He needs to be moved to outside LB and we should look to get a coverage safety.

Panthers are one game out of first place in the NFCS
NorthTryon replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great win yesterday and watching Tepper give game ball to Wilks. How about it guys? Having said that, just a few more losses and Texans wins! C'mon Shellie! -
You could see the elation and excitement after his second catch yesterday. He just needed a shot. I remember being angry because Jefferson, Chase, and Moss all ate off of TMJ because he was the first breakout WR at LSU. During the game yesterday, we all were like its one thing being Norman in Rivera's doghouse, but imagine being in Rhule's. And I am so glad they are making Shi Smith earn his reps now. Football is so much about opportunities and coaches. It is sad what happens to certain guys careers.

PFT ARTICLE: The Panthers slide squarely into tank mode
NorthTryon replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I understand where you are coming from as for the duration of this franchise's existence we have got very little outside of the first round. But the caveat is that Rhule had final say over all of the roster decisions during his tenure. This will be the first draft where Fitterer will not have to listen to Rhule wanting ex Temple, Baylor, and guys who fit his "Brand" nonsense. He helped build a consistent winner in Seattle and deserves benefit of the doubt. If he flames out, I am with you. -
PFT ARTICLE: The Panthers slide squarely into tank mode

Here is the thing though. Matt Rhule has been our GM for the past three years because he had final roster say. That is why Chuba, PJ, Robbie's extension, Joe Brady's jettisoning of Cam, and all this QB nonsense were things we had to endure. This guy helped build a consistent winner in Seattle, so he deserves a chance. Everything that we have done for the most part goes against his philosophy of stockpiling picks because I believe Rhule was reaching to win now. This had to happen, this regime or next. I have optimism Fitts can make us competitive again. He just has to get these losers that Rhule wanted to implement his brand out of here. -
Seriously, get out of my head. Everybody is so emotional that they forget Rhule had absolute "final" say over roster moves! That is why Chuba is here, that is why CJ, Temple alum, and PJ are here! Like no one else, I literally have no idea what Fitterer is as a traditional GM. He helped build a juggernaut in Seattle, so there is optimism, but dude these nuclear meltdown/pouting fits are hilarious! Speckler has lost his mind!

Wow, people are pouting so hard that they are coming up with conspiracy theories. You get a bunch of picks, the draft is deep at RB, and the team isn't good. What is not to like? -

That's out of my control," McCaffrey said, per The Athletic. "Trying to control everything I can control. … Right now I'm a Carolina Panther and giving my all to this place." Run of the mill stuff as he is saying all the right things. I just want to know who the hell this is in the picture. Made for a good afternoon laugh! I agree, but I also feel like it took longer due to coaching and the fact that he was the only DL over 260lbs his rookie year. It was like D. Carr's rookie year with the Texans! Welcome to the NFL rookie every single snap!
-
I thought we didn't want any of the QBs from this year's team here next year. Was that not including Corrall?

Panthers "listening" on Shaq Thompson also

If there is any cap alleviation, run it. -
NFL: Pats relationship with Mac Jones "gone sideways"
NorthTryon replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well yeah, it is a huge mess this year with Patricia as OC, although Zappe is doing his best Cooper Rush impersonation right now. -
If a team had multiple picks they could take him and the kid from Tennessee like Washington did with RG3 and Cousins. Hell, one of them would half to stay healthy by default and the kid from Tennessee would have to drop. I feel like he has NFL potential, but will be 37 at the combine.

And your point is? I quoted a post that said he barely did better than Cam and it was in reference to the year after Cam with all the changes they made to their team. -

I'm talking about last year in the 10 win season. He had McDaniels last year. -

And that's with a whole revamped roster on offense and defense. -
Exactamundo! I saw him listed in a top 5 of all time Panthers list on Twitter like three times and I was like hell naw! I know everybody has their different motivations, but c'mon.

I think weekly Squid Games are in order for every Baylor alum, Temple alum, Rhule disciple, Shi Smith, and Chuba until the roster shows exactly what the roster needs going forward!

Awe dayuuuum, and a 20 million dead cap hit!

Gladly picked up for a 6th and 7th rounder. Let's not act like we got back a 2nd or a 3rd. People thought and rightly assumed it would be hard to get anything substantial for him after his hijinks yesterday. But hey, continue patting yourself on the back. But, the last two weeks there has been a huddle camp who say any picks after the 3rd round don't matter. You weren't one of the ones in that camp were you?

He is a bum, didn't even know the mascot. He has always been a one trick pony and can only be effective on deep routes. Furthermore, that is only the case when there is a breakdown in coverage. He has suspect hands and blocks like a pylon. And wait there's more! He has an attitude problem. I imagine he would have trouble picking up an offense to truly be of any help. If you want someone to run off coverages, have at it. But we have seen how he acts when he is asked to sacrifice for the team. T. Marshall JR must've smacked Tepper and Rhule's wives on the backside to be stuck behind this dude and Shi Smith.

DJ has had three 1K yard receiving seasons the past three years all with a revolving door at QB. This thread is noodles. And the emotional, fanatic, short sighted, lack of football knowledge responses are exposing so many posters. The game plan yesterday was very close to the Wildcat game plan in Atlanta as far as WR involvement was concerned and there is thread about DJ Moore's effort. This board sometimes.

Exactly! Guys like Blaine Gabbert, Chase Daniels, Blake Bortles, and now Drew Lock come to mind as guys that get paid or got paid year after year with no chance to come in and consistently win games.
