perform at Super Bowl level, just using those 2 as examples. Both models can get you a Super Bowl, just not sure which type Rhule and Brady want, most Rhule since Brady will be gone in the next couple of years.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Hoping you get the green light for travel soon

No way I would trade up for a QB in this draft. Lawrence is about the only one that is pretty much got it all. The rest have a lot of "ifs" about them. No way you mortgage it all for what it would take to get someone who has the potential to bust. I think the QB talk is just that. Lance should be there at 8, maybe even Fields

Wentz update: Trade is close, with three teams involved
stirs replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wentz will do better out of Philly. 50 sacks in 12 games. Worst by far in the league. They have issues for certain in Philly. Not sure if new coach can right the ship. Philly needs to move him however to lose part of the big contract and the distraction of having 2 QB's. They will lose their pants in a trade, but they might have to bite the bullet. -
Yes, change history to suit you. Cancel them. Don't let them ever play football again. Maybe that way, YOU can win, finally. Yep, that is a much better plan
-
And give everyone their own for participation? They whipped our ass twice this year. You'd probably be better served cheering for our team to get better than trying to cancel the Bucs
-
Me too, I warned the cultists on both sides to stop putting these guys on pedestals. Nobody does well with something new like this and the worst thing is to see someone bragging about and taking accolades for something during these times. NY is second worst state in US, only behind NJ. Nobody in the country should be bragging about this past year.

McNair family "JJ, we are going to release you because we just don't think you are physically able to perform at a high level" JJ Watt "Can we make it look like my idea?"
-
Not sure the league sees JJ Watt like they did 5 years ago. He is a mess physically Houston probably explored a trade for a long time, saw it as a fruitless endeavor and just decided to go the "class" route, which is all they could salvage
-
Pretty sour grapes of Panther fans to be criticizing a Super Bowl celebration. If we ever get there, then no doubt, we will be more civil and sober throughout. A textbook example of how to celebrate like the whine and cheese crowd we are.
