You forgot, use a 6th round pick to get one of the best qb's ever.

A cap guru's job supposedly is just to arrange contracts, normally they wouldn't have any input into selecting talent. Or at least they shouldn't. To me, the GM and the coach should say, here is who we want, figure out a way to sign him that doesn't break the bank. And I think Sulieman did that. If the rumors that he was somehow involved in actual player selection, then that would be the fault of the GM and Owner for allowing that to happen.

Rhule: "I wanted to draft Brock Purdy"
Davidson Deac II replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
If memory serves, every qb that played for Rhule played better after he got away from Rhule. Mayfield played better in LA and Tampa Darnold played better once Rhule was fired. PJ Walker played better after Rhule was fired. Even Bridgewater played a little better in Denver. More TD's, fewer interceptions anyway. Had Purdy played for Rhule, no one would be calling him a game manager, because no one other than us would know who he was. -
Rhule: "I wanted to draft Brock Purdy"

You know Purdy is thanking god or budda that the Panthers didn't draft him. -
I am a Wake fan, so I have no problem saying bad things about about players from NCSU/UNC/Duke. Personally, I don't care where he was drafted. Draft position ceases to matter once the draft is over. He is ours and we need to make the best use we can out of him. Ickey is a great power running game run blocker. In a smash mouth situation, there are few that can handle him. As a pass blocker, he leaves a lot to be desired. He either improves this year or we do something else with him (move him to guard, trade him or whatever is best for the team.

I have had to file claims and never really had much of a problem getting them to pay. They usually do what they are supposed to. My stepfather passed away a couple of years ago, and they paid his 30,000-life insurance in about 3 weeks. My brother in-law died of cancer last month, and my sister's 400,000 policy payment is being processed. Had to file a claim on my house for some ice damage about 20 years ago, they paid up quickly. Had to provide a lot of paperwork, but they were very helpful in both situations.

Yac was never going to be his role. He was supposed to be the guy who could get open, pick up some key first downs, make the clutch catch. Think Ricky Proehl or Jericho Cotchery. Instead, he essentially became the top target because he was the only one that could get open and catch the ball consistently.

Has he actually said this? I mean he has one year as a OC, so as far as past results, one can't really say what he likes. Seattle certainly had a power run game in its Super Bowl years, so he does have an association with it. If he is smart, he will adjust to what his team does best, whether that is a power run, a pass happy offense, or some combination thereof.

Agreed. Laviska is actually decent when healthy, but so rarely is he healthy that there is little point in keeping him.
-
He is a free agent. If he had a good season, we would still suck and he wouldn't be coming back here.

Commanders hiring Kliff Kingsburgy, Joe Whitt Jr. as coordinators (nfl.com) How on earth does Kliff Kingsbury keep getting jobs in the NFL? The Commanders hired him as their offensive coordinator. I don't get it, he got fired from Texas Tech after not being able to win games with Patrick Mahomes as his qb, quit on USC, did nothing at the Cardinals, got rehired at USC, and has now left after 1 year to go to the Commanders. I guess he is a salesman.

Chark essentially had a one year contract. Even if he had a pro bowl season, he would likely be gone.

They are both gone.

Personnel moves to win NFC South
Davidson Deac II replied to Ghostofdelhomme's topic in Carolina Panthers
Usually, but not always. I have seen teams feature a power rushing attack, and a passing attack that utilizes a lot of short an intermediate range passes. I was a Washington fan for years, and Theisman never had a strong arm, but he had a great coach, some good receivers, a good oline and John Riggins. -

Agreed, we aren't going to get as much for him now. Better to give him a higher contract and get what we can performance wise. If we tag and trade him now, we might get a second and will likely have a significant portion of his cap hit on our books. Regarding your earlier comment about moving the Oline around, I wouldn't mind trying Brady at left tackle and moving Ickey to guard. I think Ickey might do better at guard. But besides that, I agree. -

We can't go back in time and undo the trade. So at this point, the front office and the staff have to do what is best for the team going forward. If that means we move to a power running attack, so be it. And if that gives Bryce a couple of years to turn into a good qb (ala Trevor Lawrence or Josh Allen) then so much the better. If we keep looking at the situation as "we gave up a lot for him, so he has to be great now" then he is probably doomed. -
His first draft is handicapped. It will be interesting to see though if Canales can get more out of the picks, we have than Reich and Rhule did. Making Ekwonu more of a downhill blocker, and Horn staying healthy would help a lot.

There are two different definitions of BBQ, one a verb and one a noun. The Verb, to cook outdoor or on a grill. This definition is not used in the Southeast. The Noun, pork cooked on an fire or grill or some other method that can be used outdoors. Cooked with one of several different sauces or baste, the best of which is a mixture of tomato sauce and vinegar.

If by unload you mean cut, then there is little doubt that will happen. If by unload, you mean trade, can't see that happening. Can't imagine anyone would give us anything for him.
