  1. Bull. Giants are down a bunch of starters too. This is the ghost of bad teams past, bringing unpleasant flashbacks to the Clausen days. This is unwatchable garbage.
  2. PLEAE tell me this jerk is not wearing a Panthers jersey...

Sympathies to the young woman's family. If heeded drunk he needs to take a big hit for it.

  3. Generally speaking, I am of the opinion there are two kinds of beer int he world - your kind and the free kind. Tell me more about that pair of hips in the photo at the top of this post!
  4. The difference is that Mr. Richardson has a sense of what is right and wrong, and the kind of people he wants to have associated with this team. I'm not saying I always agree with him, but I respect his position when it comes to the organization he leads. And while I have mixed feelings about the Hardy situation, in general I do agree that character matters. This was not Greg's first brush with conduct that painted himself and the organization in a bad light. Other than combat, I can't think of any other situation where the end always justifies the means (and in civilized societies, there are even limits to what you can morally do in combat, too). Football is a game, and one that exerts a great deal of influence on the fans who watch it - particularly young ones - whether we like it or not. The Carolina Panthers are owned by a man who expects a certain standard to be maintained by those who work for him. I hate to see Greg go, but his problems are of his own making, and I respect Mr. Richardson's position on the matter. With Dean Smith's loss today, I think it's easy to point out that winning and having good character are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
  5. I'm losing confidence in Barner. He just doesn't seem to have the size or vision to get it done. Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle
  6. God write up. I agree on all points. Speaking as someone who was about thirty yards away when Kraken laid that smack down on Carson last year (it rattled MY fillings, not mention what it did to Palmer), I can't help but believe he'll have a bad case of sweaty palms when he sees Hardy lining up against him. How about a similar analysis for the offense?
  7. On another note, I was just watching Panther Huddle, and saw we won the toss last week. Haven't seen THAT in a while.
  8. Wow! I gotta admit, that doesn't happen if the oline doesn't give Cam time to hit Ginn.
  9. Williams just ties a team record for sacks. Great. Glad someone is having a good day.
  10. And now here comes the defense implosion. That's a wrap guys, see ya next year (or at least that's what it feels like).
  11. Where the heck was all that offense for the rest of the half?
  12. That's kind of the point, though. If AE has, in fact turned into the kind of receiver that RR, DG etc. seem to believe he has, then he deserves to get a shot at proving it. To cut him without that chance could be a tragic waste of talent and a disservice to someone who has exemplified what being a team player is all about. I was speaking earlier to those who seem to be unable to separate AE the player from the circumstances that saw him ending up in Carolina to begin with. There's a knee-jerk reaction to the kid that seems ill considered.
  13. You know, I think we should back off the AE bashing a bit. Yeah, he stunk it up the first two seasons, but he's kept his mouth shut and busted his hump to learn an entirely new skill position. No, I'm not an Armanti fan club guy, but I do believe in giving a guy who works hard a fair shake. By all accounts he's been one of the real headlines of this season so far, with glowing reports from everyone who's been asked about him. None of the circumstances that put him in a Panther uniform are his fault. He's done the work. If we can keep a clipboard holding QB around for no discernible purpose for a couple of years, I think we can probably afford to let the AE experiment go a bit longer to see if it is truly about to bear fruit. It took Greg Hardy a couple of years to get it in gear, too.
