  1. As much as we suck, man that’s gotta be frustrating for Colts fans. The ability is so clearly there but he just doesn’t have the makeup for it.

Taking himself out of the game for what everyone knew would be a handoff says more to me than the stat line tbh, as I think it speaks to his unlikelihood (or likelihood, depending on how you look at it) of ever putting in the work necessary to meet his potential I don’t think he really understands the magnitude and responsibility of being QB1 for a franchise.  Also said he was a “great passer” and it’s just like…read the room man.

Def reading a lot into a small series of events but it does seem like what will be a deciding moment of his career

I don't think he was worth what people think here.

I don’t think he was necessarily worth a “lot”, I was expecting a 4th or so, maybe a 5th…but to also send them our 6th? It basically amounts to moving up five or 6 spots from round 6 to the bottom of round 5

Couldve have Stroud. Couldve had Richardson. Couldve had Williams. Couldve had Daniels. Instead we pissed it all away on the worst option by making the worst draft trade in NFL history.

AR is one of the worst QBs in the NFL this year and is quickly playing himself out of a third year shot (team was not happy about him subbing himself out of you see the Steichen quote pre Ryan Williams quote)

but yea we could’ve had any one of Stroud, Williams, Maye or Daniels, feels great!!

Wilks wouldn't have had Luvu and Chinn run away like they did with Evero. The 34 no pressure defense wouldn't be here. The score wouldn't be 0-30 at the half. Wilks knows how to call a defensive game and prepare a team even with scrubs like he had in Arizona/Rosen 2018, Cleveland 2019/Mayfield and Carolina/Walker 2022.

Wilks did out coach Ejiro Evero, Dave Canales, Dan Campbell, Dennis Allen, Todd Bowles, Arthur Smith, Mike Tomlin, Ron Rivera, Mike McCarthy, Dan Quinn, Matt LaFleur, Nick Sirianni, Johnathon Gannon, Pete Carroll, Shane Waldron, Brian Daboll, and Doug Pederson in 2022 and 2023.

How many SB winning HCs or coordinators is that?

Wilks has also been competitive against the last 2 SB winning HCs. Remind me of Evero's success in coaching the past 3 seasons as a DC? Thumped by Andy Reid and Sean McVay. Handled Arthur Smith and Pederson?

I'd go for a Canales and Wilks combo, but the Teppers may have burned that bridge. Wilks is still in Charlotte and I have no doubt he could walk in and improve the defense if they fired Evero tonight.

AZ had the 26th ranked defense his only year as HC. Year before they were ranked 19th.

If any of what you said above were true he wouldn’t be unemployed right now

Could solve future at QB by trading for Justin Fields NOW...Steelers get choice of 2.... Bryce or M Sanders or Johnson or Mingo

Trading for Fields would absolutely not solve our QB issues for the future, it would just be a continuation of the awful trend that got us here - trading assets  for what ultimately amounts to a bandaid over an amputation wound.

  6. Sometimes reading this board would have you think Wilks was the reincarnation of Lombardi. The reality is that the state of the franchise is just currently so bad that people are yearning for mediocrity - buts that’s all Wilks was, a mediocre head coach. I don’t mean it disparagingly, it’s just a fact - otherwise he’d be employed by a team right now.

While I think a lot of us would kill for even “mediocre” football right now,  I don’t think it’s something we should necessarily strive for.

Bryce is bad no disagreement on that.

Stay with me. You telling me if Bryce goes to a better roster like Miami or San Francisco he wouldn't improve automatically just because of the talent around him?

Considering the offensive talent around him improved this off season and he responded by putting up back to back career and historically bad QB performances, I’m gonna go ahead and say that’s far from automatic.

Dont get me wrong, Tep is dreadful and I wish he’d sell the team or entirely remove himself from the football side of things, but I think the org bares responsibility for the situation they brought him into last year, but his play this year is purely on him. If he showed any progress whatsoever, like at ALL, he would still be starting

  8. Tepper is the worst owner in the NFL and Bryce young isn’t an NFL QB. Both can be true.

if you as a player put up your two worst career performances *after* the organization spends the entire offseason trying to build around you, that’s on you. I gave him a pass for last year but the last two weeks have been *historically* bad. Bryce just doesn’t have it.

  9. Not to say he was great last year (because he obviously wasn’t) but he’s most definitely regressed since last year.

the level of regression after improving the offense around him and bringing in a guy *specifically* to develop him is part of what makes it so, so bad. I don’t think anyone was anticipating a two game leash going into the season but his play regressed so much and so clearly that it necessitated it.

This decision and accountability from Canales gives me a lot of confidence in him as the Head Coach moving forward

Got right to the point, straight-forward, and moving on

Same.  Was refreshing to hear him say it’s his responsibility to be absolutely critical of what they put in tape and acknowledge that he said Bryce was still the QB before watching film and that after he did, Andy straight up gives us the better chance to win. No bullshit and straight to the point.
