  1. Fwiw, Zach Wilson was better than Josh Allen. For tonight anyway.
  2. My grades QB - D. Made some nice plays at times, but obviously had some work to do. Oline - First half A, second Half C. Run blocking was great, pass blocking in the second half broke down some, although some of that was on the qb. WR's - D, didn't do much. Defense as a whole, B. Their first two drives for scores were 17 yards (td) and 5 yards (fg). When we didn't turn the ball over on our own side of the field, they got zero points for the first 3 quarters. But we knew they were going to run it, and didn't do much to stop the run. Special teams Kicking/coverage was good enough. Punter was fantastic.
  3. I don't know about arm elasticity, but personally I am not worried about his arm strength. The only issue I have seen so far is with accuracy on deep balls on the sidelines. And at this point, it might be more an issue of timing with the receivers than anything else. There was one relatively deep shop to Marshall that Marshall hesitated on for just a second. If he had not of hesitated, the ball might have dropped right into his arms for a big play.
  4. Not sure why you are ranting at me, I just said Fields didn't look great. But regarding Young, things are fairly simple. If he becomes a great Qb, then the moves we made will be worth it. If not, then they won't.
  5. They showed several plays where DJ was wide open and Fields just didn't see him. And Olsen mentioned that Fields was staring down his receivers.
  6. Did Fields look great. I only saw the second half and thought he looked as much like a rookie as Young did
  7. Rookie QB, new coaching staff, lots of new players, about what I expected. I am not really bothered by it. We will just have to wait a few games to see what developes. Bryce learned one thing today. Playing at Alabama where your team almost always has more talent than the other team is vastly different than playing in the NFL.
  8. Defense was decent but the turnovers killed us. 17 points after turnovers.
  9. Maybe. Or Maybe he just decided to give up on football and move on.
  10. Full stadium so they make more money, low-cost travel budget (when they play at ASU), and it counts towards victories required for a bowl invitation.
  11. Well, now they are up by two TD's with Less than 3 minutes left, so he is likely very happy now. Probably the biggest win for Miami in several years. Meanwhile the move to A&M for Jimbo Fisher isn't going very well.
  12. Miami up by 8 over Texas A&M with 5 minutes left.
  13. Football? Maybe, I do think ratings are going to continue to decline and all these schools that depend on Football money are going to have big problems in 10-15 years. College sports as a whole though is going to be around longer than any of us will.
  14. If College Sports only had fans who attended the school they pull for, College Sports would die.
  15. I listened to the Wake game on the Radio today. Due to a disagreement between the local Fox affiliate and Directv, I will be watching the Panthers tomorrow using an Antennae. All I need is a rotary dial phone and my 1970's flashback will be complete.
  16. Hartman lighting teams up the way he did at Wake. Difference is that Notre Dame has a significantly better defense and run game than Wake did.
  17. If Nebraska can wait out the process, in five years they might be able to pull out a close one over Colorado.
  18. I am optimistic this season, just like I am about every new season. Have tickets to a couple of games, and I am looking forward to it. I do admit that Rhule being gone makes me a little more optimistic. That being said, new coach, new qb, lots of turnover, so I expect the season to start slow. I also think its amusing that people are actually down about the preseason. Preseason has never been an indicator of regular season success or lack thereof. Never, ever. Our 2015 preseason was terrible, at least for the starters. The backups led by the preseason MVP Joe Webb won some games for us, but we were usually behind after the first qtr that year.
  19. Neither offense was good last night. KC had to many drops, and Detroit was underwhelming on the offensive side. But the game was entertaining because it was close and hard fought.
  20. Well, that should do it. KC loses its opener.
  21. Don't blame em for going for it. And now there is a better chance that if KC scores, Detroit gets a shot.
