  1. I think the mistake some teams make is focusing to much on certain players. Personally, I would prefer to have more picks, especially when it comes to the 2nd and 3rd round. Much greater chance of hitting.
  2. 25% of day 2/3 picks would be phenomenal. NFL Draft Pick Bust Rate Remains Very High - Daily Norseman Assuming the 30% includes first round picks, and that a draft success means the play spends significant amounts of time playing for the team that drafted him, a 25% success rate for day 2/3 picks would be well above average.
  3. How many receivers have ever put a team over the top with a poor quarterback?
  4. I just meant the circumstances were similar, but certainly not identical. In the end, the only thing that matters is how well Pennix plays one of these days.
  5. Regarding Arod being new, that is not really my point. My point is that Packer fans felt that Love was a reach and that the Packers needed help to actually win a Superbowl. If Pennix takes over qb in three years and plays well, no one will care when he was drafted. And the main point of drafting anyone is to make the team better. For Pennix, the GM was thinking a couple of years down the road, not now. And to put the team in a position for sustained long term success. Only time will tell if that philosophy will work. It probably won't work, but then the majority of draft picks down work out as well as teams hope they will.
  6. Meh, many Packer fans felt the same way about Jordan Love, but I think they are ok with him now.
  7. Why I ignore draft grades. 2022 NFL Draft: Final quick-snap grades for all 32 teams Draft picks N.C. State OT Ickey Ekwonu (No. 6 overall) Ole Miss QB Matt Corral (No. 94 overall) Penn State LB Brandon Smith (No. 120 overall) Virginia Tech Edge Amaré Barno (No. 189 overall) Tennessee OG Cade Mays (No. 199 overall) Baylor CB Kalon Barnes (No. 242 overall) Day 1 grade: A Day 2 grade: B Day 3 grade: A 2017 NFL Draft: Quick-snap grades for all 32 teams Kansas City Chiefs Draft picks:Patrick Mahomes (No. 10 overall), Tanoh Kpassagnon (No. 59 overall), Kareem Hunt (No. 86 overall), Jehu Chesson (No. 139 overall), Ukeme Eligwe (No. 183 overall), Leon McQuay (No. 217 overall) Day 1 grade: B+ Day 2 grade: A Day 3 grade: C Overall grade: B+
  8. He won't be on a leash, but like athletes, if he continues to struggle, he will eventually be benched.
  9. They will be forced to hire Matt Rhule as both head coach and GM.
  10. After the first ten or so picks, mock drafts are as useless as tits on a boar hog.
  11. Let it ride this year. If next year comes and we feel we are a couple of players away from being a contender, then restructure, extend, cut whatever. No point in kicking the can down the road this year. And I don't see how we are 'handcuffed" by Moton's contract.
  12. I never want an SEC or a Big 10 school to win anything, so I hope UConn wins. But I don't care that much.
  13. He will get the bonus for winning the ACC tournament. But the money for the automatic contract extension will come later.
  14. He will get the bonus for winning the ACC tournament. But the money for the automatic contract extension will come later.
  15. Winning the ACC tournament triggered a lot of bonuses, and a bag of money. If someone comes at him, they better have deep pockets. And would a deep pockets team come after a guy who was on the hot seat until the ACC tournament?
  16. 14 points in the entire second half. That is just some horrific shooting. Ah well, they still had a good run.
  17. They are rebounding better, with Purdue having only a slight advantage in the second half. But their shooting has disappeared. Looks like Purdue is going to win, unless something dramatic happens.
  18. Diarra had a terrible half of basketball there. He will need to improve for NCSU to have a shot.
  19. Ok, but what they did in other games is irrelevant at this point. And they don't have to beat Purdue on the boards, they just have to do better than 20-12. I am not saying NCSU will win, they probably won't. But if they shoot better and rebound better, they can take the lead and have a shot at winning.
  20. On the other hand, if State starts rebounding better and shooting better, they will take the lead.
  21. Fwiw, I agree. But that would be true of anyone we hire, no exceptions.
