  1. Currently? Jayden Daniels had a very successful debut. I watched him and Cade, and Daniels looked better, albeit in extremely limited time. He has looked better than Howell did, at least thru two games.
  2. Last year was a bad scenario. This year, he actually had a pretty decent set up, probably as good as Stroud had last year. Good Oline play, a decent veteran group of receivers, and a running game that has had some success, albeit in extremely limited play. And before anyone says he got Carred, if he didn't have the mental toughness to work thru the issues last year, the odds of him being a successful NFL qb were slim and none.
  3. I doubt leading us in Sacks is much of a factor. I mean he has one more sack than I do.
  4. My guess is that Canales discussed it with him and Morgan, and maybe some others, but in the end, it was Canales call. But its just a guess. I don't think Tepper is necessarily a bad guy, but I do think he is easily conned (Rhule) and a little impatient. And fwiw, I think the current qb issues started when we released Cam and signed Bridgewater, and the qb probably have cascaded since, but that is probably a discussion for another thread.
  5. Agreed, that is a fairly common thing in all sports. He is still our coach/qb/pitcher/point guard/etc.... And then the next day, he isn't.
  6. Regarding Young vs Stroud, I looked at both of them as a crapshoot, but if both were crapshoots, then I would take the bigger one. I think I said that here, but I don't remember specifically.
  7. I agree. The oline is playing well enough. Hubbard is averaging nearly 5 ypc. The issue is our qb can't throw it more than 5 yards. A few preseason reps wouldn't have mattered.
  8. And if he can't handle one year of bad oline play, then he was never going to be our guy anyway. I mean mental toughness is definitely a critical part of being an NFL qback.
  9. Unless someone makes some trade offer, there is no actual benefit to dumping him now. And I don't see anyone making a trade offer, although crazier things have happened.
  10. There are way to many news sources now that simply want clicks. I seriously doubt he was shocked.
  11. He probably should have said nothing on the matter. But I don't really care.
  12. If we can get a TD in the first half, that would be an improvement.
  13. I will say that for now, the Aints offense looks dominant. They abused Dallas as well. Not sure we can judge based on that game. In fact,we might have done a little better than Dallas in that we at least held them to fgs a couple of times in the first half.
  14. Agreed, the heart thing tends to be overblown. He just doesn't have the tools.
  15. Until he shows that he can play well against someone other than Southwest Texas hair care school, it's irrelevant what the Mannings want.
  16. Could be. Could also be as Linville alluded to, defensive adjustments. Could also be an aberration. It will be interesting to watch over the next few games.
  17. I wonder if Bryce had played at say Vanderbilt, would he have been drafted?
  18. Well, in fairness, Dallas didn't do much better against the Saints than we did. Easiest job in the NFL this year has to be the Saints punter.
  19. Watching this game, and the lack of scoring got me to wondering. Is it just me or does scoring seem way down this season? Other than the blowouts in Dallas and Arizona today, no teams today broke the 30 point barrier. That seems unusual.
  20. I was wondering how that could possibly be a penalty. Glad they waved it off.
  21. Welcome to the NFL Caleb. You aren't playing San Jose State anymore. He certainly seems to have the skill set to succeed, but he is going to improve in several areas to be a NFL qb.
  22. I don't see how they can if the epically bad performances continue.
  23. And he might some day, probably in college at least.
  24. I have no doubt that Bryce works as hard as anyone, studies as much game film, gets just as depressed when he plays poorly, as Stroud or anyone else does. He probably doesn't lack the work ethic, or even the smarts. He just lacks the abilities/talent/size to succeed in the NFL.
