Official Panthers at Rams GameDay Thread
Davidson Deac II replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sometimes you make a great play to get an int, and sometimes, you are in the right place at the right time. This one was definitely right place, right time. -

If we were defending SB champs, BOA would be full. Los Angeles is a Soccer/Basketball town. Maybe even a baseball town. -

Or most of the day, but set them up for a big play action pass on occassion. -
Yeah. That was a pretty bad ending for one of the better offenses in the league.
-
Fixed it for me. lol

Maybe, but I think the Ravens have a decent shot at a TD.
-
Bad play by the Ravens, and then a very bad decision by Lamar Jackson. Can the Giants capitalize?
-
From what I heard this morning, Forty Whiners have five defensive starters out. We genuinely might have softened them up for the Falcons. Although unlike us, Atl can actually take advantage when a team is missing starters.

Watching the Giants become a competent team due to a coaching change makes me both sad and hopeful. Sad that we struggled this year, and hopeful that if we get the right coach, we might not need major changes to become a winning team. Giants were as bad as we were last year, and they could be 5-1 with a win today.

I am beginning to like this more than House of the Dragon. Nice little twist on the ending of episode 8. I don't necessarily care that much about whether it matches the Lore. The movies didn't match it completely and they were great.

Just looking at the Panthers, Chris Weinke was a fourth rounder selected by Seifert who managed to hang around for four years, even after John Fox took over, and made Jake the starter. Jimmy Clausen was a second rounder who hung around the panthers for a year after Cam Newton was drafted. Even Will Grier stuck with the Panthers for another year after Rhule came on board, albeit on the practice squad. Fwiw, I would hazard a guess that on average almost any 2nd or 3rd round pick, regardless of position, gets at least two to three years with the team that drafted them, even with a coaching change, and regardless of position.

Historically speaking, a new coach almost always gives a drafted guy a shot. So, Corral will likely get a shot. Even if we do draft a qb in the first round, Corral will likely get a shot. Might just be a shot to be the backup for a few years. But Corral will be here next year, unless of course someone makes a decent trade offer for him.

Tanking does not guarantee a good QB
Davidson Deac II replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Perhaps we should draft qb, but intentionally tanking has never worked. The Dolphins were the last team to try it, and they still haven't made a playoff game. Of course, we are likely to get a high draft pick even if we don't tank, so this may be and likely is, an irrelevant conversation. -
Ok, but at this point, both Washington and Chicago seem like competition for a high spot.
-
Why do we care?
-
Honestly, that was a great call by the ref.

Funniest thing said by the announcer tonight. Worst thing you can do with the Bears is to cover all their receivers.

Tanking does not guarantee a good QB

We probably have to draft a qb this year. But I agree that tanking to do it is unlikely to pay off. -
This just in: Dan Snyder is having legal problems.
-
Fields is very slow getting the ball out.
-
Have to admit at this point, I am glad that we didn't draft Fields. Or Wilson. Or Lance. Jury is still out on Lawrence and Jones.
-
Never have understood why the age thing matters. Well, other than having a slightly shorter NFL career. But if we want someone to come in and play well within a year or two of being drafted, I prefer a 25 year old young man over a 21 year old kid. I think there is slightly less of a chance that the 25 year gets scarred by the constant pressure of being an NFL QB.

Yeah, its been a while ago, and I am getting older, so the memory isn't what it once was. But from what I remember, there was more enthusiasm about the Rivera hire than Rhule. While he certainly had his supporters, I seem to remember a lot of complaining about it.
