Top 5 draft targets for positions of need
NorthTryon replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
His stat line was 2 TOT, 1 solo. And they gave up 153yds rushing. Yeah, I was watching the right guy. -
Top 5 draft targets for positions of need

No, go back and watch the OSU Miami game. And as a football fan, you do know getting blocked completely out of the play means you don't get a chance to miss a tackle right? He is a freak athlete, but doesn't do well in sifting through blocking and stopping the run. Maybe he can get better at that. Yes I have seen him wreak havoc sideline to sideline, blitz well on passing downs, come up and tackle in coverage, but getting off blocks in the hole is a weakness. Early in the 2nd quarter he had his hands on his hips and it was downhill from there. I tuned into the game to watch him and Reese on defense. -
Top 5 draft targets for positions of need

And Dallas can have him. Something about Miami just running straight at him over and over to a victory doesn't sit well with me. It reminds me of the Minnesota vs. Dallas game last year where Minnesota ran downhill at Parsons the whole game effectively taking him out of the game. We need another ILB leader and I believe that is CJ Allen out of Georgia. I would look to take one of the Miami OLBs who were coached by a HOF OLB in Taylor at 19 and get Allen in the 2nd. -
REPORT: Cade Mays will hit the free-agent market

Cool, I also look at the fact that he was a leader at both schools, was never injured, and both teams were highly competitive! -

You are the 3rd person I've heard talk about Coogan. I looked him up and in addition to your case, he is apparently a great leader, locker room guy, and majors in the best ability which is availability! They are talking about solid depth piece in the draft, but Jeff Saturday had a horrible draft grade and played 10+ years. -
There are multiple plays where he runs past coverage or takes the top off a defense and our QB cannot or will not make the throw. Its like the play in Atlanta never happened at all. He runs right past the CB with speed and catches a well thrown ball. I have seen several fans on other platforms say he would eat with a QB like Cam. Cam isn't our QB anymore and XL and Bryce aren't on the same page. Maybe you do move on, but acting like a kid is a bust when your QB is turning in 54 yard passing games and your coach has to augment a huge chunk of his playbook to accommodate the QB's limitations is weird to me. People got their panties in a bunch because they don't have evidence of XL spending 14 hours a day on football. Hell, even Luke went fishing. And the social media stuff is a generational thing. TMAC has an active social media account. I think its lame, but a person could do both.

Our rookie seems to be calling out our defensive scheme
NorthTryon replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
For this to be the year of development, Princely really didn't get many snaps. And yes, I would hate to be a ten sack college player and ride the pine while QBs sat in the pocket all day to carve up my team. That's just competitiveness. I get the frustration. -
Especially when you are watching film and see that your scheming WRs open is working while simultaneously seeing your QB struggle to get it done.

S Fowler Coker in, Legette out as wr2
NorthTryon replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is my gripe. Ladd would struggle here too with our QB limitations. He is playing with Warren Moon, with Joe Gibbs as coach, compared to what our WRs deal with. People will say this in another thread and then immediately come back to flip out in a Legette thread. I've seen XL be open haven taken the top off a two high safety look and there is just no way that Bryce can or will make that throw. The same people still talking about Ladd should might as well keep bringing up Stroud. Moreso than him being this brainless moron, I feel like there is no place for XL here with this QB. His 90yds in the Atlanta game and his small sample size of play with Dalton proves the guy isn't useless. A lot of things would look a lot different for a lot of people in our organization if the signal caller was different. Since it isn't, XL is just one more thing for guys to be mad at. -
S Fowler Coker in, Legette out as wr2
NorthTryon replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coker has really stepped up to draw as much positivity for himself out of our current QB's limitations. When you are only getting six or less targets a game, it is imperative you catch them all. XL has dropped some passes, so has TMAC. Coker has not. Putting their production side by side is meaningless as TMAC cannibalized most of the 100-150 yds per game that Bryce doles out. One of the few games Bryce had more than 150yds passing, what do you know, XL has 90yds receiving and a touchdown. I'll say it again, throwing away a 1st round pick, acting like you know the kid doesn't want to play football, and has a low IQ is ridiculous while simultaneously talking about QB up grades/trash play in other threads. -
Yeah, a more productive QB may make certain WRs already considered busts more productive. I am just glad Bryce finally took a walk on the wild side and gave Coker a chance in the endzone.

I got a fever. And the only cure, is more Princely.

We need Reuben Bain out of Miami. He is projected to go early twenties and has been coached by Jason Taylor. Kid has crazy bend, can hold at the point of attack, and possesses a high motor. They keep winning, that could change, but kid is a game changer. -
It was on the line when he hired Morris. I remember watching that press conference and thinking the countdown to both of the getting fired starts now.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
NorthTryon replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Once it was tied up 17 all and we punted, I knew what the outcome would be. The betting line was +2.5 vs -2.5 and the Saints ended up winning by three. I started immediately thinking of the hands to the face, the horseshite alignment call on the kickoff return. The three obvious first downs where catches were overturned or the ball was spotted a yard short. That's why I was so mad at Dave for turning down the 50-52yd FG to go up 10. I was texting my friends that we need to get points and get out of here with a win because keeping it close gives the officials a lot of leeway! -
Ego, they are garbage and most coaches feel like they field a better team with better scheming. Also, personnel differences. Plus, coaches can't count on 11 flags and numerous horrible spots to keep their teams in the game against us.

Rooting for Zane was weird because he was their third signee at kicker and was pulling the 0fer for long kicks. I was like please get it inside the 50 so he'll at least have a chance!

Number 4 in the playoff picture!

I never said anything about Jonathan Mingo bud. You keep bringing his name up for some reason. But real quick, how's that Derrick Brown dismissal in the aforementioned timeframe working out for ya?
-
I'm not going to continue to derail this man's DB appreciation thread. I'll keep hoping our players get better and you just keep dismissing them before they even play half of their first contract. I just prefer to wait a tad longer than one, one and half seasons before declaring people complete busts.
-
Wow, you really were mad about that weren't you? I just said you may be wrong. You instantly resorted to name calling and just down right nastiness. Wow, and I thought you were one of the more sensible posters here. See, I was wrong there wasn't I? I just needed to wait until we had the right difference in point of view for you to turn into a total schmuck and give a schmuck response.

Boy, you really have a hard on for this guy don't you? I was merely pointing out where the negativity and bust talk is at this point in Panthers' fandom. It is pointed at XL right now. You were wrong about DB, and you may be wrong here. But I guess you wouldn't be Shonuff if you didn't do with the confidence of a three year old wearing a Batman t-shirt.
