  1. He plays for SF, so I am not getting excited about him one way or the other. That being said, I agree. Just pointing out that he looks serviceable. With the offense and coaching that SF has, they could still be pretty good at the end of the year. You said Kyle Allen, but I was thinking more along the lines of Nick Foles.
  2. Brock Purdy is playing well today. He has about 150 yards, 1 td passing, 1 rushing in one half of football.
  3. I hate lining up in the shotgun with a yard or two to go in goal line situations. But nice play by Hubbard to get it over the line.
  4. Goff is not as bad as people make him out to be. He was qb of one the best total offenses in the league just a few years ago. Top 10 in passing offense in 2017, and number 1 in scoring points. Number 2 the next year. He can produce when he has good players around him.
  5. So why did the Texans fire Culley and replace him with Smith?
  6. If Lovie had kicked the field goal and the Cowgals still score, they would now only need a fg to win. Now they have to go all the way in 41 seconds with no timeouts.
  7. I would buy that, except that Lovie, at least imo, has always coached that way.
  8. Cowboys are probably going to win. Texans failure to capitalize on what should have been a game winner is probably going to doom them.
  9. Shouldn't have handed off on the third down. Throw it or sneak it, don't give a speedy group like the Cowgals a chance to tackle in the backfield. But yeah, should have kicked the fg at least. Lovie Smith makes Rivera look like an offensive genius.
  10. Prescott just threw an ugly int. His arm was hit just as he released, but I am not sure where he was throwing to anyway. But I guess you can't really pin it on him. Texans might end up blowing it anyway as they fail to capitalize. Should have kicked the fg.
  11. Watching the Eagles/Giants game. What a great year for drafting qb's 2020 was. Hurts, Herbert, Tua, and Burrow all appear to have bright futures. So much better than the previous year with Daniel Jones and Kyler Murray, and better than 2021, at least for now.
  12. Agreed. He was great for about ten minutes. Their offense was below average for the first 50 minutes of the game. Mayfield looked great in the fourth qtr of his first game with us this year. Unfortunately, the good play didn't continue.
  13. Well, this should make the tank crowd happy as the Rams were ahead of us in the draft order.
  14. I was just remembering something. I went to a Wake Duke game several years ago. Both teams were decent, and Wake took an early lead, but Duke came back and won. Wake played two qb's that day, John Wolford and Kendall Hinton. Daniel Jones played for Duke. If someone had told me that one day, all three would start games for NFL teams, I would have questioned the sanity of the person saying it.
  15. I used to work with Chris Paul's mom. And by work with, I mean we passed each other in elevator a few times.
  16. Well, you were right and I was wrong. Seems a waste of money to me, but I suppose the Rams have a plan.
  17. In some ways, there is an advantage to judging a college football qb without being a fan of college football. Gives one a bit more objectivity.
  18. Personally, I would draft a qb this year. Yeah, the bust potential is high, but you have to take the risk, because the difficulty level of trying to win without a good qb is very very high. Only two teams in the last 20 years or so have won a sb without a good qb (Broncos and Eagles). With a draftee and Corral in camp, we have two players with at least some potential to starter and be good. Of course, the odds are still against us, but with the right coach, who knows.
  19. If we don't draft a qb in the next draft, the fan base is likely to riot.
