Where will the wins come from? (my early predictions)
Cat Fanboy replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I predict if we win more then 6 games the same people here thinking we do less will be *itching because we didn't do more. -
I still don't like we traded up one spot. I keep hearing '5th year option' and don't care...that's for QB's and if they are good enough for 5th year friggin resign them anyway. Bills are winners. Beane nailed it. He didn't have anyone with a first round grade and stuck to his guns. Chicago...of course its just me but WR with 2nd pick?? They got Allen and Moore and decide they need another?

The More I Hear, The More I like Dave Canales
Cat Fanboy replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I figured the best source for Canales was dropping over at Pewter Report... the consensus there seems to be rage. Many wanted Canales as their HC and they really really hate he has gone here. Sooo....good news! -
That is actually a great analogy - but we need to tweak it a little right? Our favorite restaurant has sucked since new owner took over. We are really mad about this - but we do see the new owner has fired two managers already and we see him really mad now...I am frustrated and disappointed but I sure am not going to hate a guy I see trying his best! He needs to stay out of the kitchen. Just look at the replies here of how many people think he should stick with what he knows - financial stuff. I don't really disagree - but I wonder how much his decisions have impacted Fitt, Rhule, and Reich? I mean at the end of the day NONE of us know who really wanted what talent. We speculate and all seem to believe that only Tepper wanted Bryce or whatever but we dont KNOW. We know Fitt has sucked at his choices - is that because he has been handcuffed by Tepper or because he sucks??? He is still here so maybe Tepper has realized he is to blame and not Fitt? I know he is in the kitchen getting in the chef's way but I'm still blaming the chef. and no - I didn't think you were a noob with 10k posts...but getting tired of people thinking I am some kind of employee/PR/paid person instead of just a fan. I keep hoping one of the known reasonable people will reply like Lady Panther or even Zod - maybe a stretch as he once posted Tepper is the worst owner ever but...meh.
-
I expect the vitriol and the poo - people hate when others don't agree with their opinions. I would ask yourself why YOU hate Tepper. Yeah we all hate losing but you can SEE he hates it as much as we do. Seriously it doesn't make sense to me. As far as omg what have I heard...employee, Tepper himself, his wife....lol....I have been a Panther fan probably longer than you have been alive. According to your profile you joined the Huddle in 2019. Tepper bought the team in what...2018? You are more likely an employee then me. Whatever. Hate away...just do some critical thinking on your own and stop being led by Media.

My biggest reason is he isn't stingy with his money. If you look at "the truly hated" owners in the league you will find the ones hated the most are super stingy and won't pay players or coaches. We have an owner that will pay Rhule and Reich tons of cash to GO... I mean who WOULDN'T want this in an owner. Second reason is his passion. He seems to love the Panthers as much as we all do. He clearly hates losing - again probably as much as many here that come whining after a loss. That's all I got, but I feel it's worth mentioning that he doesn't have a drug problem like the Colts owner, he doesn't pay for massages with happy endings, and he isn't an idiot like Jerry Jones. ...and sure...maybe he has done all that and worst but hasn't been caught...just going with what we know.

Challenge accepted! Bryce Young is legit. With some experience and some better line help I think we will like what we have. For sure he is better than all other NFC quarterbacks! Ridder? Carr? Mayfield? It may be THIN but its true - Young is better! No WAY does Fitt last 3 years. Our defense is soooo close to being playoff caliber. Once offense catches up....I have to believe it will be 1-2 years not 3!

I expected poo but didn't expect to be called a troll! I think I'd rather have the poo... so my post is way outside of mainstream...seems like everyone hates Tepper. I didn't post to troll but to shout out that he ISN"T a bad owner. Few others mention I left out winning and that's totally valid...for myself I blame GM (and obviously we all wonder when Tepper will fix that mistake). We need to do a better job of recognizing talent and keeping it for sure.
-
I know - unpopular opinion - but I'll take Tepper over half of the other owners. Why do people hate him? Being rich? Getting rid of loved players? Bad hiring choices? Throwing water on people? Meddles with real football people? What did I miss...isn't that enough right? Maybe I just see things different...heck I know I do. I still think Rhule got a bum deal so what do I know. Being rich doesn't make you evil. Not that I would know but it seems that being rich gives you far less patience. Either way this has to be the worst reason for not liking him. Helping/allowing/making GM's get rid of loved players....ok it SUCKS and it's a judgement call....but as much as I love CAM for example he was done when Watt (?) destroyed his shoulder. I can shrug and question the judgement but I'm not the one signing paychecks either. Bad hires...yeah this is on him....but I think we have to give credit for him cutting his losses and owning his mistakes. Reich turned out to be wrong person for wrong time and he fixed his error. All we can do is fix our errors. This doesn't make him a bad owner. Throwing water...assaulting...bad judgement for sure. Do I hate him for it? I'll let the media crucify him....me? I LOVE the passion...hell yeah...damn right...talk crap right in my face and you roll the dice. All these fights we see in the stands? Thats people not letting opposing fans talk crap IMO - it ISN"T right and it DOESN"T excuse it...but I get it. Tepper is my friggin hero now. The 'meddles' is what kills me. Media LOVES this....and the sheep that read it follow it. If I was an owner you are DANGED right I am going to meddle...I'll call it be engaged in MY team...meddles...omg I still crack up every time I see someone saying this. I would bet ALL of you guys - cause if there is ONE thing we all have in common is we are Panther fans! If you own the friggin team you are going to do what YOU want. Period. Would some of you listen to experts more? Probably. I would....but it would be MY choice and Tepper has always echoed this. So...yes...I know what awaits me. Poo ahead. I really like our owner and I think we have great things ahead!

