A forgotten boon in the Cam Newton acquisition
NorthTryon replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
People don't understand how Cam is going to help us in the redzone. We got to the two/three yard line so many times the last two years and couldn't get in there. And to everyone saying he ain't a battering ram and all that, Tom Brady is till doing sneaks at forty something. Cam will be fine. -
I didn't know that in all NFL circles except Carolina and New York he was considered the worst starting QB in the NFL when all of his stats were compiled. And we traded three picks after seeing him on film, then picked up option without him taking a snap for us. I think it was 55 or something guaranteed between him and Teddy. How is that for incompetence?

@kungfoodude I told you dude! Robbie rode in with Cam to practice! That man was crushed when they brought in Sam Darnold. Just like that, his demeanor has changed already as he was smiling riding on the cart with Cam to practice. Hopefully his body language and effort is going to change on the field.

Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Cam Newton.

Yes they will. Stephon Gilmore immediately bonded with Cam in New England and alluded to all the energy he brings. This locker room was dead in the water and good players knew that. They caused three turnovers last week and still lost by over three scores. They are going to bow at the feet. They just want someone to play somewhat better behind center. -
This needs to be a thread in its own right. Everybody is screaming for Brady's head and one guy said in another thread that the offense has been figured out followed by Brady will get to stay because Rhule doesn't fire assistants. Both of our two best receivers had good years last year and that was with Teddy. Brady has scaled back for Darnold's slow processing ass, but people are still getting open. He is blatantly missing them and this is routinely happening when he has time in the pocket. I'd bet our line would look even better if he wasn't back there making a simple crossing route combined with a post Chinese arithmetic! He held that shite so long on McCafferey's wheel route up the seam Sunday that I immediately started rubbing my temples. People need to quit acting like Brady and Robbie Anderson are the problems here.

These fools basically brought back Jimmy Clausen. Him and Barkley are the same player.

Yeah, Bieniemy said he would have loved to work with Cam, but Tepper was never going to hire someone who didn't look like him. People can say what they want, but Rivera was two time NFL coach of the year(not a popularity contest). And Tepper wanted to fire Mike Tomlin when he was minority owner at Pittsburgh and Tomlin has NEVER had a losing season! We are screwed screwed!

Tepper: Stop the Stadium from Being Overran on a Constant Basis
NorthTryon replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow, it has been four years. Dayuuum that is sad to think about. We had some down years with the Big Cat, but no four year droughts. -
I feel more like its the Jaguars route. They built a stellar defense and did nothing to upgrade QB position. They would've won a championship with a decent QB. Seattle got Wilson, but everyone felt like he was getting the shaft due to height biases. I firmly believe Pete Carroll takes Justin Fields if he has that pick off a down year, especially with the strong defensive pieces we already had. But with our GM being a product of the Seattle building process, it is very similar. I just think that was such a no brainer. He was such a polished kid, good accuracy, athletic, and experience in big games. How did it go from him and Lawrence battling for number one pick to us passing over him at eight?

Why are you sh*tting on my post? He is on some Daniel Snyder type stuff. And Sam Darnold ain't getting past his slow release, his slow progressions, or his lack of accuracy if he hasn't as a soon to be four year starter. And if Gardner Minshew was your first option what the hell do you want in a QB other than mediocrity?

I was perusing the Panther articles carefully placed in my home browser screen before accessing favorites and this little nugget emerged. Is it already proving to be too much? Are these new openings this year and opportunities to come at end of season enticing the coach? Matt Rhule not sold on staying in NFL? (msn.com)

Very Snyder-esk.

I don't know about these coaches being able to fix Darnold, but I do know this. And it throws a huge shadow of doubt on Tepper. When he was minority owner of the Steelers, he wanted to fire Tomlin when Big Ben's had injury bug started to resurface. The team was down, but Tomlin rallied them to a winning season. In fact he's never had a losing season as their coach, but if it was up to our current owner he would not still be the coach of the Steelers. Let that marinate.

I disliked both. Obvious for Sam why that was, but with Teddy it was entirely on performance. His best season before signing, he threw 14 touchdowns. When Cam had his best year, he ran for more TDs than that. And then I thought the NFL record is 51-52. And he had weapons in Minnesota. Pair that with the contract and I was struggling with my Panthers' fandom.

Hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaha!

This man said that Cam was never better than Matt Stafford! What are the young kids saying these days? Epic fail, face palm, Kap, and whatever else to express the unwarranted hating. Man, Matt Stafford has never won a playoff game nor appeared in as many as Cam. And he had a first ballot HOF WR for a lot of those years. You are showing your lack of football knowledge or outright bias. Which is it?
-
Mmmmmhhhmmm! When I saw how long it took Tom Flores to get in after he won a championship as a player and coach, I was like it is over for Cam. All that man's accolades and he didn't get in until he was of age where they had to wheel him on to the stage for his jacket.

I feel like they decided to stop the whole culture of that team. They were dancing after scores, taking team photos at the end of games, handing balls out to fans, talking much sh*t on the field, and being in your face about it. It was like the Miami Hurricanes' highlights on The U 30 for 30. Even Kuechly, Olsen, Davis, Kalil, Tolbert, and the veterans were down for the in your face party. I remember all these kids in college kids doing Cam's celebration, all the excitement of Sunday Giveaway, and all the commercials. I like you feel the league was like man hell no! We got to shut this down. First the Supa Bowl and then who rematches the Supa Bowl week 1 of the following year?1? Then they let them try to concuss Cam all season! And now here we are five years later and that entire era of Panther football is erased. And the Panther social media, Sports television, nobody acknowledges that the era existed. They never show Cam, Luke, G-Reg, or any of that team's highlights on Panther social media. They act like Lamar Jackson is the first QB to run the football since Vick on any broadcast where he plays. And one more thing! Now we have to watch all the damn teams give away balls, celebrate as a team after every turnover in the endzone, and do in your face TD celebrations.

I have heard die-hard fans of other teams say they have never understood the disrespect or seen it on this scale before. I wanted somebody on the set to be like man what are you taking about Terry?!?
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahahha! I know, but that shite gets to me when its week after week, season after season.
-
I'd like to hear it. And Sam is not as good as Jake or Kerry either. But we know who this was for.

Terry Bradshaw is insane. That is all. Well maybe a little more. I like the quote below and wish these talking heads would really think before saying some of the nonsensical shite they spew every Sunday broadcast on Fox and daily on ESPN! "Less hot takes. More educated ones please". Also, get that senile old bitch off television!
