We need to move on next year. The guy struggles to kick deep and seemingly only misses the crucial kicks. If he wasn't a free agent keep him, but he kicks like a JAG and probably wants more than JAG money.

That All-Star cast was a joke from day one! I have a lot of family who are Colts fans and they laughed every time they saw me until Frank was fired. Second, I've never liked Jim Caldwell as he has seemed so aloof and lacking in passion since the day I met him. I met him on a recruiting trip in 1999 and even then they were shuffling him through the room like a feeble old man on the way to a bathroom trip. When he had his runs in Detroit and Indi, I thought no way this is the same guy! Deuce was just a lot of mouth, our OL coach should have had his ass kicked! And lastly, Frank didn't want him. Frank and Josh's demeanor at Stroud's pro day versus Bryce's was crazy evident in telling who they wanted. I'll be honest I don't know what happened, but I watched the game and was invested. Game tying drive plus two point conversion last week, late game drive to take the lead this week, and making almost every throw is all you can ask of a QB. He is showing competence and that is where I couldn't support him the first two weeks, because he showed none! Would be one helluva comeback story.

These are two important posts! First how quickly people forget our defensive jolt when we drafted Star and KK. Second, we put way too much pressure on Brown. He is the only elite player we have inside year in and year out. Putting a monster beside him makes our entire defense better and our run game go from worst to first kind of like ummm it did in 14-15! Lastly, those Michigan kids Harbaugh had the last three years are tough as nails difference makers. It is a lot like the Miami players when Jimmy Johnson came to the NFL. I know some of the guys were HOF level guys. You get as many of those guys as possible. They are winners and they keep high standards! It is like Cam, I mean it absolutely killed the guy to lose. Take a winner difference maker and control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball! Those guys are going to work harder and demand the same from those around them! I believe HOFer Mike Singletary said it best.

Dude, its 13 points if you think about it. I guess you take away the three since they kicked the FG after the TD no call was upheld, but Eddie missed two very makeable kicks and they can't be whining about the run game since a fumble sealed the game! Starting to think a lot of people around here don't know football. I get it, it's a message board, but they come on and start threads and it seems like they don't watch the games. There are ESPN takes on here with people who are supposed to be diehards.

Yeah, people are on here whining about Ladd and Cooper Dejean over the picks we took this year. It is pretty evident, but some things are taboo to talk about anymore. Legette is playing very well having played this year with two QBs, basically three as Bryce is seemingly a different QB now. Ladd is playing with a vested veteran QB and that is the reason he is producing more. Any moron can see that, but doesn't want to discuss the obvious. As far as Brooks not looking special, this is literally the second game he has played in as a rookie. His first catch he broke tackles and the big run he had he broke tackles, but he doesn't jump off the screen/didn't do anything. Bucky was the best RB yesterday, but won't discuss that our run defense is fooking last in the NFL. I wish sometimes you all would step up and kill these stupid threads before they get 5-7 pages deep! These arguments are so weak and it is just a bunch of hindsight negativity when you can see the team is trending upward.

This is exactly what needs to be said everytime somebody tries to say that crap about him running too much and basically being an oversized RB. I flipped on one of my friend's brother because he said this at a Christmas party a couple years back. I was like you just live in Charlotte and have no clue what you're talking about. If he had just turned and walked to the sideline like Peyton, Brady, Brees, or Big Ben has always did, he would've been fine. But he also didn't even get a real chance outside of New England to see if he still has it, but a bum like Chad Pennington did.

Young vs WIlliams over the past three games
NorthTryon replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
The reason I brought this up in the first place was his mindset. Saying at any point the NFL is easier than college is nonsense and a person who is strong mentally would never say that. Now he is the guy his teammates cannot depend on because he isn't strong mentally(ex: pulling himself out of a game). -
If all the rumors about Canales and Saleh being friends is true, you have to try to get Saleh and return to the 4-3. It is easier to outfit with talent and Saleh is a next level coordinator. Evero has made some edible chicken salad from the injury laden defense this year, but the Saleh and the switch to 4-3 just make more sense to me.

