Penix looked a little rough in the first quarter, but has played well since. -

It would definitely be a NFC South thing if both Falcons and Bucs lose today and Bucs back into a playoff spot. -

I am wondering if he feels we just don't have enough downfield threats to throw it down the field. I am also wondering what happened to Sanders (TE). He has disappeared since getting injured against the Aints. -

Every coach/coordinator calls some bad ones. -

Agreed. That was probably 40% Penix and 60% Mccloud. -

Sanders would be a better running back if he didn't try to dance and spin so much. -

Jackson in the right place at the right time. Lets put it in the end zone and make em sweat. -
Reminder: Bryce Young is 23 years old.

There are also people here who wouldn't have drafted Penix because he was to old. -

We throw to many of those sideouts to backs, receivers, etc... Got to start throwing it down the field more. -
And when complaints occur regarding that, the solution will be to expand to even more teams. Just as they have done with the NCAA tournament. I think the solution is to play well for the entire season and then let the cards fall where they will. But it might be a good idea to eliminate a team playing at home and have all the games played at neutral sites.
-
Well, the difference is that with conference championships, the teams actually won something, thus earning the right. But then, I think they should break up the Mega Conferences anyway.
-
The flaw in that is best teams is just an opinion. But is there anyone who thinks that Georgia and Oregon didn't deserve #1 seeds? And both teams got their arses kick.
-
I agree. I think on the offensive side, if Young continues to improve, we are really only 1 or 2 players away from being very good. On the defensive side, we need to totally revamp the front 7.
-
Who else could you give the bye to? Oregon beat Ohio State. Georgia beat Texas twice. Arizona State was a conference champ, and probably would have beaten Texas had the ref's got the targeting call right. I suppose one could argue that Boise State didn't deserve it, but I like seeing the little guys get something like that. And they arguably played as well as any of the other top seeds did, except for Arizona State.
-
Like I said, didn't watch much of it. But the part I did watch, Boise State drove the ball down the field, got an apparent td that was called back due to a hands to the face penalty. Then the BSU qb threw a wounded duck pass that the safety caught looking like a baseball center fielder. A TD there cuts it to a 3 point lead. Then Penn State goes 3 and out, and BSU drives it 55 yards for a missed 38 yard fg attempt. After that, I changed the channel. Admittedly, its a small sample size, but it appeared to me that Boise State had a case of nerves playing on a national stage.
-
I watched about 10 minutes of the game last night, seemed more like Boise State blew its chances to win than Penn State dominated. Hands to the face penalty that cost them a TD and then an ugly interception. Then a missed relatively easy fg.

If you’re wondering how far we have to go

Well, our defense looks a lot like Detroits, so we have that going for us. -
You must not have been around for the early years of either one. At least on this message board, there were multiple people who wanted to replace both of them.
-
I think the majority of defenses operate that way now.
-
Yeah, and with Rattler, I doubt the Aints have much of a shot
-
Not really sure. I am in a hotel and the picture is a little flaky. He did just make a great throw over the middle, but the defender was a little better.
-
Not a good start for Penix tonight.

Honestly, aside from 1 or 2 plays/plaers, I am fairly pleased with the play of the offense. Thielen with a 100 plus yards in 1 half is fanastic. Defense, well not much to say. I hope Pinero's struggles are due to injury.
