  1. Come on dude. They literally signed a barista the week of that game to play corner because the secondary was so depleted. Three of those scores were just Brady tossing it up and CBs who are no longer on the team not being able to stop basic heaves to the end zone. You act like coaches don't need talent or something. Now if they got blown out like that with the 9ers or Cowboys talent on defense then I could see why you are being so dismissive. Either way, Reich looks like shite and all the new shiny OCs who took jobs are losing as well. And that's with entire organizational support owner as well as GM. That is all I am saying is dude deserved a shot with that kind of support even if the leash would've been short.
  2. Yeah, but do you also vividly remember it being Rhule's players, GM, and OC? Do you remember the QBs that started both the Cinci and Pittsburgh games? Lastly, do you remember what was left in the secondary by the week of the Bucs game? How can you hold that resurgence of misfit toys against the man when he basically took nothing and made it respectable? I would just like Wilks to get the shot that let's say Kingsbury got after him, the shot McDaniels is getting after Flores. Just once, I would like to see what he could do with an organization behind him. We definitely looked a lot more competent against the Lions than this year. Again, you guys would rather support a snot nosed coordinator than established team leaders. Quit being swept up in the shiny video game OC coaching style. You still have to run the ball and play defense. We have only been able to do that for five or so weeks in the last four years and you know who the coach was.
  3. Steve Wilks could've brought in Thomas Brown to be OC. Never got and never will get the chance though. People talked on here like he was an incompetent fool. And look at what it looks like we have now.
  4. And I gave him the benefit of the doubt as most reports were that Rhule had total control, but wow what a terrible host of moves Ftts has made since Rhule got fired.
  5. Rhule and Fitterer have left this team devoid of talent with little optimism for future talent acquisition. Once a starter goes down, we are doomed.
  6. All I know is the Texans brought in a defensive minded HC and look competitive. Who knows, Wilks may have been able to bring in a Shanahan disciple like Ryans did in Houston, but according to Huddlers he would never be willing to do that. WIlks never was able to pick his OC in Arizona and they are literally under investigation for their suspended GM using a burner phone to still try and manipulate Wilks during his one year. They drafted a QB that he didn't want and fired him after one year. He comes here and is the only respectable member of Rhule's staff. He is made interim and makes the team competitive. Then after garnering all of that support he doesn't get a shot at the HC position. Check it, none of us know what the hell Steve Wilks would've been as a HC because he will never get the chance with his staff, his players, and his GM. This happens to black coordinators way too much as they are asked to come in and right the ship in turmoil, but dismissed at any chance to have an organization behind them. All the pricks on here saying John Fox, Rivera 2.0 literally have no idea if he would coach that way. But you all are willing to put the organization, draft picks, optimism, and most importantly your dollar behind snot nosed coordinators who have proved nothing! Yet, Wilks is just quietly coaching San Fran's defense into smashing all the teams who think they are good into dust week in and week out. The man is just a flat out leader. No matter, you (Rivera, Fox 2.0) dicks would rather have an OC with no team identity and lose. Well that's what we have. Reap the Harvest! 0-5.....
  7. I was thinking about that last night!
  8. This was a play I saw in preseason and I was like wow, that is a preseason play. I will be glad when the season starts so that we won't be running terrible plays like that. I believe the quote from Reich was "we are putting our players in the worst position possible to see how they react". Seems to me like that is still the gameplan five games into the season. If nobody was on the field Ian Thomas would only get a 12 yard gain max after catch!
  9. This is the kind of crap Steve Wilks had to deal with in Arizona and subsequently that record was and experience is why many here acted like he was a pariah!
  10. What is with this offense? Our line went from being one of the biggest strengths to giving up all the pressure. We switched to a zone blocking scheme apparently which nobody told Miles Sanders because he never cuts back to open lanes and it has ruined Ickey on giving up pressures. He was a damn stalwart tackle last year who had begun to manhandle DEs by the end of the season. I mean it was downright brutal the way we were running the ball and smashing defenses at the end of the year. Now we're having twenty something runs for 80yds! I understand the kid is similar to Brees in stature, but he is not ready to run that offense! And everybody wanted a damn offensive guy and Wilks was a joke of a candidate. Now the offense they have curated for Bryce is the most pathetic, basic strategy I think I have ever witnessed.
