  1. They are fifth in points allowed per game. Reality is that without all the turnovers, they would likely be 7-1, or maybe 8-0.
  2. I find it interesting that people are talking about the SF defense. With 7 turnovers in the last three games, might need to point the finger at the other side. The reality is that most of the time, the more you turn the ball over, the more the other team scores.
  3. There is a report that SF traded with Washington to get Chase Young. If so, that might be why he was called in.
  4. I am not sure I would consider several of those guys elite. Some are, some maybe not. But regardless, it seems that there are several ways to build a SB winner. Tampa Bay and the Rams did it with vet qb's they picked up in the offseason and elite defenses. I mean for all the talk about Brady, Tampa Bay held Mahomes and Tyreek Hill to 9 points. The Chiefs did it with a great qb and an elite wr who was an undrafted free agent the first time around, and no elite receivers in the second one. The Dolphins have more weapons than any team in the NFL, but they have yet to even get a playoff win. Might this year, but they got smacked around by an Eagles team that played great defense. It would be nice to have an elite receiver, but in terms of winning super bowls, these things change every year. This year, it could be a offensive shootout, next year could be another low scoring affair like the Patriots Rams sb from a few years ago.
  5. Why do we need a elite receiver? I mean certainly they help, but most SB winners have several good ones instead of one great one. If we trade Burns so be it. But I would rather it be for a haul of picks, instead of just one to get a top receiver.
  6. Agreed. If we end up winning five this year, I would be ok with that.
  7. Red zone offense is still the big issue. Well actually, the 35 yard line and in. Its partly an inexperienced qb, partially on the wr's, partially the play calling, but mostly on the offensive line. First and goal, and couldn't get any push at all. We moved the ball fairly well in the middle of the field, but struggled when we got closer to the goal. And its been an issue all season long. Hopefully, the issues improve with time and better health.
  8. Prior to today, the Texans were averaging 270 yards per game passing. They got 140 today. Overall, a pretty good day.
  9. From what I read, he had a concussion, or there was a concern he had one. He went in the tent.
  10. Major difference is that Horne is good when he plays. Icky hasnt had a problem with injuries just with play on the field.
  11. I rarely give up on a player at the midpoint in the season, but with Sanders, its obvious he should be inactive or third in line. He just looks indecisive when he should just go. Unless we are talking Barry Sanders, NFL rb's can't just dance around. They have to pick a lane and go, and if they pick the wrong one, so be it. Chuba runs hard and Blackshear gives a solid run pass threat. I don't think Sanders brings anything to the lineup at this point.
  12. Agreed, but I do think they should change the rules in that case so that the kicking team can decline the penalty.
  13. Essentially, it was a pre-snap penalty, so the kick didn't count.
  14. Part of the problem is that the Oline has been mixed up all year. New coaching staff with new ways of doing things and then multiple injuries. I think it will be nice to just see if a few weeks of consistent players and no injuries helps things get better. That being said, our first round pick from last year looked really bad. In both the run and pass blocking.
  15. The funny thing is that we are only three games out of first. Not that we have a chance of winning it, but our division is really bad.
  16. I thought Mingo looked better today. Four receptions on five targets. He and Thielen could made a fairly effective combination if he continues to improve.
  17. If I have to give it to just one person, its Luvu. But an argument could be made for several players. I wouldn't underestimate the importance of Chuba getting that first down on the third and two.
  18. Oh no doubt, lots of things happened for us to win. But their passing game was terrible in the second half, because we kept getting our hands on the ball before they did. Ironically, I think their biggest pass play of the second half happened BECAUSE we tipped it.
  19. Stroud had a lot of batted balls today. That is at least partially on him. Bryce had maybe one. Those batted balls by Brown and Luvu were probably the difference in the game.
  20. Best positive vibe from the day other than the win. They only got 16 yards passing in the 4th qtr.
  21. Theilen also. Also, whomever caused the fumble in the third qtr.
  22. Falcons going to lose. We are only three games out of first. lol
  23. And Chuba, and Thielen. Both made some huge plays on that last drive. The diving first down by Chuba essentially gave them a clear path to victory.
  24. Henderson had a good game today. The defense as a whole did.
