Well, since he out who would be the next most coveted DC for us?
-
I hope Reich can retain Campen and Tabor. That would be a good start for his staff.

Yes, that was a lot of work and I appreciate it. Great job putting it together. Thanks!

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
Thompcat replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dallas could be in wings for Payton if Quinn and Moore get other coaching jobs. They move McCarthy up and hire Payton and Fangio. -
Thank you! This thread has gotten out of hand with so much in it.
-
I think things were pointing in that direction, but now we won't know. I know I just can't stand the thought of Sean Payton.
-
No no no to Payton. I just can't imagine him being in Carolina.
-
Sorry, I'm in Key West on vacation and I evidently can't write with the drinks.
-
I just can't get behind having ass face here. I just don't see us having him coach here. It's just some things you never want when you have such a bitter rival. Maybe I'm wrong but if he gets the job I going to need some time before I can get support him.
-
And we thought that we had clown. He is beyond help.
-
Is anyone else surprised on how many interviews are set up? I would have thought that they would have over the last 12 weeks gotten the list down to 4 or 5.
-
You know Wilks wants the job and he is going into his interview equipped to sell Tepper and the others on his plan. What if and all is a big if, he has Reich as OC, Caldwell would come in as a consultant primarily for offense/ Qb, and have a committed Flores as DC. That would be a good staff. I am not saying any of that could happen but he is going to have to have a great vision and plan to have a chance. I just don't think he has a chance because of the fact that Tepper wants and sees it needs to be a offense minded head coach
-
Not that I have heard. Hope to hear they have soon.
-
I would love to hear it first hand. What does he have for the OC and thoughts on the direction of the offense. The Qb and getting someone to develop him. The defense and the changes he wants. Who he has to put in those positions.
-
True, and time will tell. I'm just wanting to know who all they have on the list. Just impatient
-
Well they have had 12 to 13 weeks since Rhule was fired to do their research. All background checks and checking their fit with what they are looking for shouldhavebeen done. They should have a list and have a good idea who they want. Let's get this done.

Nobody has said that Richardson is a finished product, he's raw and has a very high ceiling

Report: Panthers to interview Jim Caldwell, Frank Reich
Thompcat replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the Packers win, we should be able to talk to Ben Johnson and Shane Walden fairly soon. I like both of them. -
Wilkes is a interim head coach that did not get to pick his coordinators or players. The schemes ran both on the offense and defense was put into place and he could do but so much change. In the interview I would love to be able to sit in and hear what changes he has in mind. If he was going to get new coordinators and want to get someone in to help develop a Qb I would have a difficult decision to make. I don't think that is going to be his approach and it will be his downfall of being our head coach. Tepper can and probably screw this up but I hope Tepper lets our Gm and Dan Morgan make the decision and he would endorse it. We can dream. I really think we need to just go another direction and if we don't we will always wonder what if we had hired this guy or this guy instead of keeping Wilkes and his new staff.

Stroud has looked good but that OL has been working hard to give him time in the pocket.
-
What would a tie do?
-
GO CARDS GO!!!
-
Just think, most of the coaches will be hired or a team will be waiting to hire a playoff contending team's coach a month from now.
-
Do you think if Wilkes is retained that Reich as OC would be a possibility? The good thing about that would be Reich is older and has connections to NC, so maybe he would stay on for awhile. This versus Wilkes hiring a young up and coming guy continously. Just a thought.

Thanks, I will see after tonight's and tomorrow night's games if anything changes