I wish some of them were our fans...they sound far more logical than alot of people here! From Fin Haven: https://finheaven.com/threads/poor-panther-fans.380419/ No one made them draft Bryce when Stroud was sitting there - hard to feel for them Feel for them. They’re going to regret passing on Stroud for the next decade+ Sure looks like they screwed the pooch on that one, never could understand what they were thinking. Now DJ Moore is going OFF, Stroud looks great and Da Bears may just have your number one pick next year, dark days indeed. Bryce Young is getting the Tua treatment by the media right now, and we all remember how brutal that was. Stroud is Young's Justin Herbert, so I'm sure some Panthers fans are getting ready to throw in the towel on him like some of us were on Tua early, especially after seeing Herbert's early success. I feel for the Panther fans, but they need to be patient on Bryce Young. The kid needs help. We were in their shoes a few short years ago...I don't wish that dread on anybody (except NE and Buffalo). Don't want to disrespect any opponent. With that being said, Carolina has its work cut out for them. They are a young team undergoing growing pains and the current setup is doing Bryce Young no favors. Agreed with you and what a poster above saying that Bryce is in eerily the same situation Tua was in a couple years back. Time will tell if coaching and experience will help him. Derrick Brown is the one guy the Panthers have I worry about 5 games in? Let the kid develop man. Such a need for instant gratification. For me, it not like Herbert/Tua. Tua was universally deemed the better QB. The only concern was injury. That's exactly how it's played out in the NFL. With Stroud/Young nothing was universal. You ask 10 scouts or GMS who's better and it will probably be split. The problem, which is not Youngs fault, is what the Panthers traded away to get him. It unfairly makes the need for him to be better quicker. They didn't just trade Young. They traded up and chose him. Seriously, switch the QBS. Does anyone honestly believe if Stroud was a Panther he would be having the same season? So I guess, in that aspect, it is similar to Tua/Herbert Brian burns and Jacycee Horn are damn good players.

Could Both Fitterer and Reich Be Safer Than We Think?
Cat Fanboy replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't say the entire fan base...just you loud ones with no patience. -
Great write up - I appreciate the time you took. For myself - I don't understand why everyone seems to have zero patience....or maybe they just have really illogical expectations. We should have gotten stomped Sunday and we did...and Miami should stomp us well. So the run game sucks because defense loads the box. They blow up the expected screen pass we use to block that so all we have left is to fire downfield and Chark isn't getting it done. MAKE the screen passes work.....my only issue with Reich is he doesn't seem to be coaching the players on not moving until ball is snapped and not giving Bryce enough time to look at the defense...friggin every play that counter is in red. Best thing that seemed to happen was Sanders fumble.....Shenault is a playmaker.

I still defend Rhule. I haven't posted anything in his defense as I am more of a lurker, and because it seems the rest of the world has given up on him / hate him. When he was brought on I remember hearing he turns programs around in 3 years. I was fine with that. We are in year 3. For me, he has this year to show it. What gives me hope: I think there is a LOT of talent on the team. I believe we are much better now than 2 years ago. Our defense is young and fast. Our Oline seems to be I love our Defense. I think our Oline is better as well...not really sure. I had hope from training camp notes. Week 1 the Browns killed us but talk about talent...rough first week matchup for our Oline. QB - I do like Baker...I think he is way better than Sam. I am annoyed at his passes being batted down..and the snap fumble stuff but I mean he hasn't been here that long to really gel with Oline / WR. Unfair criticism - so a few posts on this thread people are asking for what is unfair to blame Rhule on. I'll take a shot at it: 1. Talent. Does he draft our players or is that Fitt? Someone else mentioned this as well. From what I have read he seems to have be a strong decision maker. Lets say 10 people here wanted us to draft a QB. We get Horn and pass on Fields...those 10 people are going to stay angry unless Horn is crazy good. I trust Rhule knows more about football then I do. Is he / did he make mistakes? Sure - his name is Rhule not Jesus. Look at Ian Thomas. How many Huddlers wanted (want) him gone? Super mad he got a contract? Thomas has been awesome these last 2 games.....for as much as we use TE anyway. 2. Play calling. Is he calling the punt on their 33 yard line? Is he going for it on 4th down? Is he stepping on the field during play? Is he saving time outs? Over using CMC? Under using CMC? Honestly I don't know if these are his calls, audibles, OC calls. Some clearly are his fault. We all "loved us some OC Brady"...until we didn't. Wilkes, Snow....we all love them until we dont. Our 2nd half play calling has been GREAT - something I haven't seen in YEARS. Can it be better? Yes - but also hindsight is 20/20. These last 2 games have been CLOSE. Ugly too. First two possessions are turn overs? UGH. That is NOT Rhule's fault. Chubba and Robbie messed up. 3. Staff. Is he bringing in the wrong people? It 'seems' like we have really good people in right positions....what they don't have is the time to work together and see things done. Honestly, I'd give Rhule ANOTHER year because of all the changes. Let Baker and our OC's have a full year together and see what we can do next year. Other points: Fire him fire him fire him...who are you going to replace him with? Another circulation of a coach that got fired from somewhere else? Tank....I know there are Huddlers whom are total fans of tanking for picks....I've always thought that was ridiculous. First - because I can't see a FAN ever wanting my team to lose and second because history shows us the really great people seem to be drafted late. This is my opinion....course I also wanted Rivera to stay and was quiet during all the fire him posts. Flame away....

Talk to me about the Texans. What do you know?
Cat Fanboy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Time to load the box and force Mills to beat us. -
For me it was the lack of 2nd half adjustment. Now this could be that I carry this over for the YEARS of us never seem to be making adjustments..and it could be that the Jets were the ones who made adjustments....not sure...but they did better and we didn't.
