There was no Keep Pounding chants at all today at the game. None lead by the stadium board etc which is usually always been done to start the game and several times throughout. Anybody else find that peculiar? and was that an intentional omission Guess it might be up to the fans in the seats to keep that going ourselves. I still find it strange that it was none existent today, that they didn’t even try once to get it going.

Cam Newton says 2016 shoulder injury affected him for years

No penalty called on this one ... just like many other brutal hits Cam took and this hit by Watt was clearly a spear as he lead with his helmet. -
Cam Newton says 2016 shoulder injury affected him for years
grateflday replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Huddle Lounge
Have to take Cam's comment it all started in 2016, but if there was any hope of recovery ... this was the hit that officially ended Cam's shoulder. Week 10 in 2018. -
I hear you and agree it’s more than just parking revenue but also a person who has made billions is counting the revenue they’re not getting from parking as part of the picture. Overall I agree he wants a big entertainment, sports district and if he buys the pipe factory land hopefully he builds all kinds of stuff there and leaves the stadium where it’s at for all the other reasons i mention in my posts.

I agree and don’t think building a new stadium would be very popular right now (even in best of times it’s not very popular) and now especially coming out of Covid etc and lots of unknowns about the future etc its not something that would go over well. The stadium has the main thing the owners want which is the suites and club seats, of which BofA has plenty. There is also lots of room inside to add amenities. They don’t have the party decks, but have put out scenarios where they can add them. The only real and main thing I see it doesn’t have and what Tepper wants is maybe a retractable roof. Hopefully this discussion simply continues for years, never gets done , or they retrofit and upgrade the current stadium for football because I have awesome seats and don’t want to lose them .

For people who think and say having a stadium at a location where you have a big parking lot around the stadium makes it easier to get in and out are totally mistaken. I’ve been to plenty of stadiums like that and it can takes hours to get out of there after games. Stadiums and even arenas with big massive parking lots are the worst. Having the parking spread out all across the city like it is now makes it much easier & quicker to get on the road after a game. The only negative (for Tepper only) is he doesn’t get to participate in the parking revenue the current way. Overall, for many reasons, the best location for the stadium is where it is now and despite the fact I don’t think Panthers need one (still a very nice stadium, with plenty of suites, club seats etc) the most likely scenario will be to play somewhere else while they tear down and build at the current location. Or simply keep upgrading the current stadium and if possible retrofit with a retractable dome so Tepper can have his final fours and other stuff.

NE at home early in the season,,,, either week 1 or 2. The league will want Cam playing QB when the Patriots come to town and that is most likely early. The longer season goes on, increases chances he gets hurt or replace by Jones (the latter being less likely)

In hindsight the best strategy would have been to go into last season with Allen and Heinike and hope to end up with a top four or better pick. Instead they brought in Bridgewater hoping for a winning season. Instead Teddy was mediocre at best, pretty avg to bad in the second half of almost all the games and 0-8 in game winning drive attempts ALL with like you said skill players. So the Panthers are still no better with Teddy unless he improves tremendously, which I don't see happening based on what we have seen, and most likely the Panthers are again on the outside looking in at drafting a top QB and having to trade away future draft picks to move up or hope someone falls. If anything, should Darnold suck as bad as you think the team ends up in a better draft position and we are still going QB next year in the draft or on the flip side he does improve tremendously and we dont have to daft a QB next year. With Teddy at helm, the Panthers are definitely still having to draft a QB in 2022. I really dont see much downside bringing in Darnold. Worst case the panthers are in the same position they would have been anyway and if anything with a better draft position for a QB.

Bottom line for me is Bridgewater played average to poorly in the second half in almost every game last season. He was also 0-8 on game winning or go ahead drives. The roster was good enough to not look that bad as a QB and to have at least one or two game winning drives.. a QB who can elevate his team or was a even top fifteen QB would have done more with less and would have played better. Unless the coaches and GM don't like a QB to draft then I'm fine with Teddy this next upcoming season but wont be expecting much more than what we saw last season (unfortunately). The Panthers definitely need a QB that is not Teddy,,, whether it be this season or next.

This for sure. That was the worst thing and part about the whole Cam Newton thing ...

Upate: sweet ... for my two seats combined, only a total increase of $64.38 . Makes sense since it would have been really poor optics for a big increase in prices right now with no fans last season, and uncertainty going forward. Not that Tepper really cares. My guess is he will wait for bigger increase for when the Panthers hopefully have their next franchise QB and starting winning again

I hear ya and am right there with you. We've sat through some pretty awful football at times. Overall I enjoy being at the stadium on game days and what I miss this most is being able to focus on particular players, spots or positions on the field .. instead of only seeing what they show you on tv.
-
I will not walk away. I just don't like to pay an increases on anything and just a little nervous about how much this years could be; but overall I still enjoy and miss going to the stadium on game days and season tickets to the Panthers is one of the few things I'm still fine paying for.
-
Seeing what Tepper charged for soccer (apparently some of the most expensive tickets in the league for a team who hasn't ever played yet) ... I'm a little nervous with what, if any, ticket price increase might look like for the upcoming season. I can't see how they could justify an increase, but you never know and they'll probably use the "all the money we spent to make the stadium covid safe" excuse. We will see soon

with this stuff. I would have been "happier" had the Panthers lost to WFT and in a way kind of wanted that BUT what did the tank the game people want the Panthers to do?? Did you watch that game? WTF was not just bad that day but horrible ... tanking or trying to lose that game would have been almost impossible. That is how bad WFT was that day.

Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select Shaq Thompson
grateflday replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
When it comes to the draft my attitude is you have to just trust the guys who are paid to do this for a living and are supposed to know what they are doing. We drafted Luke when we were were stacked at LB. We have been puzzled before and ended up with some studs. Plus what I found interesting when they were talking about the pick, was the part about possibly grooming him to play Safety AND we need some of those. Panthers definitely still need some play makers on offense though. -
Hardy to choose between Cowboys and Bucs
grateflday replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
With Hardy's personality and mindset ... the Cowboys are a perfect fit. He only ends up in Tampa if he wants to stick it to the Panthers two times a year. -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks
grateflday replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Hardy is not brought back for any other reason than the impact his contract would have on building the overall roster then it's b.s. That is the only reason not to. All the others, at this stage, is garbage. -
Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
grateflday replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
The ONLY reason the Panthers should not bring Hardy back is if they can't get him to sign a contract that makes sense for the plans of building the roster. Any other reason to not sign him, and if they did not because of them, would be b.s. -
Not at all, or at least how I see it. Then why not just settle, and or plead guilty at the first stage when he went in front of the judge. It was a misdemeanor, he would have gotten his two game (which then the NFL changed to 6) suspension and moved on. I guess maybe after all this time he realized he would lose?? but I don't see it. You don't go this far into the process and start jury selection if you do not feel like you are innocent.
-
For the right price... BRING Hardy back. The only reason they shouldn't and I would support is if the cost is to much, and hurts our cap. Any other reason not to is b.s

This past season was the first year I had one of those :-) ... it is nice. Even when we go out to eat, or somewhere it comes in handy.

Without a doubt this has been one of the most frustrating parts of the past ~4 years. It all started when Fox got fired and they kept Hurney. Right then and there both should have gone.
