Could be smoke and mirrors time

If we have to stay at 6, the best bet is an OT. At the end of the day, a FA QB would be more apt to come here next year and the QB choices are better. Picking an iffy QB prospect to be beaten up gets us nowhere next year

David "Midas" Tepper Gonna be a long year guys -
Lakers need him, they are a team of scorers who cannot stay healthy

I predict that the Huddle will absolutely love the pick

The top 3 positions that get over drafted each year are QB, the most important position OT, the protector of the most important position DE, the nemesis of the most important position The trade down scenario will probably not involve a QB that someone wants to trade up for because none are all that impressive and can be had later. OT is a deep group and the same applies. But DE, there are 3 really good ones and then a major drop in talent. Having the GA or Oregon kid there at 6 should generate some trade up offers. My opinion for what it is worth

Looks more like Huddle opinions

Carolina is not the place for potential QB's to develop, it is the place for good QB's to die

I feel like OT and DE will go fairly quickly. I don't think there will be a QB taken until possibly Seattle or beyond. Could be the 3 DE prospects go 1,2,3. Houston is who I might target for a trade down. They could take a DE at 3 and need to get the best WR in the draft. Doubt they can do that at 13. At 13, Penning should be available, maybe even Cross too. 2nd round will be luxury pick

Panthers may now be hesitant to trade back...

Yep, the value in the top 10 is DE, OT and CB -

Sets up great for the Panthers slide back and pick up a fantastic OT while letting the Saints mortgage their entire future on some big chances at QB. Then we pick up a guy in the 2nd with the extra pick and we are on our way. Next year, when the Saints have no picks, is a much better year for QB anyway- 66 replies

Not many readers are sold on Person as a journalist, but it only matters what his employer thinks -
Pigskin Paul is an old scout guy with interesting takes. Here is his mock, probably from his perspective on value, not necessarily what will happen. https://gbnreport.com/pigskin-paul-2022-projection/

And to think what he could do in a proper defense instead of the hybrid stuff we throw out there. In a typical 34, he would dominate far more than now

At 6, the value is in OT and DE No way you go after a QB at 6. Trade down w Philly, let them get their DE. Get Penning and whatever QB prospect you want in the 2nd. They are anyone's guess at that point