Actually said after playing that it is easier. That is even worse. -

He also was quoted as saying that he figured the NFL was going to be easy. Now that it isn't, he is reevaluating. It is easy to say they don't love it or the money makes them different. But now that they are on podcasts and give more behind the scenes interviews, you see how some of these kids are wired. I think he is just lazy due to being a top tier athlete his whole life and now that it is a profession it has beat him down mentally like it does so many QB prospects. Especially a guy who had less than 20 starts after highschool. I will say this, I don't think he has it mentally to make the jump and rebound on his own. He will need coaches, mentors to get him there and be willing to listen. -
And right before the game started, the sideline commentator relayed all of this rhetoric from Burns saying he was going to play with all of this passion and intensity due to the situation. Also saying he was so shocked the Panthers traded him in the offseason. This is why, you are single handedly without question taken out of numerous plays per game by WRs, TEs, and over pursuit! if Legette holds his block longer yesterday, he doesn't get the gift wrapped sack on the 1st drive. Guy is a bum to be honest. What an albatross of a contract!

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
NorthTryon replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Even with that one, Kamara was a mess at Tennessee. He fumbled every fifteen carries like clock work, had suspect hands, and was very frail/fragile. When he come out of the gate playing like he did for New Orleans, everybody was surprised. Don't get me wrong, there has been good RB talent all throughout and after the draft over the years. But when you have a chance to get that difference maker, you take him. Last week, watching Gibbs run that 76 yard touchdown validated everyone in Detroit for taking him top ten. That is four/five passes Goff doesn't have to throw, o-line doesn't have to block, plays kept in the vault, and it demoralizes defenses! There are maybe 3 guys in the NFL that could've made that play and because of plays like that I will never buy into that narrative of RBs are a dime a dozen. -
No, they are too busy ignoring everything about the kid's play because he's little, he's precious, they just love him(female work colleagues), has a big grin, and played well with stacked teams in college. Every press conference is Bryce, Bryce, Bryce! If I was Canales, I'd go Belicheat on them and say nothing.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
NorthTryon replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I haven't heard a damn thing out of the mid RBs that were supposed to be so serviceable and so good after we took Brooks. Only two have over 400yds with good ypc. Media narratives man. -
BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard

Kareem Hunt was all world before he pieced up that female in the hotel hall way. Stop it, bad example! What about San Fran's chaos and how they are all waiting around praying CMC makes it back this year. One good RB injury has Arizona leading that division! Quit with the media narrative that RBs are a dime a dozen. They are not and nobody from the outside media said Detroit was dumb for drafting Gibbs top ten last year. And if you could find a couple draft pundits who thought they had a better idea for the pick, boy does Detroit look smarter right now! -
Good trade, good win. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that jazz. My belief is we have are establishing a decent base to be competitive in a couple of years. Hear me, competitive, not contending. Next year's draft will be huge and the level of these picks are going to position us to take some good players.

C Mays / LT Christensen LT vs C Christensen / LT Ekwonu
NorthTryon replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just want somebody to settle into that Hangartner role and I may give Mays too much credit. He played so well early and has fell off since injuries crept into his vocabulary. He was struggling to get push on those goal line runs today. -
You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team. Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!

C Mays / LT Christensen LT vs C Christensen / LT Ekwonu
NorthTryon replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
How quickly we forget the Atlanta game. Brady was the reason a few of our drives stalled as Grady Jarrett single handedly beat him across his face to tackle Chuba for big losses. That hadn't happened to Corbett all year. Ickey has played solid and graded out well this year. Now once Moton retires, moves on, we will have a place to start BC. Whether that is at LT or RT remains to be seen, but Cade played better at C yesterday than BC. BC is not the future at center, but right tackle. -
Going to first game this Sunday
NorthTryon replied to RandomPanthersFan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, take some video and if they get better you can video that and sell the movie idea to WB. -
Worse, at least Gabbert could hand off to Fournette, not put his defense in horrible positions, and make enough competent throws to get to the playoffs and advance there.
-
There are definite times where as a sports fan you can see the perfect storm. The raiders game being one of them. There was a QB change, raiders had a weak offense, weak defense. A parlay was paying out at +850 for Dalton, Chuba, and Johnson to all have TDs. It is the safest bet going forward, because these are professionals and the Panthers have guys who could possibly be good backups and special teamers in the future starting at important positions.

Prepare your mind for Bryce's return. Dalton is bad.
