  1. Four yards on first down. Penalty on second, and then a two yard run. Incomplete pass on third down. We punt and give it right back to them.
  2. Since Rhule was canned, we throw the ball less than the vast majority of teams in the league. Ian Thomas may be overpaid, and certainly isn't a great pass catching tight end, but we can't blame him for not catching passes that aren't thrown.
  3. Clawson is a good coach, but if I see another slow mesh/slow developing play on third or fourth and short, I may throw something at the TV.
  4. The answer to that is yes. Some are molded, but the truly elite are just that way.
  5. You might be right, but I am not so sure I would want Fields to learn under the brain trust in charge of the Panthers at that time.
  6. It's a crapshoot. In 2018, it was Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, with Josh Allen third, and Lamar Jackson an afterthought. The prior year, Trubiski was the guy while Mahomes and Watson dropping to 10 and 12. In 2020, the word throughout the season was tank for Tua. Burrow came out of nowhere due to LSU's performance, and there was some guy named Herbert. Tua ending being the weakest of the three. I do think that exec's put way too much importance on the Pro day though.
  7. He is mostly correct, but its more like you make an Educated guess and keep your fingers crossed that it works out. That being said, we have to draft a qb next year. Got to try it.
  8. Have you watched the Cowboys lately? They aren't exactly looking good, getting beat by a sub 500 team and should have lost to the Texans. We will probably lose to them? Probably. But its certainly not a sure thing.
  9. Mayfield looked better last week. Maybe that is the key. He plays better when he has little knowledge of the offense/plays and just throws the ball.
  10. Or a franchise edge rusher for that matter. Although on the surface, those seem to be a bit more of a sure thing than qb.
  11. I thought it was the table you do all the coke on.
  12. I said three of four. Burrow was the fourth. Lawrence has played well of late, but imo the jury is still out on any qb's drafted last year.
  13. The offensive and defensive lines both got abused. The defense gave up a 21 play drive in the third qtr because the Pitt oline did as it pleased. We then had two red zone appearances in the 4th quarter, both of which resulted in fg's because the oline couldn't run block or pass protect. That is what lost the game.
  14. Our first 5 or 6 drafts in the first round were pretty horrible.
  15. Well, the good news for this is 3 of the 4 best young qb's in the NFL right now were not the first qb's picked in the draft, and were picked in positions 6-10. Maybe by picking later we will be saved from picking the next Mitch Trubiski or Baker Mayfield.
  16. For about the last 8-9 years, Gano has been one of the most clutch kickers in the NFL. Pinero has done ok, but I wish we had kept Gano.
  17. Agreed, and either of them might be worth taking a chance on, but I think we need the right coach to bring them along. Not sure about Wilkes, but I am sure it shouldn't be Mcadoo.
  18. Right now, the Bengals look more like the Bungles of old.
  19. There is a report that Jordan Love wants a Trade if AR comes back after this season. He looked pretty good in very limited minutes this years. I do wonder if he would be worth a trade and how much GB might want for him.
  20. No way to answer that question since its impossible to know how good they are until they actually play in the NFL. Personally, I am not sure Stroud or Young will be good NFL qb's, although I would be willing to try if we got a chance to draft them. I will say that if the guys that make the decision on who to draft decide a college qb is actually good enough to be a legit NFL qb, then we draft them regardless of whether we are picking first or 31st.
  21. You are right. But they dominated the offensive and defensive lines. They were just far more physically dominant than us. I am not sure if it was mental or physical, probably a lot of both.
  22. We have a great defense when we are playing NFC south teams on our home field.
  23. I don't know if Wilkes will be retained. Don't know if he should be retained. But if the team makes that decision based on the results of one single game, then we are probably not going to do any better with a new coach.
  24. We still have a good shot, because we are in the worst division in the NFL. A bigger question is can Wilkes be the head coach if we continue to play like crap against most teams outside of our division.
  25. No. Tampa plays at Cincy. They will probably lose, which means we are still 1 game behind.