  11. Sure enough did! CJ is making flick of the wrist throws in coverage!
  12. I believe Hurney had some great qualities as you can see in his protege in Buffalo. The thing is Beane took the best and eliminated the other stuff like loyalty to declining players and negotiating against yourself in free agency. Also, Brandon will go and get a difference making player if his team is in need mid season. Lastly, there isn't a parade of players to IR every year and no kicking the can down the road extensions!
  13. DJ Moore had four 1,000yd seasons with some of the most garbage QBs and OCs in Panther history. So I will 2nd crazy talk!
  14. And coming from a guy who was sitting in Matt Rhule's driveway when he returned from vacation to offer him a record breaking contract.
  15. To me though that seems what Tepper has always wanted. He doesn't want a big larger than life character at QB. When they said they were really close on pulling the trigger on Richardson or Bryce and had excluded CJ, I was like we're taking Bryce. Since Tepper got rid of Ron and Cam, have we had a QB over 6'2" who wasn't plain, non seasoned, mushy rice to give to fans?
  16. I just hate that Tepper went ultra safe and tried to sell it with the package of first QB to throw a TD in franchise history and pulled at the nostalgic heart strings. Wilks was a native son who legit was dealing with being put on the spot, injuries, and a laughable roster. My only reason I am not crazy down even though we are terrible is the fact that the roster is so bad. I read an article after we started losing at the first of last year on how far the Panthers were behind with roster talent due to Rhule backloading with bum Penn St, Baylor, and Temple players. And that angers me about the trades, because we needed those picks to rebuild the roster. @onmyown always talks about how we should have allowed the losses and truly rebuilt with what would be our high draft and high trade acquired picks. Instead we were led to believe that we could win now and traded all those acquired assets away. So there is little optimism with an owner who lets his trophy wife make way too many decisions, a retread coach, a roster devoid of talent, and what looks like a team that has one of the three phases(O,D,ST) finding a way to lose every game in this young season.
  17. Here's to hoping the injury bug is behind him and he is dicing defenses up by year three like Tua.
  18. I wonder what went through his and his wife's head when it was dead silence and everybody reacted like that! I mean thought he was a minority owner of the Steelers. Where did he get this crap from? I could see if he had been groomed as an owner under Daniel Snyder.
  19. He definitely did. From people I know that work directly with organization(security), he thought it was campy and played out. A few weeks after I heard that, they tried that weird crap from Wolf of Wall Street with the chest pounding. He definitely feels more connected to that stupid bull as an aggressive hedge fund manager than to Keep Pounding.
  20. I have heard this so much the past two weeks from local Panthers' fans in my area. The line being what really sucks is now the Bears are going to have two top five or top ten picks in next year's draft. I mean they could draft Drake Maye and Marvin Harrison Jr, giving them Maye, Harrison JR, and DJ Moore to go with a new coaching regime. Talk about getting fleeced! We could've done the same simply by having like @onmyown that tank season and amassing picks. The actual effects of losing and rebuilding are easier to swallow as a fan than this head barely above water facade we've been witnessing the last five years!
  21. That is exactly the reasoning they use when they want to steer things a certain way. Tepper's connection to the Steelers organization gave him too large of a bump in their eval process. Anybody that rich is a shark one way or another though. Also, I yield. You were right. We should've traded Burns.
  22. Yeah, when they had Dan Morgan and Fitterer get up so that she could take a call during the draft and made the call to trade for DJ Johnson, I was like man what is this! During the evaluation period CJ Stroud was talking about his interview with Ms. Tepper and I thought why is this trophy wife/former restaurant worker having any input in the draft process.
  23. Raiders fan called him Carrbage for a reason. If we can get the pressure like we did on Ridder, he'll toss the D a couple.
